Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookutiba AAalaykumu alqisasu fee alqatla alhurrubialhurri waalAAabdu bialAAabdi waalonthabialontha faman AAufiya lahu min akheehi shay-on faittibaAAunbialmaAAroofi waadaon ilayhi bi-ihsaninthalika takhfeefun min rabbikum warahmatun famaniiAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabunaleemunياايها الذين امنوا كتب عليكم القصاص في القتلي الحر بالحر والعبد بالعبد والانثي بالانثي فمن عفي له من اخيه شئ فاتباع بالمعروف واداء اليه باحسان ذلك تخفيف من ربكم ورحمة فمن اعتدي بعد ذلك فله عذاب اليم
[YA]: O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits shall be in grave penalty.

[RK]:O you who believe, equivalence is the law decreed for you when dealing with murder - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. If one is pardoned by the victim's kin, an appreciative response is in order, and an equitable compensation shall be paid. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. Anyone who transgresses beyond this incurs a painful retribution.

[YA]: In the Law of Equality there is (saving of) Life to you, o ye men of understanding; that ye may restrain yourselves.

[RK]:Equivalence is a life saving law for you, O you who possess intelligence, that you may be righteous.

Alshshahru alharamu bialshshahrialharami waalhurumatu qisasunfamani iAAtada AAalaykum faiAAtadoo AAalayhibimithli ma iAAtada AAalaykum waittaqoo AllahawaiAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAa almuttaqeenaالشهر الحرام بالشهر الحرام والحرمات قصاص فمن اعتدي عليكم فاعتدوا عليه بمثل مااعتدي عليكم واتقوا الله واعلموا ان الله مع المتقين
[YA]: The prohibited month for the prohibited month,- and so for all things prohibited,- there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

[RK]:During the Sacred Months, aggression may be met by an equivalent response. If they attack you, you may retaliate by inflicting an equitable retribution. You shall observe GOD and know that GOD is with the righteous.

[YA]: This is the true account: There is no god except Allah; and Allah-He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise.

[RK]:Absolutely, this is the narration of the truth. Absolutely, there is no god except GOD. Absolutely, GOD is the Almighty, Most Wise.

Warusulan qad qasasnahumAAalayka min qablu warusulan lam naqsushum AAalaykawakallama Allahu moosa takleemanورسلا قد قصصناهم عليك من قبل ورسلا لم نقصصهم عليك وكلم الله موسي تكليما
[YA]: Of some messengers We have already told thee the story; of others We have not;- and to Moses Allah spoke direct;-

[RK]:Messengers we have told you about, and messengers we never told you about. And GOD spoke to Moses directly.

Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha annaalnnafsa bialnnafsi waalAAayna bialAAayniwaal-anfa bial-anfi waalothuna bialothuniwaalssinna bialssinni waaljurooha qisasunfaman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu wamanlam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu alththalimoonaوكتبنا عليهم فيها ان النفس بالنفس والعين بالعين والانف بالانف والاذن بالاذن والسن بالسن والجروح قصاص فمن تصدق به فهو كفارة له ومن لم يحكم بما انزل الله فاولئك هم الظالمون
[YA]: We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrong-doers.

[RK]:And we decreed for them in it that: the life for the life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and an equivalent injury for any injury. If one forfeits what is due to him as a charity, it will atone for his sins. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the unjust.

Qul innee AAala bayyinatin min rabbeewakaththabtum bihi ma AAindee matastaAAjiloona bihi ini alhukmu illa lillahiyaqussu alhaqqa wahuwa khayru alfasileenaقل اني علي بينة من ربي وكذبتم به ماعندي ماتستعجلون به ان الحكم الا لله يقص الحق وهو خير الفاصلين
[YA]: Say: "For me, I (work) on a clear sign from my Lord, but ye reject Him. What ye would see hastened, is not in my power. The command rests with none but Allah: He declares the truth, and He is the best of judges."

[RK]:Say, "I have solid proof from my Lord, and you have rejected it. I do not control the retribution you challenge me to bring. Judgment belongs with GOD alone. He narrates the truth, and He is the best judge."

Ya maAAshara aljinni waal-insialam ya/tikum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayateewayunthiroonakum liqaa yawmikum hatha qalooshahidna AAala anfusina wagharrat-humu alhayatualddunya washahidoo AAala anfusihim annahumkanoo kafireenaيامعشر الجن والانس الم ياتكم رسل منكم يقصون عليكم اياتي وينذرونكم لقاء يومكم هذا قالوا شهدنا علي انفسنا وغرتهم الحياة الدنيا وشهدوا علي انفسهم انهم كانوا كافرين
[YA]: "O ye assembly of Jinns and men! came there not unto you messengers from amongst you, setting forth unto you My signs, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. So against themselves will they bear witness that they rejected Faith.

[RK]:O you jinns and humans, did you not receive messengers from among you, who narrated to you My revelations, and warned you about the meeting of this day? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." They were totally preoccupied with the worldly life, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

Ya banee adama immaya/tiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayateefamani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfunAAalayhim wala hum yahzanoonaيابني ادم اما ياتينكم رسل منكم يقصون عليكم اياتي فمن اتقي واصلح فلاخوف عليهم ولاهم يحزنون
[YA]: O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you messengers from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

[RK]:O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

[YA]: If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

[RK]:Had we willed, we could have elevated him therewith, but he insisted on sticking to the ground, and pursued his own opinions. Thus, he is like the dog; whether you pet him or scold him, he pants. Such is the example of people who reject our proofs. Narrate these narrations, that they may reflect.

Nahnu naqussu AAalayka ahsanaalqasasi bima awhayna ilayka hathaalqur-ana wa-in kunta min qablihi lamina alghafileenaنحن نقص عليك احسن القصص بما اوحينا اليك هذا القران وان كنت من قبله لمن الغافلين
[YA]: We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not.

[RK]:We narrate to you the most accurate history through the revelation of this Quran. Before this, you were totally unaware.

Qala ya bunayya la taqsusru/yaka AAala ikhwatika fayakeedoo laka kaydan innaalshshaytana lil-insani AAaduwwun mubeenunقال يابني لاتقصص رءياك علي اخوتك فيكيدوا لك كيدا ان الشيطان للانسان عدو مبين
[YA]: Said (the father): "My (dear) little son! relate not thy vision to thy brothers, lest they concoct a plot against thee: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy!

[RK]:He said, "My son, do not tell your brothers about your dream, lest they plot and scheme against you. Surely, the devil is man's worst enemy.

Laqad kana fee qasasihimAAibratun li-olee al-albabi ma kana hadeethanyuftara walakin tasdeeqa allatheebayna yadayhi watafseela kulli shay-in wahudan warahmatanliqawmin yu/minoonaلقد كان في قصصهم عبرة لاولي الالباب ماكان حديثا يفتري ولكن تصديق الذي بين يديه وتفصيل كل شئ وهدي ورحمة لقوم يؤمنون
[YA]: There is, in their stories, instruction for men endued with understanding. It is not a tale invented, but a confirmation of what went before it,- a detailed exposition of all things, and a guide and a mercy to any such as believe.

[RK]:In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe.

WaAAala allatheena hadooharramna ma qasasnaAAalayka min qablu wama thalamnahumwalakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoonaوعلي الذين هادوا حرمنا ماقصصنا عليك من قبل وماظلمناهم ولكن كانوا انفسهم يظلمون
[YA]: To the Jews We prohibited such things as We have mentioned to thee before: We did them no wrong, but they were used to doing wrong to themselves.

[RK]:For the Jews, we prohibited what we narrated to you previously. It was not us who wronged them; they are the ones who wronged their own souls.

Qala thalika ma kunnanabghi fairtadda AAala atharihimaqasasanقال ذلك ماكنا نبغ فارتدا علي اثارهما قصصا
[YA]: Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come).

[RK]:(Moses) said, "That was the place we were looking for." They traced their steps back.

Inna hatha alqur-ana yaqussuAAala banee isra-eela akthara allathee humfeehi yakhtalifoonaان هذا القران يقص علي بني اسرائيل اكثر الذي هم فيه يختلفون
[YA]: Verily this Qur'an doth explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree.

[RK]:This Quran settles many issues for the Children of Israel; issues that they are still disputing.

Fajaat-hu ihdahumatamshee AAala istihya-in qalat innaabee yadAAooka liyajziyaka ajra ma saqayta lanafalamma jaahu waqassa AAalayhi alqasasaqala la takhaf najawta mina alqawmi alththalimeenaفجاءته احداهما تمشي علي استحياء قالت ان ابي يدعوك ليجزيك اجر ماسقيت لنا فلما جاءه وقص عليه القصص قال لاتخف نجوت من القوم الظالمين
[YA]: Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people."

[RK]:Soon, one of the two women approached him, shyly, and said, "My father invites you to pay you for watering for us." When he met him, and told him his story, he said, "Have no fear. You have been saved from the oppressive people."

Walaqad arsalna rusulan min qablikaminhum man qasasna AAalayka waminhum man lamnaqsus AAalayka wama kana lirasoolinan ya/tiya bi-ayatin illa bi-ithni Allahifa-itha jaa amru Allahi qudiya bialhaqqiwakhasira hunalika almubtiloonaولقد ارسلنا رسلا من قبلك منهم من قصصنا عليك ومنهم من لم نقصص عليك وماكان لرسول ان ياتي باية الاباذن الله فاذا جاء امر الله قضي بالحق وخسر هنالك المبطلون
[YA]: We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods.

[RK]:We have sent messengers before you - some of them we mentioned to you, and some we did not mention to you. No messenger can produce any miracle without GOD's authorization. Once GOD's judgment is issued, the truth dominates, and the falsifiers are exposed and humiliated.
