[YA]: He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!"

[RK]:He said, "It is that big one who did it. Go ask them, if they can speak."

Thumma nukisoo AAala ruoosihim laqadAAalimta ma haola-i yantiqoonaثم نكسوا علي رؤوسهم لقد علمت ماهؤلاء ينطقون
[YA]: Then were they confounded with shame: (they said), "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!"

[RK]:Yet, they reverted to their old ideas: "You know full well that these cannot speak."

Wala nukallifu nafsan illawusAAaha waladayna kitabun yantiqu bialhaqqiwahum la yuthlamoonaولانكلف نفسا الا وسعها ولدينا كتاب ينطق بالحق وهم لايظلمون
[YA]: On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged.

[RK]:We never burden any soul beyond its means, and we keep a record that utters the truth. No one will suffer injustice.

Wawaritha sulaymanu dawoodawaqala ya ayyuha alnnasuAAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteenamin kulli shay-in inna hatha lahuwa alfadlualmubeenuوورث سليمان داود وقال ياايها الناس علمنا منطق الطير واوتينا من كل شئ ان هذا لهو الفضل المبين
[YA]: And Solomon was David's heir. He said: "O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah.)"

[RK]:Solomon was David's heir. He said, "O people, we have been endowed with understanding the language of the birds, and all kinds of things have been bestowed upon us. This is indeed a real blessing."

WawaqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim bima thalamoofahum la yantiqoonaووقع القول عليهم بما ظلموا فهم لاينطقون
[YA]: And the Word will be fulfilled against them, because of their wrong-doing, and they will be unable to speak (in plea).

[RK]:They will incur the requital for their wickedness; they will say nothing.

[YA]: "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"

[RK]:"Why do you not speak?"

Waqaloo lijuloodihim lima shahidtumAAalayna qaloo antaqana Allahuallathee antaqa kulla shay-in wahuwa khalaqakumawwala marratin wa-ilayhi turjaAAoonaوقالوا لجلودهم لم شهدتم علينه قالوا انطقنا الله الذي انطق كل شئ وهو خلقكم اول مرة واليه ترجعون
[YA]: They will say to their skins: "Why bear ye witness against us?" They will say: "Allah hath given us speech,- (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return.

[RK]:They will say to their skins, "Why did you bear witness against us?" They will reply, "GOD made us speak up; He is the One who causes everything to speak. He is the One who created you the first time, and now you have been returned to Him."

Hatha kitabuna yantiquAAalaykum bialhaqqi inna kunnanastansikhu ma kuntum taAAmaloonaهذا كتابنا ينطق عليكم بالحق انا كنا نستنسخ ماكنتم تعملون
[YA]: "This Our Record speaks about you with truth: For We were wont to put on Record all that ye did."

[RK]:This is our record; it utters the truth about you. We have been recording everything you did.

Fawarabbi alssama-i waal-ardiinnahu lahaqqun mithla ma annakum tantiqoonaفورب السماء والارض انه لحق مثل ماانكم تنطقون
[YA]: Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other.

[RK]:By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is as true as the fact that you speak.

[YA]: Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.

[RK]:Nor was he speaking out of a personal desire.

[YA]: That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak.

[RK]:That is the day they do not speak.
