Send us from heaven a table set (with viands), that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a solemn festival and a sign from thee; and provide for our sustenance, for thou art the best Sustainer (of our needs)." [RK]:Said Jesus, the son of Mary, "Our god, our Lord, send down to us a feast from the sky. Let it bring plenty for each and every one of us, and a sign from You. Provide for us; You are the best Provider." | ||||

| [YA]: To Him will be your return- of all of you. The promise of Allah is true and sure. It is He Who beginneth the process of creation, and repeateth it, that He may reward with justice those who believe and work righteousness; but those who reject Him will have draughts of boiling fluids, and a penalty grievous, because they did reject Him. [RK]:To Him is your ultimate return, all of you. This is GOD's truthful promise. He initiates the creation, then repeats it, in order to reward those who believe and lead a righteous life, equitably. As for those who disbelieve, they incur hellish drinks, and a painful retribution for their disbelieving. | ||||

[RK]:Say, "Can any of your idols initiate creation, then repeat it?" Say, "GOD initiates the creation, then repeats it." | ||||

| [YA]: "Or created matter which, in your minds, is hardest (to be raised up),- (Yet shall ye be raised up)!" then will they say: "Who will cause us to return?" Say: "He who created you first!" Then will they wag their heads towards thee, and say, "When will that be?" Say, "May be it will be quite soon! [RK]:"Even if you turn into any kind of creation that you deem impossible." They will then say, "Who will bring us back?" Say, "The One who created you in the first place." They will then shake their heads and say, "When will that be?" Say, "It may be closer than you think." | ||||

| [YA]: Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper. Therein against Us? [RK]:Have you guaranteed that He will not return you to the sea another time, then send upon you a storm that drowns you because of your disbelief? Once this happens, we will not give you another chance. | ||||

| [YA]: "For if they should come upon you, they would stone you or force you to return to their cult, and in that case ye would never attain prosperity." [RK]:"If they discover you, they will stone you, or force you to revert to their religion, then you can never succeed." | ||||

| [YA]: (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. [RK]:He said, "Pick it up; do not be afraid. We will return it to its original state. | ||||

| [YA]: From the (earth) did We create you, and into it shall We return you, and from it shall We bring you out once again. [RK]:From it we created you, into it we return you, and from it we bring you out once more. | ||||

| [YA]: The Day that We roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books (completed),- even as We produced the first creation, so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it. [RK]:On that day, we will fold the heaven, like the folding of a book. Just as we initiated the first creation, we will repeat it. This is our promise; we will certainly carry it out. | ||||

| [YA]: Every time they wish to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be forced back therein, and (it will be said), "Taste ye the Penalty of Burning!" [RK]:Whenever they try to exit such misery, they will be forced back in: "Taste the agony of burning." | ||||

| [YA]: Or, Who originates creation, then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? Say, "Bring forth your argument, if ye are telling the truth!" [RK]:Who is the One who initiates the creation, then repeats it? Who is the One who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Is it another god with GOD? Say, "Show me your proof, if you are truthful." | ||||

| [YA]: See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah. [RK]:Have they not seen how GOD initiates the creation, then repeats it? This is easy for GOD to do. | ||||

To Him belongs the loftiest similitude (we can think of) in the heavens and the earth: for He is Exalted in Might, full of wisdom. To Him belongs the most sublime similitude, in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, Most Wise. | ||||

| [YA]: As to those who are rebellious and wicked, their abode will be the Fire: every time they wish to get away therefrom, they will be forced thereinto, and it will be said to them: "Taste ye the Penalty of the Fire, the which ye were wont to reject as false." [RK]:As for the wicked, their destiny is Hell. Every time they try to leave it, they will be forced back. They will be told, "Taste the agony of Hell which you used to disbelieve in." | ||||

| [YA]: Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything." [RK]:Say, "The truth has come; while falsehood can neither initiate anything, nor repeat it." | ||||
