[YA]: And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter.
[RK]:And they believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, and with regard to the Hereafter, they are absolutely certain.
[YA]: Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).
[RK]:Those who possess no knowledge say, "If only GOD could speak to us, or some miracle could come to us!" Others before them have uttered similar utterances; their minds are similar. We do manifest the miracles for those who have attained certainty.
[YA]: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
[RK]:And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.
[YA]: Do they then seek after a judgment of (the days of) ignorance? But who, for a people whose faith is assured, can give better judgment than Allah?
[RK]:Is it the law of the days of ignorance that they seek to uphold? Whose law is better than GOD's for those who have attained certainty?
[YA]: So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth, that he might (with understanding) have certitude.
[RK]:We showed Abraham the marvels of the heavens and the earth, and blessed him with certainty:
[YA]: Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
[RK]:GOD is the One who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, then assumed all authority. He committed the sun and the moon, each running (in its orbit) for a predetermined period. He controls all things, and explains the revelations, that you may attain certainty about meeting your Lord.
[YA]: And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain.
[RK]:And worship your Lord, in order to attain certainty.
[YA]: (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure."
[RK]:He said, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. You should be certain about this."
[YA]: Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter.
[RK]:Who observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and they are, with regard to the Hereafter, absolutely certain.
[YA]: But the Hoopoe tarried not far: he (came up and) said: "I have compassed (territory) which thou hast not compassed, and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true.
[RK]:He did not wait for long. (The hoopoe) said, "I have news that you do not have. I brought to you from Sheba, some important information.
[YA]: And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs.
[RK]:At the right time, we will produce for them a creature, made of earthly materials, declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations.
[YA]: So patiently persevere: for verily the promise of Allah is true: nor let those shake thy firmness, who have (themselves) no certainty of faith.
[RK]:Therefore, you shall steadfastly persevere - for GOD's promise is the truth - and do not be intimidated by those who have not attained certainty.
[YA]: Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter.
[RK]:Who observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and as regards the Hereafter, they are absolutely certain.
[YA]: If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe."
[RK]:If only you could see the guilty when they bow down their heads before their Lord: "Our Lord, now we have seen and we have heard. Send us back and we will be righteous. Now we have attained certainty."
[YA]: And We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs.
[RK]:We appointed from among them imams who guided in accordance with our commandments, because they steadfastly persevered and attained certainty about our revelations.
[YA]: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith.
[RK]:Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. If only you could be certain!
[YA]: And in the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are Signs for those of assured Faith.
[RK]:Also in your creation, and the creation of all the animals, there are proofs for people who are certain.
[YA]: These are clear evidences to men and a Guidance and Mercy to those of assured Faith.
[RK]:This provides enlightenments for the people, and guidance, and mercy for those who are certain.
[YA]: On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith,
[RK]:The earth is full of signs for those who are certain.
[YA]: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief.
[RK]:Did they create the heavens and the earth? Indeed, they have no certainty.
[YA]: Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly.
[RK]:This is the absolute truth.
[YA]: But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.
[RK]:It is the absolute truth.
[YA]: And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.
[RK]:We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts, and the disbelievers; they will say, "What did GOD mean by this allegory?" GOD thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He. This is a reminder for the people.
[YA]: "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."
[RK]:"Until certainty came to us now."
[YA]: Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!)
[RK]:If only you could find out for certain.
[YA]: Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight!
[RK]:Then you would see it with the eye of certainty.
