Wayawma nabAAathu min kulli ommatinshaheedan thumma la yu/thanu lillatheenakafaroo wala hum yustaAAtaboonaويوم نبعث من كل امة شهيدا ثم لايؤذن للذين كفروا ولاهم يستعتبون
[YA]: One Day We shall raise from all Peoples a Witness: then will no excuse be accepted from Unbelievers, nor will they receive any favours.

[RK]:The day will come when we raise from every community a witness, then those who disbelieved will not be permitted (to speak), nor will they be excused.

Fayawma-ithin la yanfaAAu allatheenathalamoo maAAthiratuhum wala humyustaAAtaboonaفيومئذ لاينفع الذين ظلموا معذرتهم ولاهم يستعتبون
[YA]: So on that Day no excuse of theirs will avail the transgressors, nor will they be invited (then) to seek grace (by repentance).

[RK]:Therefore, no apology, on that day, will benefit the transgressors, nor will they be excused.

Fa-in yasbiroo faalnnarumathwan lahum wa-in yastaAAtiboo fama hum minaalmuAAtabeenaفان يصبروا فالنار مثوي لهم وان يستعتبوا فماهم من المعتبين
[YA]: If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received.

[RK]:If they continue the way they are, Hell will be their destiny, and if they make up excuses, they will not be excused.

Thalikum bi-annakumu ittakhathtumayati Allahi huzuwan wagharratkumu alhayatualddunya faalyawma la yukhrajoonaminha wala hum yustaAAtaboonaذلكم بانكم اتخذتم ايات الله هزوا وغرتكم الحياة الدنيا فاليوم لايخرجون منها ولاهم يستعتبون
[YA]: "This, because ye used to take the Signs of Allah in jest, and the life of the world deceived you:" (From) that Day, therefore, they shall not be taken out thence, nor shall they be received into Grace.

[RK]:"This is because you took GOD's revelations in vain, and were preoccupied with the first life." Consequently, they will never exit therefrom, nor will they be excused.
