[YA]: Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers! [RK]:We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, since they set up besides GOD powerless idols. Their destiny is Hell; what a miserable abode for the transgressors!
2 | [4:90] Line:583 |
| ||
[YA]: Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them). [RK]:Exempted are those who join people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, and those who come to you wishing not to fight you, nor fight their relatives. Had GOD willed, He could have permitted them to fight against you. Therefore, if they leave you alone, refrain from fighting you, and offer you peace, then GOD gives you no excuse to fight them.
3 | [4:91] Line:584 |
| ||
[YA]: Others you will find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: Every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto: if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them: In their case We have provided you with a clear argument against them. [RK]:You will find others who wish to make peace with you, and also with their people. However, as soon as war erupts, they fight against you. Unless these people leave you alone, offer you peace, and stop fighting you, you may fight them when you encounter them. Against these, we give you a clear authorization.
4 | [4:144] Line:637 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! Take not for friends unbelievers rather than believers: Do ye wish to offer Allah an open proof against yourselves? [RK]:O you who believe, you shall not ally yourselves with the disbelievers, instead of the believers. Do you wish to provide GOD with a clear proof against you?
5 | [4:153] Line:646 |
| ||
[YA]: The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority. [RK]:The people of the scripture challenge you to bring down to them a book from the sky! They have asked Moses for more than that, saying, "Show us GOD, physically." Consequently, the lightning struck them, as a consequence of their audacity. Additionally, they worshipped the calf, after all the miracles they had seen. Yet, we pardoned all this. We supported Moses with profound miracles.
6 | [6:81] Line:870 |

[YA]: "How should I fear (the beings) ye associate with Allah, when ye fear not to give partners to Allah without any warrant having been given to you? Which of (us) two parties hath more right to security? (tell me) if ye know. [RK]:"Why should I fear your idols? It is you who should be afraid, since you worship instead of GOD idols that are utterly powerless to help you. Which side is more deserving of security, if you know?"
7 | [7:33] Line:987 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge. [RK]:Say, "My Lord prohibits only evil deeds, be they obvious or hidden, and sins, and unjustifiable aggression, and to set up beside GOD powerless idols, and to say about GOD what you do not know."
8 | [7:71] Line:1025 |
| ||
[YA]: He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting." [RK]:He said, "You have incurred condemnation and wrath from your Lord. Do you argue with me in defense of innovations you have fabricated - you and your parents - which were never authorized by GOD? Therefore, wait and I will wait along with you."
9 | [10:68] Line:1432 |
| ||
[YA]: They say: "Allah hath begotten a son!" - Glory be to Him! He is self-sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! say ye about Allah what ye know not? [RK]:They said, "GOD has begotten a son!" Be He glorified. He is the Most Rich. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. You have no proof to support such a blasphemy. Are you saying about GOD what you do not know?
10 | [11:96] Line:1569 |
| ||
[YA]: And we sent Moses, with Our Clear (Signs) and an authority manifest, [RK]:We sent Moses with our signs and a profound authority.
11 | [12:40] Line:1636 |
| ||
[YA]: "If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not... [RK]:"You do not worship beside Him except innovations that you have made up, you and your parents. GOD has never authorized such idols. All ruling belongs to GOD, and He has ruled that you shall not worship except Him. This is the perfect religion, but most people do not know.
12 | [14:10] Line:1760 |
| ||
[YA]: Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority." [RK]:Their messengers said, "Do you have doubts about GOD; the Initiator of the heavens and the earth? He invites you only to forgive your sins, and to give you another chance to redeem yourselves." They said, "You are no more than humans like us, who want to repel us from the way our parents used to worship. Show us some profound authority."
13 | [14:11] Line:1761 |
| ||
[YA]: Their messengers said to them: "True, we are human like yourselves, but Allah doth grant His grace to such of his servants as He pleases. It is not for us to bring you an authority except as Allah permits. And on Allah let all men of faith put their trust. [RK]:Their messengers said to them, "We are no more than humans like you, but GOD blesses whomever He chooses from among His servants. We could not possibly show you any kind of authorization, except in accordance with GOD's will. In GOD the believers shall trust.
14 | [14:22] Line:1772 |
| ||
[YA]: And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty." [RK]:And the devil will say, after the judgment had been issued, "GOD has promised you the truthful promise, and I promised you, but I broke my promise. I had no power over you; I simply invited you, and you accepted my invitation. Therefore, do not blame me, and blame only yourselves. My complaining cannot help you, nor can your complaining help me. I have disbelieved in your idolizing me. The transgressors have incurred a painful retribution."
15 | [15:42] Line:1844 |
| ||
[YA]: "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." [RK]:"You have no power over My servants. You only have power over the strayers who follow you.
16 | [16:99] Line:2000 |
| ||
[YA]: No authority has he over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. [RK]:He has no power over those who believe and trust in their Lord.
17 | [16:100] Line:2001 |
| ||
[YA]: His authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah. [RK]:His power is limited to those who choose him as their master, those who choose him as their god.
18 | [17:33] Line:2062 |
| ||
[YA]: Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). [RK]:You shall not kill any person - for GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. If one is killed unjustly, then we give his heir authority to enforce justice. Thus, he shall not exceed the limits in avenging the murder; he will be helped.
19 | [17:65] Line:2094 |
| ||
[YA]: "As for My servants, no authority shalt thou have over them:" Enough is thy Lord for a Disposer of affairs. [RK]:"As for My servants, you have no power over them." Your Lord suffices as an advocate.
20 | [17:80] Line:2109 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "O my Lord! Let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honour, and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honour; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)." [RK]:And say, "My Lord, admit me an honorable admittance, and let me depart an honorable departure, and grant me from You a powerful support."
21 | [18:15] Line:2155 |
| ||
[YA]: "These our people have taken for worship gods other than Him: why do they not bring forward an authority clear (and convincing) for what they do? Who doth more wrong than such as invent a falsehood against Allah? [RK]:"Here are our people setting up gods beside Him. If only they could provide any proof to support their stand! Who is more evil than the one who fabricates lies and attributes them to GOD?
22 | [22:71] Line:2666 |
| ||
[YA]: Yet they worship, besides Allah, things for which no authority has been sent down to them, and of which they have (really) no knowledge: for those that do wrong there is no helper. [RK]:Yet, they idolize beside GOD idols wherein He placed no power, and they know nothing about them. The transgressors have no helper.
23 | [23:45] Line:2718 |
| ||
[YA]: Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, [RK]:Then we sent Moses and his brother Aaron with our revelations and a profound proof.
24 | [27:21] Line:3180 |
| ||
[YA]: "I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty, or execute him, unless he bring me a clear reason (for absence)." [RK]:"I will punish him severely or sacrifice him, unless he gives me a good excuse."
25 | [28:35] Line:3287 |
| ||
[YA]: He said: "We will certainly strengthen thy arm through thy brother, and invest you both with authority, so they shall not be able to touch you: with Our Sign shall ye triumph,- you two as well as those who follow you." [RK]:He said, "We will strengthen you with your brother, and we will provide you both with manifest authority. Thus, they will not be able to touch either one of you. With our miracles, the two of you, together with those who follow you, will be the victors."
26 | [30:35] Line:3444 |
| ||
[YA]: Or have We sent down authority to them, which points out to them the things to which they pay part-worship? [RK]:Have we given them authorization that justifies their idolatry?
27 | [34:21] Line:3627 |
| ||
[YA]: But he had no authority over them,- except that We might test the man who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it: and thy Lord doth watch over all things. [RK]:He never had any power over them. But we thus distinguish those who believe in the Hereafter from those who are doubtful about it. Your Lord is in full control of all things.
28 | [37:30] Line:3818 |
| ||
[YA]: "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! [RK]:"We never had any power over you; it is you who were wicked.
29 | [37:156] Line:3944 |
| ||
[YA]: Or have ye an authority manifest? [RK]:Do you have any proof?
30 | [40:23] Line:4156 |
| ||
[YA]: Of old We sent Moses, with Our Signs and an authority manifest, [RK]:We sent Moses with our signs and a profound authority.
31 | [40:35] Line:4168 |
| ||
[YA]: "(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors." [RK]:They argue against GOD's revelations, without any basis. This is a trait that is most abhorred by GOD and by those who believe. GOD thus seals the hearts of every arrogant tyrant.
32 | [40:56] Line:4189 |
| ||
[YA]: Those who dispute about the signs of Allah without any authority bestowed on them,- there is nothing in their breasts but (the quest of) greatness, which they shall never attain to: seek refuge, then, in Allah: It is He Who hears and sees (all things). [RK]:Surely, those who argue against GOD's revelations without proof are exposing the arrogance that is hidden inside their chests, and they are not even aware of it. Therefore, seek refuge in GOD; He is the Hearer, the Seer.
33 | [44:19] Line:4433 |
| ||
[YA]: "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. [RK]:And, "Do not transgress against GOD. I bring to you powerful proofs.
34 | [51:38] Line:4713 |
| ||
[YA]: And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. [RK]:In Moses (there is a lesson). We sent him to Pharaoh with manifest proofs.
35 | [52:38] Line:4773 |
| ||
[YA]: Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. [RK]:Do they climb a ladder that enables them to listen? Let their listeners show their proof.
36 | [53:23] Line:4807 |
| ||
[YA]: These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! [RK]:These are but names that you made up, you and your forefathers. GOD never authorized such a blasphemy. They follow conjecture, and personal desire, when the true guidance has come to them herein from their Lord.
37 | [55:33] Line:4934 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! [RK]:O you jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the outer limits of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and penetrate. You cannot penetrate without authorization.
38 | [59:6] Line:5132 |
| ||
[YA]: What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (and taken away) from them - for this ye made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry: but Allah gives power to His messengers over any He pleases: and Allah has power over all things. [RK]:Whatever GOD restored for His messenger was not the result of your war efforts, whether you fought on horses or on foot. GOD is the One who sends His messengers against whomever He wills. GOD is Omnipotent.
39 | [69:29] Line:5352 |
| ||
[YA]: "My power has perished from me!"... [RK]:"All my power is gone."
