| [YA]: Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah)!" [RK]:Subsequently, they slaughtered the camel, rebelled against their Lord's command, and said, "O Saaleh, bring the doom you threaten us with, if you are really a messenger." | ||||

| [YA]: But they did ham-string her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): (Behold) there a promise not to be belied!" [RK]:They slaughtered her. He then said, "You have only three days to live. This is a prophecy that is inevitable." | ||||

| [YA]: "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,- [RK]:"I worry about my dependants after me, and my wife has been sterile. Grant me, from You, an heir. | ||||

| [YA]: He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?" [RK]:He said, "My Lord, will I have a son despite my wife's sterility, and despite my old age?" | ||||

And if one has retaliated to no greater extent than the injury he received, and is again set upon inordinately, Allah will help him: for Allah is One that blots out (sins) and forgives (again and again). [RK]:It is decreed that if one avenges an injustice that was inflicted upon him, equitably, then he is persecuted because of this, GOD will surely support him. GOD is Pardoner, Forgiving. | ||||

[RK]:They disbelieved him and slaughtered her. Their Lord then requited them for their sin and annihilated them. | ||||
