Wa-ith qulna odkhuloo hathihialqaryata fakuloo minha haythu shi/tum raghadan waodkhulooalbaba sujjadan waqooloo hittatun naghfirlakum khatayakum wasanazeedu almuhsineenaواذ قلنا ادخلوا هذه القرية فكلوا منها حيث شئتم رغدا وادخلوا الباب سجدا وقولوا حطة نغفر لكم خطاياكم وسنزيدالمحسنين
[YA]: And remember We said: "Enter this town, and eat of the plenty therein as ye wish; but enter the gate with humility, in posture and in words, and We shall forgive you your faults and increase (the portion of) those who do good."

[RK]:Recall that we said, "Enter this town, where you will find as many provisions as you like. Just enter the gate humbly, and treat the people nicely. We will then forgive your sins, and increase the reward for the pious."

WarafaAAna fawqahumu alttoorabimeethaqihim waqulna lahumu odkhuloo albabasujjadan waqulna lahum la taAAdoo fee alssabtiwaakhathna minhum meethaqan ghaleethanورفعنا فوقهم الطور بميثاقهم وقلنا لهم ادخلوا الباب سجدا وقلنا لهم لاتعدوا في السبت واخذنا منهم ميثاقا غليظا
[YA]: And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant.

[RK]:And we raised Mount Sinai above them, as we took their covenant. And we said to them, "Enter the gate humbly." And we said to them, "Do not desecrate the Sabbath." Indeed, we took from them a solemn covenant.

Qala rajulani mina allatheenayakhafoona anAAama Allahu AAalayhimaodkhuloo AAalayhimu albaba fa-itha dakhaltumoohufa-innakum ghaliboona waAAala Allahifatawakkaloo in kuntum mu/mineenaقال رجلان من الذين يخافون انعم الله عليهما ادخلوا عليهم الباب فاذا دخلتموه فانكم غالبون وعلي الله فتوكلوا ان كنتم مؤمنين
[YA]: (But) among (their) Allah-fearing men were two on whom Allah had bestowed His grace: They said: "Assault them at the (proper) Gate: when once ye are in, victory will be yours; But on Allah put your trust if ye have faith."

[RK]:Two men who were reverent and blessed by GOD said, "Just enter the gate. If you just enter it, you will surely prevail. You must trust in GOD, if you are believers."

[YA]: And remember it was said to them: "Dwell in this town and eat therein as ye wish, but say the word of humility and enter the gate in a posture of humility: We shall forgive you your faults; We shall increase (the portion of) those who do good."

[RK]:Recall that they were told, "Go into this town to live, and eat therefrom as you please, treat the people amicably, and enter the gate humbly. We will then forgive your transgressions. We will multiply the reward for the righteous."

Waistabaqa albabawaqaddat qameesahu min duburin waalfaya sayyidahalada albabi qalat ma jazao manarada bi-ahlika soo-an illa an yusjana aw AAathabunaleemunواستبقا الباب وقدت قميصه من دبر والفيا سيدها لدي الباب قالت ماجزاء من اراد باهلك سوءا الا ان يسجن او عذاب اليم
[YA]: So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back: they both found her lord near the door. She said: "What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?"

[RK]:The two of them raced towards the door, and, in the process, she tore his garment from the back. They found her husband at the door. She said, "What should be the punishment for one who wanted to molest your wife, except imprisonment or a painful punishment?"

Waqala ya baniyya latadkhuloo min babin wahidin waodkhuloo minabwabin mutafarriqatin wama oghnee AAankum mina Allahimin shay-in ini alhukmu illa lillahiAAalayhi tawakkaltu waAAalayhi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloonaوقال يابني لاتدخلوا من باب واحد وادخلوا من ابواب متفرقة ومااغني عنكم من الله من شئ ان الحكم الا لله عليه توكلت وعليه فليتوكل المتوكلون
[YA]: Further he said: "O my sons! enter not all by one gate: enter ye by different gates. Not that I can profit you aught against Allah (with my advice): None can command except Allah: On Him do I put my trust: and let all that trust put their trust on Him."

[RK]:And he said, "O my sons, do not enter from one door; enter through separate doors. However, I cannot save you from anything that is predetermined by GOD. To GOD belongs all judgments. I trust in Him, and in Him shall all the trusters put their trust."

[YA]: Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring: and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation):

[RK]:They enter the gardens of Eden, together with the righteous among their parents, their spouses, and their children. The angels will enter in to them from every door.

[YA]: Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,

[RK]:Even if we opened for them a gate into the sky, through which they climb;

[YA]: To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.

[RK]:"It will have seven gates. Each gate will get a specific share of them."

Hatta itha fatahnaAAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin ithahum feehi mublisoonaحتي اذا فتحنا عليهم بابا ذا عذاب شديد اذا هم فيه مبلسون
[YA]: Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein!

[RK]:Subsequently, when we requited them with the severe retribution they had incurred, they were shocked.

Yawma yaqoolu almunafiqoona waalmunafiqatulillatheena amanoo onthuroonanaqtabis min noorikum qeela irjiAAoo waraakum failtamisoonooran faduriba baynahum bisoorin lahu babun batinuhufeehi alrrahmatu wathahiruhumin qibalihi alAAathabuيوم يقول المنافقون والمنافقات للذين امنوا انظرونا نقتبس من نوركم قيل ارجعوا وراءكم فالتمسوا نورا فضرب بينهم بسور له باب باطنه فيه الرحمة وظاهره من قبله العذاب
[YA]: One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment!

[RK]:On that day, the hypocrite men and women will say to those who believed, "Please allow us to absorb some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you, and seek light." A barrier will be set up between them, whose gate separates mercy on the inner side, from retribution on the outer side.
