قلنا اهبطوا منها جميعا فاما ياتينكم مني هدي فمن تبع هداي فلاخوف عليهم ولاهم يحزنون

[YA]: We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

[RK]:We said, "Go down therefrom, all of you. When guidance comes to you from Me, those who follow My guidance will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

WaittabaAAoo ma tatloo alshshayateenuAAala mulki sulaymana wama kafara sulaymanuwalakinna alshshayateena kafarooyuAAallimoona alnnasa alssihra wamaonzila AAala almalakayni bibabila harootawamaroota wama yuAAallimani min ahadinhatta yaqoola innama nahnufitnatun fala takfur fayataAAallamoona minhuma mayufarriqoona bihi bayna almar-i wazawjihi wama hum bidarreenabihi min ahadin illa bi-ithni AllahiwayataAAallamoona ma yadurruhum walayanfaAAuhum walaqad AAalimoo lamani ishtarahu malahu fee al-akhirati min khalaqin walabi/sa masharaw bihi anfusahum law kanoo yaAAlamoona

واتبعوا ماتتلو الشياطين علي ملك سليمان وماكفر سليمان ولكن الشياطين كفروا يعلمون الناس السحر وماانزل علي الملكين ببابل هاروت وماروت ومايعلمان من احد حتي يقولا انما نحن فتنة فلا تكفر فيتعلمون منهما مايفرقون به بين المرء وزوجه وماهم بضارين به من احد الا باذن الله ويتعلمون مايضرهم ولاينفعهم ولقد علموا لمن اشتراه ماله في الاخرة من خلاق ولبئس ماشروا به انفسهم لو كانوا يعلمون

[YA]: They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

[RK]:They pursued what the devils taught concerning Solomon's kingdom. Solomon, however, was not a disbeliever, but the devils were disbelievers. They taught the people sorcery, and that which was sent down through the two angels of Babel, Haroot and Maroot. These two did not divulge such knowledge without pointing out: "This is a test. You shall not abuse such knowledge." But the people used it in such evil schemes as the breaking up of marriages. They can never harm anyone against the will of GOD. They thus learn what hurts them, not what benefits them, and they know full well that whoever practices witchcraft will have no share in the Hereafter. Miserable indeed is what they sell their souls for, if they only knew.

Walan tarda AAanka alyahoodu walaalnnasara hatta tattabiAAamillatahum qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhudawala-ini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda allathee jaakamina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin walanaseerin

ولن ترضي عنك اليهود ولاالنصاري حتي تتبع ملتهم قل ان هدي الله هو الهدي ولئن اتبعت اهواءهم بعد الذي جاءك من العلم مالك من الله من ولي ولانصير

[YA]: Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah.

[RK]:Neither the Jews, nor the Christians, will accept you, unless you follow their religion. Say, "GOD's guidance is the true guidance." If you acquiesce to their wishes, despite the knowledge you have received, you will find no ally or supporter to help you against GOD.

Wakathalika jaAAalnakumommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasiwayakoona alrrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wamajaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illalinaAAlama man yattabiAAu alrrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAalaAAaqibayhi wa-in kanat lakabeeratan illa AAalaallatheena hada Allahu wama kanaAllahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allahabialnnasi laraoofun raheemun

وكذلك جعلناكم امة وسطا لتكونوا شهداء علي الناس ويكون الرسول عليكم شهيدا وماجعلنا القبلة التي كنت عليهاالا لنعلم من يتبع الرسول ممن ينقلب علي عقبيه وان كانت لكبيرة الا علي الذين هدي الله وماكان الله ليضيع ايمانكم ان الله بالناس لرؤوف رحيم

[YA]: Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.

[RK]:We thus made you an impartial community, that you may serve as witnesses among the people, and the messenger serves as a witness among you. We changed the direction of your original Qiblah only to distinguish those among you who readily follow the messenger from those who would turn back on their heels. It was a difficult test, but not for those who are guided by GOD. GOD never puts your worship to waste. GOD is Compassionate towards the people, Most Merciful.

Wala-in atayta allatheena ootooalkitaba bikulli ayatin ma tabiAAooqiblataka wama anta bitabiAAin qiblatahum wamabaAAduhum bitabiAAin qiblata baAAdinwala-ini ittabaAAta ahwaahum min baAAdi ma jaakamina alAAilmi innaka ithan lamina alththalimeena

ولئن اتيت الذين اوتوا الكتاب بكل اية ماتبعوا قبلتك وماانت بتابع قبلتهم ومابعضهم بتابع قبلة بعض ولئن اتبعت اهواءهم من بعد ماجاءك من العلم انك اذا لمن الظالمين

[YA]: Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong.

[RK]:Even if you show the followers of the scripture every kind of miracle, they will not follow your Qiblah. Nor shall you follow their Qiblah. They do not even follow each others' Qiblah. If you acquiesce to their wishes, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will belong with the transgressors.

اذ تبرا الذين اتبعوا من الذين اتبعوا وراوا العذاب وتقطعت بهم الاسباب

[YA]: Then would those who are followed clear themselves of those who follow (them) : They would see the penalty, and all relations between them would be cut off.

[RK]:Those who were followed will disown those who followed them. They will see the retribution, and all ties among them will be severed.

اذ تبرا الذين اتبعوا من الذين اتبعوا وراوا العذاب وتقطعت بهم الاسباب

Waqala allatheena ittabaAAoolaw anna lana karratan fanatabarraa minhum kamatabarraoo minna kathalika yureehimu AllahuaAAmalahum hasaratin AAalayhim wamahum bikharijeena mina alnnari

وقال الذين اتبعوا لو ان لنا كرة فنتبرا منهم كما تبرؤوا منا كذلك يريهم الله اعمالهم حسرات عليهم وماهم بخارجين من النار

[YA]: And those who followed would say: "If only We had one more chance, We would clear ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets. Nor will there be a way for them out of the Fire.

[RK]:Those who followed will say, "If we can get another chance, we will disown them, as they have disowned us now." GOD thus shows them the consequences of their works as nothing but remorse; they will never exit Hell.

Ya ayyuha alnnasukuloo mimma fee al-ardi halalan tayyibanwala tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytaniinnahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

ياايها الناس كلوا مما في الارض حلالا طيبا ولاتتبعوا خطوات الشيطان انه لكم عدو مبين

[YA]: O ye people! Eat of what is on earth, Lawful and good; and do not follow the footsteps of the evil one, for he is to you an avowed enemy.

[RK]:O people, eat from the earth's products all that is lawful and good, and do not follow the steps of Satan; he is your most ardent enemy.

Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma alfaynaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAqiloona shay-an wala yahtadoona

واذا قيل لهم اتبعوا ماانزل الله قالوا بل نتبع ماالفينا عليه اباءنا اولو كان اباؤهم لايعقلون شيئا ولايهتدون

[YA]: When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance?

[RK]:When they are told, "Follow what GOD has revealed herein," they say, "We follow only what we found our parents doing." What if their parents did not understand, and were not guided?

Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma alfaynaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAqiloona shay-an wala yahtadoona

واذا قيل لهم اتبعوا ماانزل الله قالوا بل نتبع ماالفينا عليه اباءنا اولو كان اباؤهم لايعقلون شيئا ولايهتدون

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookutiba AAalaykumu alqisasu fee alqatla alhurrubialhurri waalAAabdu bialAAabdi waalonthabialontha faman AAufiya lahu min akheehi shay-on faittibaAAunbialmaAAroofi waadaon ilayhi bi-ihsaninthalika takhfeefun min rabbikum warahmatun famaniiAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabunaleemun

ياايها الذين امنوا كتب عليكم القصاص في القتلي الحر بالحر والعبد بالعبد والانثي بالانثي فمن عفي له من اخيه شئ فاتباع بالمعروف واداء اليه باحسان ذلك تخفيف من ربكم ورحمة فمن اعتدي بعد ذلك فله عذاب اليم

[YA]: O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits shall be in grave penalty.

[RK]:O you who believe, equivalence is the law decreed for you when dealing with murder - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. If one is pardoned by the victim's kin, an appreciative response is in order, and an equitable compensation shall be paid. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. Anyone who transgresses beyond this incurs a painful retribution.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooodkhuloo fee alssilmi kaffatan walatattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytaniinnahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

ياايها الذين امنوا ادخلوا في السلم كافة ولاتتبعوا خطوات الشيطان انه لكم عدو مبين

[YA]: O ye who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is to you an avowed enemy.

[RK]:O you who believe, you shall embrace total submission; do not follow the steps of Satan, for he is your most ardent enemy.

Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahumfee sabeeli Allahi thumma la yutbiAAoona maanfaqoo mannan wala athan lahum ajruhum AAindarabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

الذين ينفقون اموالهم في سبيل الله ثم لايتبعون ماانفقوا منا ولا اذي لهم اجرهم عند ربهم ولاخوف عليهم ولاهم يحزنون

[YA]: Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury,-for them their reward is with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

[RK]:Those who spend their money in the cause of GOD, then do not follow their charity with insult or harm, will receive their recompense from their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

Qawlun maAAroofun wamaghfiratun khayrun minsadaqatin yatbaAAuha athan waAllahughaniyyun haleemun

قول معروف ومغفرة خير من صدقة يتبعها اذي والله غني حليم

[YA]: Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing.

[RK]:Kind words and compassion are better than a charity that is followed by insult. GOD is Rich, Clement.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tadayantum bidaynin ila ajalin musammanfaoktuboohu walyaktub baynakum katibun bialAAadliwala ya/ba katibun an yaktuba kamaAAallamahu Allahu falyaktub walyumlili allatheeAAalayhi alhaqqu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu walayabkhas minhu shay-an fa-in kana allathee AAalayhialhaqqu safeehan aw daAAeefan aw la yastateeAAuan yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhu bialAAadli waistashhidooshaheedayni min rijalikum fa-in lam yakoonarajulayni farajulun waimraatani mimman tardawnamina alshshuhada-i an tadilla ihdahumafatuthakkira ihdahuma al-okhrawala ya/ba alshshuhadao itha maduAAoo wala tas-amoo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ila ajalihi thalikum aqsatu AAindaAllahi waaqwamu lilshshahadati waadnaalla tartaboo illa an takoona tijaratanhadiratan tudeeroonaha baynakum falaysa AAalaykumjunahun alla taktubooha waashhidoo ithatabayaAAtum wala yudarra katibun walashaheedun wa-in tafAAaloo fa-innahu fusooqun bikum waittaqooAllaha wayuAAallimukumu Allahu waAllahubikulli shay-in AAaleemun

ياايها الذين امنوا اذا تداينتم بدين الي اجل مسمي فاكتبوه وليكتب بينكم كاتب بالعدل ولاياب كاتب ان يكتب كما علمه الله فليكتب وليملل الذي عليه الحق وليتق الله ربه ولايبخس منه شيئا فان كان الذي عليه الحق سفيها او ضعيفا او لايستطيع ان يمل هو فليملل وليه بالعدل واستشهدوا شهيدين من رجالكم فان لم يكونا رجلين فرجل وامراتان ممن ترضون من الشهداء ان تضل احداهما فتذكر احداهما الاخري ولاياب الشهداء اذا مادعوا ولاتساموا ان تكتبوه صغيرا او كبيرا الي اجله ذلكم اقسط عند الله واقوم للشهادة وادني الا ترتابوا الا ان تكون تجارة حاضرة تديرونها بينكم فليس عليكم جناح الا تكتبوها واشهدوا اذا تبايعتم ولايضار كاتب ولاشهيد وان تفعلوا فانه فسوق بكم واتقوا الله ويعلمكم الله والله بكل شئ عليم

[YA]: O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If they party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction which ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear Allah; For it is Good that teaches you. And Allah is well acquainted with all things. If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, let the trustee (faithfully) discharge his trust, and let him Fear his Lord conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it, - his heart is tainted with sin. And Allah knoweth all that ye do.

[RK]:O you who believe, when you transact a loan for any period, you shall write it down. An impartial scribe shall do the writing. No scribe shall refuse to perform this service, according to GOD's teachings. He shall write, while the debtor dictates the terms. He shall observe GOD his Lord and never cheat. If the debtor is mentally incapable, or helpless, or cannot dictate, his guardian shall dictate equitably. Two men shall serve as witnesses; if not two men, then a man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all. Thus, if one woman becomes biased, the other will remind her. It is the obligation of the witnesses to testify when called upon to do so. Do not tire of writing the details, no matter how long, including the time of repayment. This is equitable in the sight of GOD, assures better witnessing, and eliminates any doubts you may have. Business transactions that you execute on the spot need not be recorded, but have them witnessed. No scribe or witness shall be harmed on account of his services. If you harm them, it would be wickedness on your part. You shall observe GOD, and GOD will teach you. GOD is Omniscient.

Huwa allathee anzala AAalayka alkitabaminhu ayatun muhkamatun hunna ommualkitabi waokharu mutashabihatun faammaallatheena fee quloobihim zayghun fayattabiAAoona matashabaha minhu ibtighaa alfitnati waibtighaata/weelihi wama yaAAlamu ta/weelahu illa Allahuwaalrrasikhoona fee alAAilmi yaqooloona amannabihi kullun min AAindi rabbina wama yaththakkaruilla oloo al-albabi

هو الذي انزل عليك الكتاب منه ايات محكمات هن ام الكتاب واخر متشابهات فاما الذين في قلوبهم زيغ فيتبعون ماتشابه منه ابتغاء الفتنة وابتغاء تاويله ومايعلم تاويله الا الله والراسخون في العلم يقولون امنا به كل من عند ربنا ومايذكر الا اولوا الالباب

[YA]: He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

[RK]:He sent down to you this scripture, containing straightforward verses - which constitute the essence of the scripture - as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses. Those who harbor doubts in their hearts will pursue the multiple-meaning verses to create confusion, and to extricate a certain meaning. None knows the true meaning thereof except GOD and those well founded in knowledge. They say, "We believe in this - all of it comes from our Lord." Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.

Fa-in hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiyalillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootooalkitaba waal-ommiyyeena aaslamtum fa-inaslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innama AAalaykaalbalaghu waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

فان حاجوك فقل اسلمت وجهي لله ومن اتبعن وقل للذين اوتوا الكتاب والاميين ءاسلمتم فان اسلموا فقد اهتدوا وان تولوا فانما عليك البلاغ والله بصير بالعباد

[YA]: So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.

[RK]:If they argue with you, then say, "I have simply submitted myself to GOD; I and those who follow me." You shall proclaim to those who received the scripture, as well as those who did not, "Would you submit?" If they submit, then they have been guided, but if they turn away, your sole mission is to deliver this message. GOD is Seer of all people.

Qul in kuntum tuhibboona AllahafaittabiAAoonee yuhbibkumu Allahu wayaghfirlakum thunoobakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

قل ان كنتم تحبون الله فاتبعوني يحببكم الله ويغفر لكم ذنوبكم والله غفور رحيم

[YA]: Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

[RK]:Proclaim: "If you love GOD, you should follow me." GOD will then love you, and forgive your sins. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

Rabbana amanna bimaanzalta waittabaAAna alrrasoola faoktubnamaAAa alshshahideena

ربنا امنا بما انزلت واتبعنا الرسول فاكتبنا مع الشاهدين

[YA]: "Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger; then write us down among those who bear witness."

[RK]:"Our Lord, we have believed in what You have sent down, and we have followed the messenger; count us among the witnesses."

Ith qala Allahu yaAAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhirukamina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheenaittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmialqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumubaynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

اذ قال الله ياعيسي اني متوفيك ورافعك الي ومطهرك من الذين كفروا وجاعل الذين اتبعوك فوق الذين كفروا الي يوم القيامة ثم الي مرجعكم فاحكم بينكم فيما كنتم فيه تختلفون

[YA]: Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.

[RK]:Thus, GOD said, "O Jesus, I am terminating your life, raising you to Me, and ridding you of the disbelievers. I will exalt those who follow you above those who disbelieve, till the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is the ultimate destiny of all of you, then I will judge among you regarding your disputes.

Inna awla alnnasibi-ibraheema lallatheena ittabaAAoohu wahathaalnnabiyyu waallatheena amanoo waAllahuwaliyyu almu/mineena

ان اولي الناس بابراهيم للذين اتبعوه وهذا النبي والذين امنوا والله ولي المؤمنين

[YA]: Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: And Allah is the Protector of those who have faith.

[RK]:The people most worthy of Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe. GOD is the Lord and Master of the believers.

Wala tu/minoo illa limantabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahian yu/ta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookumAAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahiyu/teehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAunAAaleemun

ولاتؤمنوا الا لمن تبع دينكم قل ان الهدي هدي الله ان يؤتي احد مثل مااوتيتم او يحاجوكم عند ربكم قل ان الفضل بيد الله يؤتيه من يشاء والله واسع عليم

[YA]: "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."

[RK]:"And do not believe except as those who follow your religion." Say, "The true guidance is GOD's guidance." If they claim that they have the same guidance, or argue with you about your Lord, say, "All grace is in GOD's hand; He bestows it upon whomever He wills." GOD is Bounteous, Omniscient.

قل صدق الله فاتبعوا ملة ابراهيم حنيفا وماكان من المشركين

[YA]: Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans."

[RK]:Say, "GOD has proclaimed the truth: You shall follow Abraham's religion - monotheism. He never was an idolater."

افمن اتبع رضوان الله كمن باء بسخط من الله وماواه جهنم وبئس المصير

[YA]: Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A woeful refuge!

[RK]:Is one who pursues GOD's pleasure the same as one who incurs wrath from GOD and his destiny is Hell, the most miserable abode?

WaliyaAAlama allatheena nafaqoowaqeela lahum taAAalaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahiawi idfaAAoo qaloo law naAAlamu qitalan laittabaAAnakumhum lilkufri yawma-ithin aqrabu minhum lil-eemaniyaqooloona bi-afwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim waAllahuaAAlamu bima yaktumoona

وليعلم الذين نافقوا وقيل لهم تعالوا قاتلوا في سبيل الله او ادفعوا قالوا لو نعلم قتالا لاتبعناكم هم للكفر يومئذ اقرب منهم للايمان يقولون بافواههم ماليس في قلوبهم والله اعلم بما يكتمون

[YA]: And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal.

[RK]:And to expose the hypocrites who were told, "Come fight in the cause of GOD, or contribute." They said, "If we knew how to fight, we would have joined you." They were closer to disbelief then than they were to belief. They uttered with their mouths what was not in their hearts. GOD knows what they conceal.

Fainqalaboo biniAAmatin mina Allahiwafadlin lam yamsas-hum soo-on waittabaAAoo ridwanaAllahi waAllahu thoo fadlinAAatheemin

فانقلبوا بنعمة من الله وفضل لم يمسسهم سوء واتبعوا رضوان الله والله ذو فضل عظيم

[YA]: And they returned with Grace and bounty from Allah: no harm ever touched them: For they followed the good pleasure of Allah: And Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded.

[RK]:They have deserved GOD's blessings and grace. No harm ever touches them, for they have attained GOD's approval. GOD possesses infinite grace.

والله يريد ان يتوب عليكم ويريد الذين يتبعون الشهوات ان تميلوا ميلا عظيما

[YA]: Allah doth wish to Turn to you, but the wish of those who follow their lusts is that ye should turn away (from Him),- far, far away.

[RK]:GOD wishes to redeem you, while those who pursue their lusts wish that you deviate a great deviation.

Wa-itha jaahum amrun minaal-amni awi alkhawfi athaAAoo bihi walaw raddoohu ilaalrrasooli wa-ila olee al-amri minhum laAAalimahuallatheena yastanbitoonahu minhum walawla fadluAllahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu laittabaAAtumualshshaytana illa qaleelan

واذا جاءهم امر من الامن او الخوف اذاعوا به ولو ردوه الي الرسول والي اولي الامر منهم لعلمه الذين يستنبطونه منهم ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته لاتبعتم الشيطان الا قليلا

[YA]: When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan.

[RK]:When a rumor that affects security comes their way, they spread it. Had they referred it to the messenger, and those in charge among them, those who understand these matters would have informed them. If it were not for GOD's grace towards you, and His mercy, you would have followed the devil, except a few.

Wama kana limu/minin anyaqtula mu/minan illa khataan waman qatala mu/minankhataan fatahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin wadiyatunmusallamatun ila ahlihi illa an yassaddaqoofa-in kana min qawmin AAaduwwin lakum wahuwa mu/minun fatahreeruraqabatin mu/minatin wa-in kana min qawmin baynakumwabaynahum meethaqun fadiyatun musallamatun ilaahlihi watahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin faman lam yajid fasiyamushahrayni mutatabiAAayni tawbatan mina Allahi wakanaAllahu AAaleeman hakeeman

وماكان لمؤمن ا ن يقتل مؤمنا الا خطا ومن قتل مؤمنا خطا فتحرير رقبة مؤمنة ودية مسلمة الي اهله الا ان يصدقوا فان كان من قوم عدو لكم وهو مؤمن فتحرير رقبة مؤمنة وان كان من قوم بينكم وبينهم ميثاق فدية مسلمة الي اهله وتحرير رقبة مؤمنة فمن لم يجد فصيام شهرين متتابعين توبة من الله وكان الله عليما حكيما

[YA]: Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due): If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah: for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom.

[RK]:No believer shall kill another believer, unless it is an accident. If one kills a believer by accident, he shall atone by freeing a believing slave, and paying a compensation to the victim's family, unless they forfeit such a compensation as a charity. If the victim belonged to people who are at war with you, though he was a believer, you shall atone by freeing a believing slave. If he belonged to people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, you shall pay the compensation in addition to freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find a slave to free, you shall atone by fasting two consecutive months, in order to be redeemed by GOD. GOD is Knower, Most Wise.

Waman yushaqiqi alrrasoolamin baAAdi ma tabayyana lahu alhuda wayattabiAAghayra sabeeli almu/mineena nuwallihi ma tawallawanuslihi jahannama wasaat maseeran

ومن يشاقق الرسول من بعد ماتبين له الهدي ويتبع غير سبيل المؤمنين نوله ماتولي ونصله جهنم وساءت مصيرا

[YA]: If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming to men of Faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in Hell,- what an evil refuge!

[RK]:As for him who opposes the messenger, after the guidance has been pointed out to him, and follows other than the believers' way, we will direct him in the direction he has chosen, and commit him to Hell; what a miserable destiny!

Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslamawajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun waittabaAAamillata ibraheema haneefan waittakhathaAllahu ibraheema khaleelan

ومن احسن دينا ممن اسلم وجهه لله وهو محسن واتبع ملة ابراهيم حنيفا واتخذ الله ابراهيم خليلا

[YA]: Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.

[RK]:Who is better guided in his religion than one who submits totally to GOD, leads a righteous life, according to the creed of Abraham: monotheism? GOD has chosen Abraham as a beloved friend.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena bialqisti shuhadaalillahi walaw AAala anfusikum awi alwalidayniwaal-aqrabeena in yakun ghaniyyan aw faqeeran faAllahuawla bihima fala tattabiAAoo alhawaan taAAdiloo wa-in talwoo aw tuAAridoo fa-inna Allahakana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran

ياايها الذين امنوا كونوا قوامين بالقسط شهداء لله ولو علي انفسكم او الوالدين والاقربين ان يكن غنيا او فقيرا فالله اولي بهما فلا تتبعوا الهوي ان تعدلوا وان تلووا او تعرضوا فان الله كان بما تعملون خبيرا

[YA]: O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

[RK]:O you who believe, you shall be absolutely equitable, and observe GOD, when you serve as witnesses, even against yourselves, or your parents, or your relatives. Whether the accused is rich or poor, GOD takes care of both. Therefore, do not be biased by your personal wishes. If you deviate or disregard (this commandment), then GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

Waqawlihim inna qatalnaalmaseeha AAeesa ibna maryama rasoola Allahiwama qataloohu wama salaboohu walakinshubbiha lahum wa-inna allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi lafeeshakkin minhu ma lahum bihi min AAilmin illa ittibaAAaalththanni wama qataloohu yaqeenan

وقولهم انا قتلنا المسيح عيسي ابن مريم رسول الله وماقتلوه وماصلبوه ولكن شبه لهم وان الذين اختلفوا فيه لفي شك منه مالهم به من علم الا اتباع الظن وماقتلوه يقينا

[YA]: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

[RK]:And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.

Yahdee bihi Allahu mani ittabaAAa ridwanahusubula alssalami wayukhrijuhum mina alththulumatiila alnnoori bi-ithnihi wayahdeehim ilasiratin mustaqeemin

يهدي به الله من اتبع رضوانه سبل السلام ويخرجهم من الظلمات الي النور باذنه ويهديهم الي صراط مستقيم

[YA]: Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight.

[RK]:With it, GOD guides those who seek His approval. He guides them to the paths of peace, leads them out of darkness into the light by His leave, and guides them in a straight path.

Waanzalna ilayka alkitaba bialhaqqimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina alkitabiwamuhayminan AAalayhi faohkum baynahum bimaanzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum AAammajaaka mina alhaqqi likullin jaAAalna minkumshirAAatan waminhajan walaw shaa AllahulajaAAalakum ommatan wahidatan walakin liyabluwakumfeema atakum faistabiqoo alkhayratiila Allahi marjiAAukum jameeAAan fayunabbi-okum bimakuntum feehi takhtalifoona

وانزلنا اليك الكتاب بالحق مصدقا لما بين يديه من الكتاب ومهيمنا عليه فاحكم بينهم بما انزل الله ولاتتبع اهواءهم عما جاءك من الحق لكل جعلنا منكم شرعة ومنهاجا ولو شاء الله لجعلكم امة واحدة ولكن ليبلوكم فيما اتاكم فاستبقوا الخيرات الي الله مرجعكم جميعا فينبئكم بما كنتم فيه تختلفون

[YA]: To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;

[RK]:Then we revealed to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming previous scriptures, and superseding them. You shall rule among them in accordance with GOD's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. For each of you, we have decreed laws and different rites. Had GOD willed, He could have made you one congregation. But He thus puts you to the test through the revelations He has given each of you. You shall compete in righteousness. To GOD is your final destiny - all of you - then He will inform you of everything you had disputed.

Waani ohkum baynahum bimaanzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum waihtharhuman yaftinooka AAan baAAdi ma anzala Allahuilayka fa-in tawallaw faiAAlam annama yureedu Allahuan yuseebahum bibaAAdi thunoobihim wa-innakatheeran mina alnnasi lafasiqoona

وان احكم بينهم بما انزل الله ولاتتبع اهواءهم واحذرهم ان يفتنوك عن بعض ماانزل الله اليك فان تولوا فاعلم انما يريد الله ان يصيبهم ببعض ذنوبهم وان كثيرا من الناس لفاسقون

[YA]: And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.

[RK]:You shall rule among them in accordance with GOD's revelations to you. Do not follow their wishes, and beware lest they divert you from some of GOD's revelations to you. If they turn away, then know that GOD wills to punish them for some of their sins. Indeed, many people are wicked.

Qul ya ahla alkitabi lataghloo fee deenikum ghayra alhaqqi wala tattabiAAooahwaa qawmin qad dalloo min qablu waadallookatheeran wadalloo AAan sawa-i alssabeeli

قل يااهل الكتاب لاتغلوا في دينكم غير الحق ولاتتبعوا اهواء قوم قد ضلوا من قبل واضلوا كثيرا وضلوا عن سواء السبيل

[YA]: Say: "O people of the Book! exceed not in your religion the bounds (of what is proper), trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by,- who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the even way.

[RK]:Say, "O people of the scripture, do not transgress the limits of your religion beyond the truth, and do not follow the opinions of people who have gone astray, and have misled multitudes of people; they are far astray from the right path."

Qul la aqoolu lakum AAindee khaza-inuAllahi wala aAAlamu alghayba wala aqoolulakum innee malakun in attabiAAu illa ma yoohailayya qul hal yastawee al-aAAma waalbaseeruafala tatafakkaroona

قل لااقول لكم عندي خزائن الله ولااعلم الغيب ولااقول لكم اني ملك ان اتبع الا مايوحي الي قل هل يستوي الاعمي والبصير افلا تتفكرون

[YA]: Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not?

[RK]:Say, "I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of GOD. Nor do I know the future. Nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I simply follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind the same as the seer? Do you not reflect?"

Qul innee nuheetu an aAAbuda allatheenatadAAoona min dooni Allahi qul la attabiAAu ahwaakumqad dalaltu ithan wama ana minaalmuhtadeena

قل اني نهيت ان اعبد الذين تدعون من دون الله قل لااتبع اهواءكم قد ضللت اذا وما انا من المهتدين

[YA]: Say: "I am forbidden to worship those - others than Allah - whom ye call upon." Say: "I will not follow your wain desires: If I did, I would stray from the path, and be not of the company of those who receive guidance."

[RK]:Say, "I am forbidden from worshipping what you worship besides GOD." Say, "I will not follow your opinions. Otherwise, I will go astray, and not be guided."

IttabiAA ma oohiya ilayka minrabbika la ilaha illa huwa waaAAridAAani almushrikeena

اتبع مااوحي اليك من ربك لا اله الا هو واعرض عن المشركين

[YA]: Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord: there is no god but He: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah.

[RK]:Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord, there is no god except He, and disregard the idol worshipers.

Wa-in tutiAA akthara man fee al-ardiyudillooka AAan sabeeli Allahi in yattabiAAoona illaalththanna wa-in hum illa yakhrusoona

وان تطع اكثر من في الارض يضلوك عن سبيل الله ان يتبعون الا الظن وان هم الا يخرصون

[YA]: Wert thou to follow the common run of those on earth, they will lead thee away from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture: they do nothing but lie.

[RK]:If you obey the majority of people on earth, they will divert you from the path of GOD. They follow only conjecture; they only guess.

Wamina al-anAAami hamoolatanwafarshan kuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahu walatattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytaniinnahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

ومن الانعام حمولة وفرشا كلوا مما رزقكم الله ولاتتبعوا خطوات الشيطان انه لكم عدو مبين

[YA]: Of the cattle are some for burden and some for meat: eat what Allah hath provided for you, and follow not the footsteps of Satan: for he is to you and avowed enemy.

[RK]:Some livestock supply you with transportation, as well as bedding materials. Eat from GOD's provisions to you, and do not follow the steps of Satan; he is your most ardent enemy.

Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaaAllahu ma ashrakna wala abaonawala harramna min shay-in kathalikakaththaba allatheena min qablihim hattathaqoo ba/sana qul hal AAindakum min AAilminfatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththannawa-in antum illa takhrusoona

سيقول الذين اشركوا لو شاء الله مااشركنا ولااباؤنا ولاحرمنا من شئ كذلك كذب الذين من قبلهم حتي ذاقوا باسنا قل هل عندكم من علم فتخرجوه لنا ان تتبعون الا الظن وان انتم الا تخرصون

[YA]: Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."

[RK]:The idol worshipers say, "Had GOD willed, we would not practice idolatry, nor would our parents, nor would we prohibit anything." Thus did those before them disbelieve, until they incurred our retribution. Say, "Do you have any proven knowledge that you can show us? You follow nothing but conjecture; you only guess."

Qul halumma shuhadaakumu allatheenayashhadoona anna Allaha harrama hatha fa-inshahidoo fala tashhad maAAahum wala tattabiAA ahwaaallatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinawaallatheena la yu/minoona bial-akhiratiwahum birabbihim yaAAdiloona

قل هلم شهداءكم الذين يشهدون ان الله حرم هذا فان شهدوا فلا تشهد معهم ولاتتبع اهواء الذين كذبوا باياتنا والذين لايؤمنون بالاخرة وهم بربهم يعدلون

[YA]: Say: "Bring forward your witnesses to prove that Allah did forbid so and so." If they bring such witnesses, be not thou amongst them: Nor follow thou the vain desires of such as treat our signs as falsehoods, and such as believe not in the Hereafter: for they hold others as equal with their Guardian-Lord.

[RK]:Say, "Bring your witnesses who would testify that GOD has prohibited this or that." If they testify, do not testify with them. Nor shall you follow the opinions of those who reject our revelations, and those who disbelieve in the Hereafter, and those who stray away from their Lord.

Waanna hatha sirateemustaqeeman faittabiAAoohu wala tattabiAAoo alssubulafatafarraqa bikum AAan sabeelihi thalikum wassakumbihi laAAallakum tattaqoona

وان هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه ولاتتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم تتقون

[YA]: Verily, this is My way, leading straight: follow it: follow not (other) paths: they will scatter you about from His (great) path: thus doth He command you. that ye may be righteous.

[RK]:This is My path - a straight one. You shall follow it, and do not follow any other paths, lest they divert you from His path. These are His commandments to you, that you may be saved.
