Falam yaku yanfaAAuhum eemanuhum lammaraaw ba/sana sunnata Allahi allatee qad khalat feeAAibadihi wakhasira hunalika alkafiroonaفلم يك ينفعهم ايمانهم لما راوا باسنا سنة الله التي قد خلت في عباده وخسر هنالك الكافرون
[YA]: But their professing the Faith when they (actually) saw Our Punishment was not going to profit them. (Such has been) Allah's Way of dealing with His Servants (from the most ancient times). And even thus did the Rejecters of Allah perish (utterly)!

[RK]:Their belief then could not help them in the least, once they saw our retribution. Such is GOD's system that has been established to deal with His creatures; the disbelievers are always doomed.

Wathalikum thannukumuallathee thanantum birabbikum ardakumfaasbahtum mina alkhasireenaوذلكم ظنكم الذي ظننتم بربكم ارداكم فاصبحتم من الخاسرين
[YA]: "But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!"

[RK]:This kind of thinking about your Lord will cause you to fall, and then you become losers.

Waqayyadna lahum quranaafazayyanoo lahum ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahumwahaqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu fee omamin qad khalat minqablihim mina aljinni waal-insi innahum kanoo khasireenaوقيضنا لهم قرناء فزينوا لهم مابين ايديهم وماخلفهم وحق عليهم القول في امم قد خلت من قبلهم من الجن والانس انهم كانوا خاسرين
[YA]: And We have destined for them intimate companions (of like nature), who made alluring to them what was before them and behind them; and the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, who have passed away, is proved against them; for they are utterly lost.

[RK]:We assign to them companions who adorn everything they do in their eyes. Thus, they end up incurring the same fate as the previous communities of jinns and humans, who were also losers.

Watarahum yuAAradoona AAalayhakhashiAAeena mina alththulli yanthuroonamin tarfin khafiyyin waqala allatheena amanooinna alkhasireena allatheena khasiroo anfusahumwaahleehim yawma alqiyamati ala inna alththalimeenafee AAathabin muqeeminوتراهم يعرضون عليها خاشعين من الذل ينظرون من طرف خفي وقال الذين امنوا ان الخاسرين الذين خسروا انفسهم واهليهم يوم القيامة الا ان الظالمين في عذاب مقيم
[YA]: And thou wilt see them brought forward to the (Penalty), in a humble frame of mind because of (their) disgrace, (and) looking with a stealthy glance. And the Believers will say: "Those are indeed in loss, who have given to perdition their own selves and those belonging to them on the Day of Judgment. Behold! Truly the Wrong-doers are in a lasting Penalty!"

[RK]:You will see them facing it, humiliated and debased, and looking, yet trying to avoid looking. Those who believed will proclaim: "The real losers are those who lost their souls and their families on the Day of Resurrection. The transgressors have deserved an everlasting retribution."

Walillahi mulku alssamawatiwaal-ardi wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatuyawma-ithin yakhsaru almubtiloonaولله ملك السماوات والارض ويوم تقوم الساعة يومئذ يخسر المبطلون
[YA]: To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the dealers in Falsehood perish!

[RK]:To GOD belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. The day the Hour (Judgment) comes to pass, that is when the falsifiers lose.

Ola-ika allatheena haqqaAAalayhimu alqawlu fee umamin qad khalat min qablihim minaaljinni waal-insi innahum kanoo khasireenaاولئك الذين حق عليهم القول في امم قد خلت من قبلهم من الجن والانس انهم كانوا خاسرين
[YA]: Such are they against whom is proved the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, that have passed away; for they will be (utterly) lost.

[RK]:Such are the ones stamped as disbelievers among every generation of jinns and humans; they are losers.

Waaqeemoo alwazna bialqisti walatukhsiroo almeezanaواقيموا الوزن بالقسط ولاتخسروا الميزان
[YA]: So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.

[RK]:You shall establish justice; do not violate the law.

Istahwatha AAalayhimu alshshaytanufaansahum thikra Allahi ola-ika hizbualshshaytani ala inna hizba alshshaytanihumu alkhasiroonaاستحوذ عليهم الشيطان فانساهم ذكر الله اولئك حزب الشيطان الا ان حزب الشيطان هم الخاسرون
[YA]: The Evil One has got the better of them: so he has made them lose the remembrance of Allah. They are the Party of the Evil One. Truly, it is the Party of the Evil One that will perish!

[RK]:The devil has possessed them, and has caused them to disregard GOD's message. These are the party of the devil. Absolutely, the party of the devil are the losers.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukumAAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalikafaola-ika humu alkhasiroonaياايها الذين امنوا لاتلهكم اموالكم ولااولادكم عن ذكر الله ومن يفعل ذلك فاولئك هم الخاسرون
[YA]: O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own.

[RK]:O you who believe, do not be distracted by your money and your children from remembering GOD. Those who do this are the losers.

Fathaqat wabala amrihawakana AAaqibatu amriha khusranفذاقت وبال امرها وكان عاقبة امرها خسرا
[YA]: Then did they taste the evil result of their conduct, and the End of their conduct was Perdition.

[RK]:They suffered the consequences of their decisions; a profound loss.

Qala noohun rabbi innahum AAasawneewaittabaAAoo man lam yazidhu maluhu wawaladuhu illakhasaranقال نوح رب انهم عصوني واتبعوا من لم يزده ماله وولده الا خسارا
[YA]: Noah said: "O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss.

[RK]:Noah said, "My Lord, they disobeyed me, and followed those who were even more corrupted when blessed with money and children.

[YA]: They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

[RK]:They had said, "This is an impossible recurrence."

Wa-itha kaloohum aw wazanoohumyukhsiroonaواذا كالوهم او وزنوهم يخسرون
[YA]: But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due.

[RK]:But when giving them the measures or weights, they cheat.

Inna al-insana lafee khusrinان الانسان لفي خسر
[YA]: Verily Man is in loss,

[RK]:The human being is utterly lost.
