Qala rabbi anna yakoonu leeghulamun waqad balaghaniya alkibaru waimraatee AAaqirunqala kathalika Allahu yafAAalu mayasha/oقال رب اني يكون لي غلام وقد بلغني الكبر وامراتي عاقر قال كذلك الله يفعل مايشاء
[YA]: He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have son, seeing I am very old, and my wife is barren?" "Thus," was the answer, "Doth Allah accomplish what He willeth."

[RK]:He said, "How can I have a boy, when I am so old, and my wife is sterile?" He said, "GOD does whatever He wills."

FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAatawAAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihui/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta minaalmursaleenaفعقروا الناقة وعتوا عن امر ربهم وقالوا ياصالح ائتنا بما تعدنا ان كنت من المرسلين
[YA]: Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah)!"

[RK]:Subsequently, they slaughtered the camel, rebelled against their Lord's command, and said, "O Saaleh, bring the doom you threaten us with, if you are really a messenger."

FaAAaqarooha faqalatamattaAAoo fee darikum thalathata ayyamin thalikawaAAdun ghayru makthoobinفعقروها فقال تمتعوا في داركم ثلاثة ايام ذلك وعد غير مكذوب
[YA]: But they did ham-string her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): (Behold) there a promise not to be belied!"

[RK]:They slaughtered her. He then said, "You have only three days to live. This is a prophecy that is inevitable."

Wa-innee khiftu almawaliya min wara-eewakanati imraatee AAaqiran fahab lee min ladunkawaliyyanواني خفت الموالي من ورائي وكانت امراتي عاقرا فهب لي من لدنك وليا
[YA]: "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-

[RK]:"I worry about my dependants after me, and my wife has been sterile. Grant me, from You, an heir.

[YA]: He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?"

[RK]:He said, "My Lord, will I have a son despite my wife's sterility, and despite my old age?"

Thalika waman AAaqaba bimithlima AAooqiba bihi thumma bughiya AAalayhi layansurannahuAllahu inna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorunذلك ومن عاقب بمثل ماعوقب به ثم بغي عليه لينصرنه الله ان الله لعفو غفور
[YA]: That (is so). And if one has retaliated to no greater extent than the injury he received, and is again set upon inordinately, Allah will help him: for Allah is One that blots out (sins) and forgives (again and again).

[RK]:It is decreed that if one avenges an injustice that was inflicted upon him, equitably, then he is persecuted because of this, GOD will surely support him. GOD is Pardoner, Forgiving.

[YA]: But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.

[RK]:They slaughtered her, and thus incurred sorrow.

Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAatafaAAaqaraفنادوا صاحبهم فتعاطي فعقر
[YA]: But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her).

[RK]:But they persuaded their friend to kill (the camel), and he obliged.

Fakaththaboohu faAAaqaroohafadamdama AAalayhim rabbuhum bithanbihim fasawwahaفكذبوه فعقروها فدمدم عليهم ربهم بذنبهم فسواها
[YA]: Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)!

[RK]:They disbelieved him and slaughtered her. Their Lord then requited them for their sin and annihilated them.
