[YA]: The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of wisdom. [RK]:The example of such disbelievers is that of parrots who repeat what they hear of sounds and calls, without understanding. Deaf, dumb, and blind; they cannot understand.

[YA]: They thought there would be no trial (or punishment); so they became blind and deaf; yet Allah (in mercy) turned to them; yet again many of them became blind and deaf. GOD is Seer of everything they do.

7 | [10:42] Line:1406 |
| ||
[YA]: Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding? [RK]:Some of them listen to you, but can you make the deaf hear, even though they cannot understand?
8 | [11:24] Line:1497 |
| ||
[YA]: These two kinds (of men) may be compared to the blind and deaf, and those who can see and hear well. Are they equal when compared? Will ye not then take heed? [RK]:The example of these two groups is like the blind and deaf, compared to the seer and hearer. Are they equal? Would you not take heed?

[YA]: It is he whom Allah guides, that is on true Guidance; but he whom He leaves astray - for such wilt thou find no protector besides Him. On the Day of Judgment We shall gather, them together, prone on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf: their abode will be Hell: every time it shows abatement, We shall increase from them the fierceness of the Fire. [RK]:Whomever GOD guides is the truly guided one. And whomever He sends astray, you will never find for them any lords and masters beside Him. We will summon them on the Day of Resurrection forcibly; blind, dumb, and deaf. Their destination is Hell; whenever it cools down, we will increase their fire.
10 | [21:45] Line:2528 |

[YA]: Say, "I do but warn you according to revelation": But the deaf will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned! [RK]:Say, "I am warning you in accordance with divine inspiration." However, the deaf cannot hear the call, when they are warned.
11 | [25:73] Line:2928 |

[YA]: Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind; [RK]:When reminded of their Lord's revelations, they never react to them as if they were deaf and blind.

13 | [30:52] Line:3461 |
| ||
[YA]: So verily thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away. [RK]:You cannot make the dead, nor the deaf, hear the call, once they turn away.
