[YA]: Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; [RK]:who believe in the unseen, observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), and from our provisions to them, they give to charity.
2 | [3:44] Line:337 |
| ||
[YA]: This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point). [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You were not there when they drew their raffles to select Mary's guardian. You were not present when they argued with one another.
3 | [3:179] Line:472 |
| ||
[YA]: Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure. [RK]:GOD is not to leave the believers as you are, without distinguishing the bad from the good. Nor does GOD inform you of the future, but GOD bestows such knowledge upon whomever He chooses from among His messengers. Therefore, you shall believe in GOD and His messengers. If you believe and lead a righteous life, you receive a great recompense.
4 | [4:34] Line:527 |
| ||
[YA]: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). [RK]:The men are made responsible for the women, and GOD has endowed them with certain qualities, and made them the bread earners. The righteous women will cheerfully accept this arrangement, since it is GOD's commandment, and honor their husbands during their absence. If you experience rebellion from the women, you shall first talk to them, then (you may use negative incentives like) deserting them in bed, then you may (as a last alternative) beat them. If they obey you, you are not permitted to transgress against them. GOD is Most High, Supreme.
5 | [5:94] Line:763 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you in a little matter of game well within reach of game well within reach of your hands and your lances, that He may test who feareth him unseen: any who transgress thereafter, will have a grievous penalty. [RK]:O you who believe, GOD will test you with some game within reach of your hands and your arrows (during pilgrimage). GOD thus distinguishes those among you who observe Him in their privacy. Those who transgress after this have incurred a painful retribution.
6 | [5:109] Line:778 |
| ||
[YA]: One day will Allah gather the messengers together, and ask: "What was the response ye received (from men to your teaching)?" They will say: "We have no knowledge: it is Thou Who knowest in full all that is hidden." [RK]:The day will come when GOD will summon the messengers and ask them, "How was the response to you?" They will say, "We have no knowledge. You are the Knower of all secrets."
7 | [5:116] Line:785 |
| ||
[YA]: And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. [RK]:GOD will say, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, `Make me and my mother idols beside GOD?' " He will say, "Be You glorified. I could not utter what was not right. Had I said it, You already would have known it. You know my thoughts, and I do not know Your thoughts. You know all the secrets.
8 | [6:50] Line:839 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not? [RK]:Say, "I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of GOD. Nor do I know the future. Nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I simply follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind the same as the seer? Do you not reflect?"
9 | [6:59] Line:848 |
| ||
[YA]: With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read). [RK]:With Him are the keys to all secrets; none knows them except He. He knows everything on land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls without His knowledge. Nor is there a grain in the depths of the soil. Nor is there anything wet or dry, that is not recorded in a profound record.
10 | [6:73] Line:862 |
| ||
[YA]: It is He who created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): the day He saith, "Be," behold! it is. His word is the truth. His will be the dominion the day the trumpet will be blown. He knoweth the unseen as well as that which is open. For He is the Wise, well acquainted (with all things). [RK]:He is the One who created the heavens and the earth, truthfully. Whenever He says, "Be," it is. His word is the absolute truth. All sovereignty belongs to Him the day the horn is blown. Knower of all secrets and declarations, He is the Most Wise, the Cognizant.
11 | [7:7] Line:961 |
| ||
[YA]: And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). [RK]:We will inform them authoritatively, for we were never absent.
12 | [7:188] Line:1142 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I have no power over any good or harm to myself except as Allah willeth. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I should have multiplied all good, and no evil should have touched me: I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings to those who have faith." [RK]:Say, "I have no power to benefit myself, or harm myself. Only what GOD wills happens to me. If I knew the future, I would have increased my wealth, and no harm would have afflicted me. I am no more than a warner, and a bearer of good news for those who believe."
13 | [9:78] Line:1313 |
| ||
[YA]: Know they not that Allah doth know their secret (thoughts) and their secret counsels, and that Allah knoweth well all things unseen? [RK]:Do they not realize that GOD knows their secrets, and their conspiracies, and that GOD is the Knower of all secrets?
14 | [9:94] Line:1329 |
| ||
[YA]: They will present their excuses to you when ye return to them. Say thou: "Present no excuses: we shall not believe you: Allah hath already informed us of the true state of matters concerning you: It is your actions that Allah and His Messenger will observe: in the end will ye be brought back to Him Who knoweth what is hidden and what is open: then will He show you the truth of all that ye did." [RK]:They apologize to you when you return to them (from battle). Say, "Do not apologize; we no longer trust you. GOD has informed us about you." GOD will see your works, and so will the messenger, then you will be returned to the Knower of all secrets and declarations, then He will inform you of everything you had done.
15 | [9:105] Line:1340 |
| ||
[YA]: And say: "Work (righteousness): Soon will Allah observe your work, and His Messenger, and the Believers: Soon will ye be brought back to the knower of what is hidden and what is open: then will He show you the truth of all that ye did." [RK]:Say, "Work righteousness; GOD will see your work, and so will His messenger and the believers. Ultimately, you will be returned to the Knower of all secrets and declarations, then He will inform you of everything you had done."
16 | [10:20] Line:1384 |
| ||
[YA]: They say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The Unseen is only for Allah (to know), then wait ye: I too will wait with you." [RK]:They say, "How come no miracle came down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The future belongs to GOD; so wait, and I am waiting along with you."
17 | [11:31] Line:1504 |
| ||
[YA]: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer." [RK]:"I do not claim that I possess the treasures of GOD, nor do I know the future, nor do I claim to be an angel. Nor do I say to those despised by your eyes that GOD will not bestow any blessings upon them. GOD knows best what is in their innermost thoughts. (If I did this,) I would be a transgressor."
18 | [11:49] Line:1522 |
| ||
[YA]: Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous. [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You had no knowledge about them - neither you, nor your people - before this. Therefore, be patient. The ultimate victory belongs to the righteous.
19 | [12:10] Line:1606 |
| ||
[YA]: Said one of them: "Slay not Joseph, but if ye must do something, throw him down to the bottom of the well: he will be picked up by some caravan of travellers." [RK]:One of them said, "Do not kill Joseph; let us throw him into the abyss of the well. Perhaps some caravan can pick him up, if this is what you decide to do."
20 | [12:15] Line:1611 |
| ||
[YA]: So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart (this Message): 'Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not' [RK]:When they went away with him, and unanimously decided to throw him into the abyss of the well, we inspired him: "Some day, you will tell them about all this, while they have no idea."
21 | [12:52] Line:1648 |
| ||
[YA]: "This (say I), in order that He may know that I have never been false to him in his absence, and that Allah will never guide the snare of the false ones. [RK]:"I hope that he will realize that I never betrayed him in his absence, for GOD does not bless the schemes of the betrayers.
22 | [12:81] Line:1677 |
| ||
[YA]: "Turn ye back to your father, and say, 'O our father! behold! thy son committed theft! we bear witness only to what we know, and we could not well guard against the unseen! [RK]:"Go back to your father and tell him... `Our father, your son has committed a theft. We know for sure, because this is what we have witnessed. This was an unexpected occurrence.
23 | [12:102] Line:1698 |
| ||
[YA]: Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou (present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots. [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You were not present when they made their unanimous decision (to throw Joseph in the well), as they conspired together.
24 | [13:9] Line:1716 |
| ||
[YA]: He knoweth the unseen and that which is open: He is the Great, the Most High. [RK]:The Knower of all secrets and declarations; the Supreme, the Most High.
25 | [18:22] Line:2162 |
| ||
[YA]: (Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (the affair of) the Sleepers. [RK]:Some would say, "They were three; their dog being the fourth," while others would say, "Five; the sixth being their dog," as they guessed. Others said, "Seven," and the eighth was their dog. Say, "My Lord is the best knower of their number." Only a few knew the correct number. Therefore, do not argue with them; just go along with them. You need not consult anyone about this.
26 | [19:61] Line:2311 |
| ||
[YA]: Gardens of Eternity, those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass. [RK]:The gardens of Eden await them, as promised by the Most Gracious for those who worship Him, even in privacy. Certainly, His promise must come to pass.
27 | [19:78] Line:2328 |
| ||
[YA]: Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with (Allah) Most Gracious? [RK]:Has he seen the future? Has he taken such a pledge from the Most Gracious?
28 | [21:49] Line:2532 |
| ||
[YA]: Those who fear their Lord in their most secret thoughts, and who hold the Hour (of Judgment) in awe. [RK]:The ones who reverence their Lord, even when alone in their privacy, and they worry about the Hour.
29 | [23:92] Line:2765 |
| ||
[YA]: He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him! [RK]:The Knower of all secrets and declarations; be He exalted, far above having a partner.
30 | [27:20] Line:3179 |
| ||
[YA]: And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said: "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? [RK]:He inspected the birds, and noted: "Why do I not see the hoopoe? Why is he missing?
31 | [27:65] Line:3224 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment). [RK]:Say, "No one in the heavens and the earth knows the future except GOD. They do not even perceive how or when they will be resurrected."
32 | [27:75] Line:3234 |
| ||
[YA]: Nor is there aught of the unseen, in heaven or earth, but is (recorded) in a clear record. [RK]:There is nothing in the heavens and the earth that is hidden (from God); everything is in a profound record.
33 | [32:6] Line:3509 |
| ||
[YA]: Such is He, the Knower of all things, hidden and open, the Exalted (in power), the Merciful;- [RK]:Knower of all secrets and declarations; the Almighty, Most Merciful.
34 | [34:3] Line:3609 |
| ||
[YA]: The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous: [RK]:Those who disbelieve have said, "The Hour will never come to pass!" Say, "Absolutely - by my Lord - it will most certainly come to you. He is the Knower of the future. Not even the equivalent of an atom's weight is hidden from Him, be it in the heavens or the earth. Not even smaller than that, or larger (is hidden). All are in a profound record."
35 | [34:14] Line:3620 |
| ||
[YA]: Then, when We decreed (Solomon's) death, nothing showed them his death except a little worm of the earth, which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his staff: so when he fell down, the Jinns saw plainly that if they had known the unseen, they would not have tarried in the humiliating Penalty (of their Task). [RK]:When the appointed time for his death came, they had no clue that he had died. Not until one of the animals tried to eat his staff, and he fell down, did the jinns realized that he was dead. They thus realized that if they really knew the unseen, they would have stopped working so hard as soon as he died.
36 | [34:48] Line:3654 |
| ||

| ||
[YA]: Seeing that they did reject Faith (entirely) before, and that they (continually) cast (slanders) on the unseen from a position far off? [RK]:They have rejected it in the past; they have decided instead to uphold conjecture and guesswork.
38 | [35:18] Line:3678 |
| ||
[YA]: Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another's burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. Not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). Even though he be nearly related. Thou canst but admonish such as fear their Lord unseen and establish regular Prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah. [RK]:No soul can carry the sins of another soul. If a soul that is loaded with sins implores another to bear part of its load, no other soul can carry any part of it, even if they were related. The only people to heed your warnings are those who reverence their Lord, even when alone in their privacy, and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat). Whoever purifies his soul, does so for his own good. To GOD is the final destiny.
39 | [36:11] Line:3716 |

42 | [52:41] Line:4776 |
| ||
[YA]: Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? [RK]:Do they know the future, and have it recorded?
43 | [53:35] Line:4819 |
| ||
[YA]: What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? [RK]:Did he possess knowledge of the future? Could he see it?
44 | [57:25] Line:5100 |
| ||
[YA]: We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will). [RK]:We sent our messengers supported by clear proofs, and we sent down to them the scripture and the law, that the people may uphold justice. And we sent down the iron, wherein there is strength, and many benefits for the people. All this in order for GOD to distinguish those who would support Him and His messengers, on faith. GOD is Powerful, Almighty.

46 | [62:8] Line:5185 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "The Death from which ye flee will truly overtake you: then will ye be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that ye did!" [RK]:Say, "The death that you are trying to evade will catch up with you sooner or later. Then you will be returned to the Knower of all secrets and declarations, then He will inform you of everything you had done."
47 | [64:18] Line:5217 |
| ||
[YA]: Knower of what is open, Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom. [RK]:The Knower of all secrets and declarations; the Almighty, Most Wise.
48 | [67:12] Line:5253 |
| ||
[YA]: As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. [RK]:As for those who reverence their Lord, when alone in their privacy, they have attained forgiveness and a great recompense.
49 | [68:47] Line:5318 |
| ||
[YA]: Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down? [RK]:Do they know the future? Do they have it recorded?
50 | [72:26] Line:5473 |
| ||
[YA]: "He (alone) knows the Unseen, nor does He make any one acquainted with His Mysteries,- [RK]:He is the Knower of the future; He does not reveal the future to anyone.
