[YA]: Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. [RK]:You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help.

[YA]: O ye who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided for you, and be grateful to Allah, if it is Him ye worship. [RK]:O you who believe, eat from the good things we provided for you, and be thankful to GOD, if you do worship Him alone.
4 | [4:131] Line:624 |
| ||
[YA]: To Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth. Verily we have directed the People of the Book before you, and you (o Muslims) to fear Allah. But if ye deny Him, lo! unto Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth, and Allah is free of all wants, worthy of all praise. [RK]:To GOD belongs everything in the heavens and the earth, and we have enjoined on those who received the scripture before you, and enjoined on you, that you shall reverence GOD. If you disbelieve, then to GOD belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. GOD is in no need, Praiseworthy.

[YA]: "Nay,- On Him would ye call, and if it be His will, He would remove (the distress) which occasioned your call upon Him, and ye would forget (the false gods) which ye join with Him!" [RK]:The fact is: only Him you implore, and He answers your prayer, if He so wills, and you forget your idols.
6 | [6:130] Line:919 |
| ||
[YA]: "O ye assembly of Jinns and men! came there not unto you messengers from amongst you, setting forth unto you My signs, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. So against themselves will they bear witness that they rejected Faith. [RK]:O you jinns and humans, did you not receive messengers from among you, who narrated to you My revelations, and warned you about the meeting of this day? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." They were totally preoccupied with the worldly life, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
7 | [6:151] Line:940 |

[YA]: Say: "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from": Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom. [RK]:Say, "Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you: You shall not set up idols besides Him. You shall honor your parents. You shall not kill your children from fear of poverty - we provide for you and for them. You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill - GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand."
8 | [7:35] Line:989 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you messengers from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve. [RK]:O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
9 | [7:146] Line:1100 |
| ||
[YA]: Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right - them will I turn away from My signs: Even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them. [RK]:I will divert from My revelations those who are arrogant on earth, without justification. Consequently, when they see every kind of proof they will not believe. And when they see the path of guidance they will not adopt it as their path, but when they see the path of straying they will adopt it as their path. This is the consequence of their rejecting our proofs, and being totally heedless thereof.
10 | [9:114] Line:1349 |

[YA]: And Abraham prayed for his father's forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing. [RK]:The only reason Abraham asked forgiveness for his father was that he had promised him to do so. But as soon as he realized that he was an enemy of GOD, he disowned him. Abraham was extremely kind, clement.
11 | [12:40] Line:1636 |
| ||
[YA]: "If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not... [RK]:"You do not worship beside Him except innovations that you have made up, you and your parents. GOD has never authorized such idols. All ruling belongs to GOD, and He has ruled that you shall not worship except Him. This is the perfect religion, but most people do not know.
12 | [16:114] Line:2015 |
| ||
[YA]: So eat of the sustenance which Allah has provided for you, lawful and good; and be grateful for the favours of Allah, if it is He Whom ye serve. [RK]:Therefore, you shall eat from GOD's provisions everything that is lawful and good, and be appreciative of GOD's blessings, if you do worship Him alone.
13 | [17:23] Line:2052 |
| ||
[YA]: Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour. [RK]:Your Lord has decreed that you shall not worship except Him, and your parents shall be honored. As long as one or both of them live, you shall never say to them, "Uff" (the slightest gesture of annoyance), nor shall you shout at them; you shall treat them amicably.
14 | [17:31] Line:2060 |
| ||
[YA]: Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin. [RK]:You shall not kill your children due to fear of poverty. We provide for them, as well as for you. Killing them is a gross offense.
15 | [17:67] Line:2096 |
| ||
[YA]: When distress seizes you at sea, those that ye call upon - besides Himself - leave you in the lurch! but when He brings you back safe to land, ye turn away (from Him). Most ungrateful is man! [RK]:If you are afflicted in the middle of the sea, you forget your idols and sincerely implore Him alone. But as soon as He saves you to the shore, you revert. Indeed, the human being is unappreciative.
16 | [17:110] Line:2139 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between." [RK]:Say, "Call Him GOD, or call Him the Most Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names." You shall not utter your Contact Prayers (Salat) too loudly, nor secretly; use a moderate tone.
17 | [18:56] Line:2196 |
| ||
[YA]: We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned! [RK]:We only send the messengers as simply deliverers of good news, as well as warners. Those who disbelieve argue with falsehood to defeat the truth, and they take My proofs and warnings in vain.
18 | [18:106] Line:2246 |
| ||
[YA]: That is their reward, Hell, because they rejected Faith, and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest. [RK]:Their just requital is Hell, in return for their disbelief, and for mocking My revelations and My messengers.
19 | [21:37] Line:2520 |
| ||
[YA]: Man is a creature of haste: soon (enough) will I show you My Signs; then ye will not ask Me to hasten them! [RK]:The human being is impatient by nature. I will inevitably show you My signs; do not be in such a hurry.
20 | [23:66] Line:2739 |
| ||
[YA]: "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- [RK]:My proofs have been presented to you, but you turned back on your heels.
21 | [23:105] Line:2778 |
| ||
[YA]: "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" [RK]:Were not My revelations recited to you, and you kept on rejecting them?
22 | [29:60] Line:3400 |
| ||
[YA]: How many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is Allah who feeds (both) them and you: for He hears and knows (all things). [RK]:Many a creature that does not carry its provision, GOD provides for it, as well as for you. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.
23 | [34:24] Line:3630 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "Who gives you sustenance, from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "It is Allah; and certain it is that either we or ye are on right guidance or in manifest error!" [RK]:Say, "Who provides for you, from the heavens and the earth?" Say, "GOD," and "Either we or you are guided, or have gone far astray."
24 | [34:40] Line:3646 |
| ||
[YA]: One Day He will gather them all together, and say to the angels, "Was it you that these men used to worship?" [RK]:On the day when He summons them all, He will say to the angels, "Did these people worship you?"
25 | [39:59] Line:4117 |
| ||
[YA]: "(The reply will be:) 'Nay, but there came to thee my Signs, and thou didst reject them: thou wast Haughty, and became one of those who reject faith!'" [RK]:Yes indeed (you did get enough chances). My proofs came to you, but you rejected them, turned arrogant, and became a disbeliever.
26 | [41:37] Line:4255 |
| ||
[YA]: Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and the moon, but prostrate to Allah, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve. [RK]:Among His proofs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate before the sun, nor the moon; you shall fall prostrate before the GOD who created them, if you truly worship Him alone.
27 | [45:31] Line:4504 |
| ||
[YA]: But as to those who rejected Allah, (to them will be said): "Were not Our Signs rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant, and were a people given to sin! [RK]:As for those who disbelieve: "Were not My revelations recited to you, but you turned arrogant and were wicked people?"
28 | [60:1] Line:5151 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path. [RK]:O you who believe, you shall not befriend My enemies and your enemies, extending love and friendship to them, even though they have disbelieved in the truth that has come to you. They persecute the messenger, and you, just because you believe in GOD, your Lord. If you mobilize to struggle in My cause, seeking My blessings, how can you secretly love them? I am fully aware of everything you conceal, and everything you declare. Those among you who do this have indeed strayed off the right path.
