Qala ya adamu anbi/humbi-asma-ihim falamma anbaahum bi-asma-ihim qalaalam aqul lakum innee aAAlamu ghayba alssamawatiwaal-ardi waaAAlamu ma tubdoona wamakuntum taktumoona

قال ياادم انبئهم باسمائهم فلما انباهم باسمائهم قال الم اقل لكم اني اعلم غيب السماوات والارض واعلم ماتبدون وماكنتم تكتمون

[YA]: He said: "O Adam! Tell them their names." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?"

[RK]:He said, "O Adam, tell them their names." When he told them their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth? I know what you declare, and what you conceal."

Wala talbisoo alhaqqa bialbatiliwataktumoo alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona

ولاتلبسوا الحق بالباطل وتكتموا الحق وانتم تعلمون

[YA]: And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is).

[RK]:Do not confound the truth with falsehood, nor shall you conceal the truth, knowingly.

Wa-ith qataltum nafsan faiddara/tumfeeha waAllahu mukhrijun ma kuntumtaktumoona

واذ قتلتم نفسا فاداراتم فيها والله مخرج ماكنتم تكتمون

[YA]: Remember ye slew a man and fell into a dispute among yourselves as to the crime: But Allah was to bring forth what ye did hide.

[RK]:You had killed a soul, then disputed among yourselves. GOD was to expose what you tried to conceal.

Am taqooloona inna ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa wayaAAqooba waal-asbata kanoohoodan aw nasara qul aantum aAAlamu ami Allahuwaman athlamu mimman katama shahadatanAAindahu mina Allahi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloona

ام تقولون ان ابراهيم واسماعيل واسحاق ويعقوب والاسباط كانوا هودا او نصاري قل ءانتم اعلم ام الله ومن اظلم ممن كتم شهادة عنده من الله وما الله بغافل عما تعملون

[YA]: Or do ye say that Abraham, Isma'il Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do ye know better than Allah? Ah! who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from Allah? but Allah is not unmindful of what ye do!

[RK]:Do you say that Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs were Jewish or Christian? Say, "Do you know better than GOD? Who is more evil than one who conceals a testimony he has learned from GOD? GOD is never unaware of anything you do."

Allatheena ataynahumualkitaba yaAArifoonahu kama yaAArifoona abnaahumwa-inna fareeqan minhum layaktumoona alhaqqa wahumyaAAlamoona

الذين اتيناهم الكتاب يعرفونه كما يعرفون ابناءهم وان فريقا منهم ليكتمون الحق وهم يعلمون

[YA]: The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know.

[RK]:Those who received the scripture recognize the truth herein, as they recognize their own children. Yet, some of them conceal the truth, knowingly.

Inna allatheena yaktumoona maanzalna mina albayyinati waalhuda minbaAAdi ma bayyannahu lilnnasi feealkitabi ola-ika yalAAanuhumu AllahuwayalAAanuhumu allaAAinoona

ان الذين يكتمون ماانزلنا من البينات والهدي من بعد مابيناه للناس في الكتاب اولئك يلعنهم الله ويلعنهم اللاعنون

[YA]: Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah's curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse,-

[RK]:Those who conceal our revelations and guidance, after proclaiming them for the people in the scripture, are condemned by GOD; they are condemned by all the condemners.

Inna allatheena yaktumoona maanzala Allahu mina alkitabi wayashtaroona bihithamanan qaleelan ola-ika ma ya/kuloona fee butoonihimilla alnnara wala yukallimuhumu Allahuyawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabunaleemun

ان الذين يكتمون ماانزل الله من الكتاب ويشترون به ثمنا قليلا اولئك ماياكلون في بطونهم الا النار ولايكلمهم الله يوم القيامة ولايزكيهم ولهم عذاب اليم

[YA]: Those who conceal Allah's revelations in the Book, and purchase for them a miserable profit,- they swallow into themselves naught but Fire; Allah will not address them on the Day of Resurrection. Nor purify them: Grievous will be their penalty.

[RK]:Those who conceal GOD's revelations in the scripture, in exchange for a cheap material gain, eat but fire into their bellies. GOD will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. They have incurred a painful retribution.

Waalmutallaqatuyatarabbasna bi-anfusihinna thalathata quroo-in walayahillu lahunna an yaktumna ma khalaqa Allahufee arhamihinna in kunna yu/minna biAllahiwaalyawmi al-akhiri wabuAAoolatuhunna ahaqqubiraddihinna fee thalika in aradoo islahanwalahunna mithlu allathee AAalayhinna bialmaAAroofiwalilrrijali AAalayhinna darajatun waAllahuAAazeezun hakeemun

والمطلقات يتربصن بانفسهن ثلاثة قروء ولايحل لهن ان يكتمن ماخلق الله في ارحامهن ان كن يؤمن بالله واليوم الاخر وبعولتهن احق بردهن في ذلك ان ارادوا اصلاحا ولهن مثل الذي عليهن بالمعروف وللرجال عليهن درجة والله عزيز حكيم

[YA]: Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

[RK]:The divorced women shall wait three menstruations (before marrying another man). It is not lawful for them to conceal what GOD creates in their wombs, if they believe in GOD and the Last Day. (In case of pregnancy,) the husband's wishes shall supersede the wife's wishes, if he wants to remarry her. The women have rights, as well as obligations, equitably. Thus, the man's wishes prevail (in case of pregnancy). GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

Wa-in kuntum AAala safarin walamtajidoo katiban farihanun maqboodatun fa-inamina baAAdukum baAAdan falyu-addi allathee

وان كنتم علي سفر ولم تجدوا كاتبا فرهان مقبوضة فان امن بعضكم بعضا فليؤد الذي اؤتمن امانته وليتق الله ربه ولاتكتموا الشهادة ومن يكتمها فانه اثم قلبه والله بما تعملون عليم

[YA]: If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, Let the trustee (Faithfully) discharge His trust, and let him fear his Lord. Conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it,- His heart is tainted with sin. And Allah Knoweth all that ye do.

[RK]:If you are traveling, and no scribe is available, a bond shall be posted to guarantee repayment. If one is trusted in this manner, he shall return the bond when due, and he shall observe GOD his Lord. Do not withhold any testimony by concealing what you had witnessed. Anyone who withholds a testimony is sinful at heart. GOD is fully aware of everything you do.

Ya ahla alkitabi limatalbisoona alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoonaalhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona

يااهل الكتاب لم تلبسون الحق بالباطل وتكتمون الحق وانتم تعلمون

[YA]: Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge?

[RK]:O followers of the scripture, why do you confound the truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth, knowingly?

WaliyaAAlama allatheena nafaqoowaqeela lahum taAAalaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahiawi idfaAAoo qaloo law naAAlamu qitalan laittabaAAnakumhum lilkufri yawma-ithin aqrabu minhum lil-eemaniyaqooloona bi-afwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim waAllahuaAAlamu bima yaktumoona

وليعلم الذين نافقوا وقيل لهم تعالوا قاتلوا في سبيل الله او ادفعوا قالوا لو نعلم قتالا لاتبعناكم هم للكفر يومئذ اقرب منهم للايمان يقولون بافواههم ماليس في قلوبهم والله اعلم بما يكتمون

[YA]: And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal.

[RK]:And to expose the hypocrites who were told, "Come fight in the cause of GOD, or contribute." They said, "If we knew how to fight, we would have joined you." They were closer to disbelief then than they were to belief. They uttered with their mouths what was not in their hearts. GOD knows what they conceal.

Wa-ith akhatha Allahumeethaqa allatheena ootoo alkitabalatubayyinunnahu lilnnasi wala taktumoonahufanabathoohu waraa thuhoorihim waishtarawbihi thamanan qaleelan fabi/sa ma yashtaroona

واذا اخذ الله ميثاق الذين اوتوا الكتاب لتبيننه للناس ولاتكتمونه فنبذوه وراء ظهورهم واشتروابه ثمنا قليلا فبئس مايشترون

[YA]: And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!

[RK]:GOD took a covenant from those who received the scripture: "You shall proclaim it to the people, and never conceal it." But they disregarded it behind their backs, and traded it away for a cheap price. What a miserable trade.

Allatheena yabkhaloona waya/muroona alnnasabialbukhli wayaktumoona ma atahumuAllahu min fadlihi waaAAtadna lilkafireenaAAathaban muheenan

الذين يبخلون ويامرون الناس بالبخل ويكتمون مااتاهم الله من فضله واعتدنا للكافرين عذابا مهينا

[YA]: (Nor) those who are niggardly or enjoin niggardliness on others, or hide the bounties which Allah hath bestowed on them; for We have prepared, for those who resist Faith, a punishment that steeps them in contempt;-

[RK]:The ones who are stingy, exhort the people to be stingy, and conceal what GOD has bestowed upon them from His bounties. We have prepared for the disbelievers a shameful retribution.

Yawma-ithin yawaddu allatheenakafaroo waAAasawoo alrrasoola law tusawwabihimu al-ardu wala yaktumoona Allaha hadeethan

يومئذ يود الذين كفروا وعصوا الرسول لو تسوي بهم الارض ولايكتمون الله حديثا

[YA]: On that day those who reject Faith and disobey the messenger will wish that the earth Were made one with them: But never will they hide a single fact from Allah!

[RK]:On that day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the messenger will wish that they were level with the ground; not a single utterance will they be able to hide from GOD.

Wa-itha jaookum qaloo amannawaqad dakhaloo bialkufri wahum qad kharajoo bihi waAllahuaAAlamu bima kanoo yaktumoona

واذا جاؤوكم قالوا امنا وقد دخلوا بالكفر وهم قد خرجوا به والله اعلم بما كانوا يكتمون

[YA]: When they come to thee, they say: "We believe": but in fact they enter with a mind against Faith, and they go out with the same but Allah knoweth fully all that they hide.

[RK]:When they come to you, they say, "We believe," even though they were full of disbelief when they entered, and they are full of disbelief when they leave. GOD is fully aware of everything they conceal.

Ma AAala alrrasooli illaalbalaghu waAllahu yaAAlamu matubdoona wama taktumoona

ماعلي الرسول الا البلاغ والله يعلم ماتبدون وماتكتمون

[YA]: The Messenger's duty is but to proclaim (the message). But Allah knoweth all that ye reveal and ye conceal.

[RK]:The sole duty of the messenger is to deliver the message, and GOD knows everything you declare and everything you conceal.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooshahadatu baynikum itha hadara ahadakumualmawtu heena alwasiyyati ithnani thawaAAadlin minkum aw akharani min ghayrikum in antum darabtumfee al-ardi faasabatkum museebatu almawti tahbisoonahumamin baAAdi alssalati fayuqsimani biAllahiini irtabtum la nashtaree bihi thamanan walaw kana thaqurba wala naktumu shahadata Allahiinna ithan lamina al-athimeena

ياايها الذين امنوا شهادة بينكم اذا حضر احدكم الموت حين الوصية اثنان ذوا عدل منكم او اخران من غيركم ان انتم ضربتم في الارض فاصابتكم مصيبة الموت تحبسونهما من بعد الصلاة فيقسمان بالله ان ارتبتم لانشتري به ثمنا ولو كان ذا قربي ولانكتم شهادة الله انا اذا لمن الاثمين

[YA]: O ye who believe! When death approaches any of you, (take) witnesses among yourselves when making bequests,- two just men of your own (brotherhood) or others from outside if ye are journeying through the earth, and the chance of death befalls you (thus). If ye doubt (their truth), detain them both after prayer, and let them both swear by Allah: "We wish not in this for any worldly gain, even though the (beneficiary) be our near relation: we shall hide not the evidence before Allah: if we do, then behold! the sin be upon us!"

[RK]:O you who believe, witnessing a will when one of you is dying shall be done by two equitable people among you. If you are traveling, then two others may do the witnessing. After observing the Contact Prayer (Salat), let the witnesses swear by GOD, to alleviate your doubts: "We will not use this to attain personal gains, even if the testator is related to us. Nor will we conceal GOD's testimony. Otherwise, we would be sinners."

انه يعلم الجهر من القول ويعلم ماتكتمون

[YA]: "It is He Who knows what is open in speech and what ye hide (in your hearts).

[RK]:"He is fully aware of your public utterances, and He is fully aware of everything you conceal.

Laysa AAalaykum junahun an tadkhuloobuyootan ghayra maskoonatin feeha mataAAun lakum waAllahuyaAAlamu ma tubdoona wama taktumoona

ليس عليكم جناح ان تدخلوا بيوتا غير مسكونة فيها متاع لكم والله يعلم ماتبدون وماتكتمون

[YA]: It is no fault on your part to enter houses not used for living in, which serve some (other) use for you: And Allah has knowledge of what ye reveal and what ye conceal.

[RK]:You commit no error by entering uninhabited homes wherein there is something that belongs to you. GOD knows everything you reveal, and everything you conceal.

Waqala rajulun mu/minun min alifirAAawna yaktumu eemanahu ataqtuloona rajulan an yaqoolarabbiyya Allahu waqad jaakum bialbayyinatimin rabbikum wa-in yaku kathiban faAAalayhi kathibuhuwa-in yaku sadiqan yusibkum baAAdu allatheeyaAAidukum inna Allaha la yahdee man huwa musrifunkaththabun

وقال رجل مؤمن من ال فرعون يكتم ايمانه اتقتلون رجلا ان يقول ربي الله وقد جاءكم بالبينات من ربكم وان يك كاذبا فعليه كذبه وان يك صادقا يصبكم بعض الذي يعدكم ان الله لايهدي من هو مسرف كذاب

[YA]: A believer, a man from among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said: "Will ye slay a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah'?- when he has indeed come to you with Clear (Signs) from your Lord? and if he be a liar, on him is (the sin of) his lie: but, if he is telling the Truth, then will fall on you something of the (calamity) of which he warns you: Truly Allah guides not one who transgresses and lies!

[RK]:A believing man among Pharaoh's people, who was concealing his belief, said, "How can you kill a man just for saying, `My Lord is GOD,' and he has shown you clear proofs from your Lord? If he is a liar, that is his problem, and if he is truthful, you benefit from his promises. Surely, GOD does not guide any transgressor, liar.
