Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookutiba AAalaykumu alqisasu fee alqatla alhurrubialhurri waalAAabdu bialAAabdi waalonthabialontha faman AAufiya lahu min akheehi shay-on faittibaAAunbialmaAAroofi waadaon ilayhi bi-ihsaninthalika takhfeefun min rabbikum warahmatun famaniiAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabunaleemun

ياايها الذين امنوا كتب عليكم القصاص في القتلي الحر بالحر والعبد بالعبد والانثي بالانثي فمن عفي له من اخيه شئ فاتباع بالمعروف واداء اليه باحسان ذلك تخفيف من ربكم ورحمة فمن اعتدي بعد ذلك فله عذاب اليم

[YA]: O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits shall be in grave penalty.

[RK]:O you who believe, equivalence is the law decreed for you when dealing with murder - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. If one is pardoned by the victim's kin, an appreciative response is in order, and an equitable compensation shall be paid. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. Anyone who transgresses beyond this incurs a painful retribution.

فلما وضعتها قالت رب اني وضعتها انثي والله اعلم بما وضعت وليس الذكر كالانثي واني سميتها مريم واني اعيذها بك وذريتها من الشيطان الرجيم

[YA]: When she was delivered, she said: "O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!"- and Allah knew best what she brought forth- "And no wise is the male Like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Thy protection from the Evil One, the Rejected."

[RK]:When she gave birth to her, she said, "My Lord, I have given birth to a girl" - GOD was fully aware of what she bore - "The male is not the same as the female. I have named her Mary, and I invoke Your protection for her and her descendants from the rejected devil."

فاستجاب لهم ربهم اني لااضيع عمل عامل منكم من ذكر او انثي بعضكم من بعض فالذين هاجروا واخرجوا من ديارهم واوذوا في سبيلي وقاتلوا وقتلوا لاكفرن عنهم سيئاتهم ولادخلنهم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار ثوابا من عند الله والله عنده حسن الثواب

[YA]: And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards."

[RK]:Their Lord responded to them: "I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female - you are equal to one another. Thus, those who immigrate, and get evicted from their homes, and are persecuted because of Me, and fight and get killed, I will surely remit their sins and admit them into gardens with flowing streams." Such is the reward from GOD. GOD possesses the ultimate reward.

Yooseekumu Allahu fee awladikumlilththakari mithlu haththialonthayayni fa-in kunna nisaan fawqa ithnatayni falahunnathulutha ma taraka wa-in kanat wahidatanfalaha alnnisfu wali-abawayhi likulli wahidinminhuma alssudusu mimma taraka in kanalahu waladun fa-in lam yakun lahu waladun wawarithahu abawahufali-ommihi alththuluthu fa-in kana lahu ikhwatunfali-ommihi alssudusu min baAAdi wasiyyatin yooseebiha aw daynin abaokum waabnaokum latadroona ayyuhum aqrabu lakum nafAAan fareedatan mina Allahiinna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeeman

يوصيكم الله في اولادكم للذكر مثل حظ الانثيين فان كن نساء فوق اثنتين فلهن ثلثا ماترك وان كانت واحدة فلها النصف ولابويه لكل واحد منهما السدس مما ترك ان كان له ولد فان لم يكن له ولد وورثه ابواه فلامه الثلث فان كان له اخوة فلامه السدس من بعد وصية يوصي بها او دين اباؤكم وابناؤكم لاتدرون ايهم اقرب لكم نفعا فريضة من الله ان الله كان عليما حكيما

[YA]: Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children's (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased Left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases ('s) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-knowing, Al-wise.

[RK]:GOD decrees a will for the benefit of your children; the male gets twice the share of the female. If the inheritors are only women, more than two, they get two-thirds of what is bequeathed. If only one daughter is left, she gets one-half. The parents of the deceased get one-sixth of the inheritance each, if the deceased has left any children. If he left no children, and his parents are the only inheritors, the mother gets one-third. If he has siblings, then the mother gets one-sixth. All this, after fulfilling any will the deceased has left, and after paying off all debts. When it comes to your parents and your children, you do not know which of them is really the best to you and the most beneficial. This is GOD's law. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

ان يدعون من دونه الا اناثا وان يدعون الا شيطانا مريدا

[YA]: (The Pagans), leaving Him, call but upon female deities: They call but upon satan the persistent rebel!

[RK]:They even worship female gods besides Him; as a matter of fact, they only worship a rebellious devil.

Waman yaAAmal mina alssalihatimin thakarin aw ontha wahuwa mu/minun faola-ikayadkhuloona aljannata wala yuthlamoonanaqeeran

ومن يعمل من الصالحات من ذكر او انثي وهو مؤمن فاولئك يدخلون الجنة ولايظلمون نقيرا

[YA]: If any do deeds of righteousness,- be they male or female - and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them.

[RK]:As for those who lead a righteous life, male or female, while believing, they enter Paradise; without the slightest injustice.

Yastaftoonaka quli Allahu yufteekumfee alkalalati ini imruon halaka laysa lahu waladun walahuokhtun falaha nisfu ma taraka wahuwayarithuha in lam yakun laha waladun fa-in kanataithnatayni falahuma alththuluthani mimmataraka wa-in kanoo ikhwatan rijalan wanisaanfalilththakari mithlu haththialonthayayni yubayyinu Allahu lakum an tadilloo waAllahubikulli shay-in AAaleemun

يستفتونك قل الله يفتيكم في الكلالة ان امرؤ هلك ليس له ولد وله اخت فلها نصف ماترك وهو يرثها ان لم يكن لها ولد فان كانتا اثنتين فلهما الثلثان مما ترك وان كانوا اخوة رجالا ونساء فلذكر مثل حظ الانثيين يبين الله لكم ان تضلوا والله بكل شئ عليم

[YA]: They ask thee for a legal decision. Say: Allah directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but no child, she shall have half the inheritance: If (such a deceased was) a woman, who left no child, Her brother takes her inheritance: If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the inheritance (between them): if there are brothers and sisters, (they share), the male having twice the share of the female. Thus doth Allah make clear to you (His law), lest ye err. And Allah hath knowledge of all things.

[RK]:They consult you; say, "GOD advises you concerning the single person. If one dies and leaves no children, and he had a sister, she gets half the inheritance. If she dies first, he inherits from her, if she left no children. If there were two sisters, they get two-thirds of the inheritance. If the siblings are men and women, the male gets twice the share of the female." GOD thus clarifies for you, lest you go astray. GOD is fully aware of all things.

Thamaniyata azwajin mina aldda/niithnayni wamina almaAAzi ithnayni qul alththakarayniharrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhiarhamu alonthayayni nabbi-oonee biAAilmin in kuntum sadiqeena

ثمانية ازواج من الضان اثنين ومن المعز اثنين قل ءالذكرين حرم ام الانثيين اما اشتملت عليه ارحام الانثيين نبئوني بعلم ان كنتم صادقين

[YA]: (Take) eight (head of cattle) in (four) pairs: of sheep a pair, and of goats a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? Tell me with knowledge if ye are truthful:

[RK]:Eight kinds of livestock: regarding the two kinds of sheep, and the two kinds of goats, say, "Is it the two males that He prohibited, or the two females, or the contents of the wombs of the two females? Tell me what you know, if you are truthful."

ومن الابل اثنين ومن البقر اثنين قل ءالذكرين حرم ام الانثيين امااشتملت عليه ارحام الانثيين ام كنتم شهداء اذ وصاكم الله بهذا فمن اظلم ممن افتري علي الله كذبا ليضل الناس بغير علم ان الله لايهدي القوم الظالمين

[YA]: Of camels a pair, and oxen a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? - Were ye present when Allah ordered you such a thing? But who doth more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead astray men without knowledge? For Allah guideth not people who do wrong.

[RK]:Regarding the two kinds of camels, and the two kinds of cattle, say, "Is it the two males that He prohibited, or the two females, or the contents of the wombs of the two females? Were you witnesses when GOD decreed such prohibitions for you? Who is more evil than those who invent such lies and attribute them to GOD? They thus mislead the people without knowledge. GOD does not guide such evil people."

Allahu yaAAlamu ma tahmilukullu ontha wama tagheedu al-arhamuwama tazdadu wakullu shay-in AAindahu bimiqdarin

الله يعلم ماتحمل كل انثي وماتغيض الارحام وماتزداد وكل شئ عنده بمقدار

[YA]: Allah doth know what every female (womb) doth bear, by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or do exceed. Every single thing is before His sight, in (due) proportion.

[RK]:GOD knows what every female bears, and what every womb releases, or gains. Everything He does is perfectly measured.

Wa-itha bushshira ahaduhum bialonthathalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun

واذا بشر احدهم بالانثي ظل وجهه مسودا وهو كظيم

[YA]: When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!

[RK]:When one of them gets a baby girl, his face becomes darkened with overwhelming grief.

Man AAamila salihan min thakarinaw ontha wahuwa mu/minun falanuhyiyannahu hayatantayyibatan walanajziyannahum ajrahum bi-ahsani makanoo yaAAmaloona

من عمل صالحا من ذكر او انثي وهو مؤمن فلنحيينه حياة طيبة ولنجزينهم اجرهم باحسن ما كانوا يعملون

[YA]: Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.

[RK]:Anyone who works righteousness, male or female, while believing, we will surely grant them a happy life in this world, and we will surely pay them their full recompense (on the Day of Judgment) for their righteous works.

افاصفاكم ربكم بالبنين واتخذ من الملائكة اناثا انكم لتقولون قولا عظيما

[YA]: Has then your Lord (O Pagans!) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself daughters among the angels? Truly ye utter a most dreadful saying!

[RK]:Has your Lord given you boys, while giving Himself the angels as daughters?! How could you utter such a blasphemy?

WaAllahu khalaqakum min turabinthumma min nutfatin thumma jaAAalakum azwajan wamatahmilu min ontha wala tadaAAu illabiAAilmihi wama yuAAammaru min muAAammarin walayunqasu min AAumurihi illa fee kitabin inna thalikaAAala Allahi yaseerun

والله خلقكم من تراب ثم من نطفة ثم جعلكم ازواجا وماتحمل من انثي ولاتضع الا بعلمه ومايعمر من معمر ولاينقص من عمره الا في كتاب ان ذلك علي الله يسير

[YA]: And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then He made you in pairs. And no female conceives, or lays down (her load), but with His knowledge. Nor is a man long-lived granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a Decree (ordained). All this is easy to Allah.

[RK]:GOD created you from dust, then from a tiny drop, then He causes you to reproduce through your spouses. No female becomes pregnant, nor gives birth, without His knowledge. No one survives for a long life, and no one's life is snapped short, except in accordance with a pre-existing record. This is easy for GOD.

ام خلقنا الملائكة اناثا وهم شاهدون

[YA]: Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)?

[RK]:Did we create the angels to be females? Did they witness that?

Man AAamila sayyi-atan fala yujzailla mithlaha waman AAamila salihanmin thakarin aw ontha wahuwa mu/minun faola-ikayadkhuloona aljannata yurzaqoona feeha bighayri hisabin

من عمل سيئة فلايجزي الا مثلها ومن عمل صالحا من ذكر او انثي وهو مؤمن فاولئك يدخلون الجنة يرزقون فيها بغير حساب

[YA]: "He that works evil will not be requited but by the like thereof: and he that works a righteous deed - whether man or woman - and is a Believer- such will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein will they have abundance without measure.

[RK]:Whoever commits a sin is requited for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter Paradise wherein they receive provisions without any limits.

Ilayhi yuraddu AAilmu alssaAAatiwama takhruju min thamaratin min akmamihawama tahmilu min ontha wala tadaAAuilla biAAilmihi wayawma yunadeehim ayna shuraka-eeqaloo athannaka ma minna minshaheedin

اليه يرد علم الساعة وماتخرج من ثمرات من اكمامها وماتحمل من انثي ولاتضع الا بعلمه ويوم يناديهم اين شركائي قالوا اذناك مامنا من شهيد

[YA]: To Him is referred the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment: He knows all): No date-fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb) nor bring forth the Day that (Allah) will propound to them the (question), "Where are the partners (ye attributed to Me?" They will say, "We do assure thee not one of us can bear witness!"

[RK]:With Him is the knowledge about the Hour (end of the world). No fruits emerge from their sheaths, nor does any female conceive or give birth, without His knowledge. The day will come when He asks them: "Where are those idols that you set up beside Me?" They will say, "We proclaim to You that none of us bears witness to that."

Lillahi mulku alssamawatiwaal-ardi yakhluqu ma yashao yahabuliman yashao inathan wayahabu liman yashao alththukoora

لله ملك السموات والارض يخلق مايشاء يهب لمن يشاء اناثا ويهب لمن يشاء الذكور

[YA]: To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills (and plans). He bestows (children) male or female according to His Will (and Plan),

[RK]:To GOD belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wills, granting daughters to whomever He wills, and granting sons to whomever He wills.

Aw yuzawwijuhum thukrananwa-inathan wayajAAalu man yashao AAaqeeman innahuAAaleemun qadeerun

او يزوجهم ذكرانا واناثا ويجعل من يشاء عقيما انه عليم قدير

[YA]: Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will: for He is full of Knowledge and Power.

[RK]:Or, He may have the males and the females marry each other, then render whomever He wills sterile. He is Omniscient, Omnipotent.

WajaAAaloo almala-ikata allatheenahum AAibadu alrrahmani inathanashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayus-aloona

وجعلوا الملائكة الذين هم عباد الرحمن اناثا اشهدوا خلقهم ستكتب شهادتهم ويسالون

[YA]: And they make into females angels who themselves serve Allah. Did they witness their creation? Their evidence will be recorded, and they will be called to account!

[RK]:They claimed that the angels, who are servants of the Most Gracious, are females! Have they witnessed their creation? Their claims are recorded, and they will be asked.

Ya ayyuha alnnasuinna khalaqnakum min thakarin waonthawajaAAalnakum shuAAooban waqaba-ila litaAAarafooinna akramakum AAinda Allahi atqakum inna AllahaAAaleemun khabeerun

ياايها الناس انا خلقناكم من ذكر وانثي وجعلناكم شعوبا وقبائل لتعارفوا ان اكرمكم عند الله اتقاكم ان الله عليم خبير

[YA]: O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

[RK]:O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant.

[YA]: What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female?

[RK]:Do you have sons, while He has these as daughters?

ان الذين لايؤمنون بالاخرة ليسمون الملائكة تسمية الانثي

[YA]: Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.

[RK]:Those who disbelieve in the Hereafter have given the angels feminine names.

[YA]: That He did create in pairs,- male and female,

[RK]:He is the One who created the two kinds, male and female

فجعل منه الزوجين الذكر والانثي

[YA]: And of him He made two sexes, male and female.

[RK]:He made it into male or female!

[YA]: By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-

[RK]:And Him who created the male and the female.
