Ola-ika allatheena haqqaAAalayhimu alqawlu fee umamin qad khalat min qablihim minaaljinni waal-insi innahum kanoo khasireenaاولئك الذين حق عليهم القول في امم قد خلت من قبلهم من الجن والانس انهم كانوا خاسرين
[YA]: Such are they against whom is proved the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, that have passed away; for they will be (utterly) lost.

[RK]:Such are the ones stamped as disbelievers among every generation of jinns and humans; they are losers.

Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareediولقد خلقنا الانسان ونعلم ماتوسوس به نفسه ونحن اقرب اليه من حبل الوريد
[YA]: It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.

[RK]:We created the human, and we know what he whispers to himself. We are closer to him than his jugular vein.

[YA]: I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me.

[RK]:I did not create the jinns and the humans except to worship Me alone.

[YA]: Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?

[RK]:What is it that the human being desires?

[YA]: That man can have nothing but what he strives for;

[RK]:Every human being is responsible for his own works.

[YA]: He has created man:

[RK]:Creator of the human beings.

[YA]: He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,

[RK]:He created the human from aged clay, like the potter's clay.

Ya maAAshara aljinni waal-insiini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawatiwaal-ardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoonailla bisultaninيامعشر الجن والانس ان استطعتم ان تنفذوا من اقطار السماوات والارض فانفذوا لاتنفذون الا بسلطان
[YA]: O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass!

[RK]:O you jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the outer limits of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and penetrate. You cannot penetrate without authorization.

Fayawma-ithin la yus-alu AAan thanbihiinsun wala jannunفيومئذ لايسال عن ذنبه انس ولاجان
[YA]: On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin.

[RK]:On that day, no human, nor a jinn, will be asked about his sins.

Feehinna qasiratu alttarfilam yatmithhunna insun qablahum wala jannunفيهن قاصرات الطرف لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولاجان
[YA]: In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-

[RK]:Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn.

[YA]: Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-

[RK]:No human ever touched them, nor a jinn.

[YA]: (Their allies deceived them), like the Evil One, when he says to man, "Deny Allah": but when (man) denies Allah, (the Evil One) says, "I am free of thee: I do fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!"

[RK]:They are like the devil: he says to the human being, "Disbelieve," then as soon as he disbelieves, he says, "I disown you. I fear GOD, Lord of the universe."

[YA]: Truly man was created very impatient;-

[RK]:Indeed, the human being is anxious.

[YA]: 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah.

[RK]:" `We thought that neither the humans, nor the jinns, could possibly utter lies about GOD.

Waannahu kana rijalun minaal-insi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohumrahaqanوانه كان رجال من الانس يعوذون برجال من الجن فزادوهم رهقا
[YA]: 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly.

[RK]:" `Human beings used to seek power through jinn beings, but they only afflicted them with a lot of adversity.

[YA]: Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?

[RK]:Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones?

Bal yureedu al-insanu liyafjura amamahuبل يريد الانسان ليفجر امامه
[YA]: But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.

[RK]:But the human being tends to believe only what he sees in front of him.

Yaqoolu al-insanu yawma-ithinayna almafarruيقول الانسان يومئذ اين المفر
[YA]: That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"

[RK]:The human being will say on that day, "Where is the escape?"

[YA]: That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back.

[RK]:The human being will be informed, on that day, of everything he did to advance himself, and everything he did to regress himself.

[YA]: Nay, man will be evidence against himself,

[RK]:The human being will be his own judge.

[YA]: Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)?

[RK]:Does the human being think that he will go to nothing?

Hal ata AAala al-insani heenunmina alddahri lam yakun shay-an mathkooranهل اتي علي الانسان حين من الدهر لم يكن شيئا مذكورا
[YA]: Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned?

[RK]:Is it not a fact that there was a time when the human being was nothing to be mentioned?

Inna khalaqna al-insanamin nutfatin amshajin nabtaleehi fajaAAalnahusameeAAan baseeranانا خلقنا الانسان من نطفة امشاج نبتليه فجعلناه سميعا بصيرا
[YA]: Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight.

[RK]:We created the human from a liquid mixture, from two parents, in order to test him. Thus, we made him a hearer and a seer.

[YA]: The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for,

[RK]:That is the day when the human will remember everything he did.

[YA]: Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah;

[RK]:Woe to the human being; he is so unappreciative!

[YA]: Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it):

[RK]:Let the human consider his food!

[YA]: O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?-

[RK]:O you human being, what diverted you from your Lord Most Honorable?

Ya ayyuha al-insanuinnaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhanfamulaqeehiياايها الانسان انك كادح الي ربك كدحا فملاقيه
[YA]: O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him.

[RK]:O humans, you are irreversibly heading for a meeting with your Lord.

[YA]: Now let man but think from what he is created!

[RK]:Let the human reflect on his creation.

Faamma al-insanu itha maibtalahu rabbuhu faakramahu wanaAAAAamahu fayaqoolu rabbeeakramaniفاما الانسان اذا ماابتلاه ربه فاكرمه ونعمه فيقول ربي اكرمن
[YA]: Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me."

[RK]:When the human being is tested by his Lord, through blessings and joy, he says, "My Lord is generous towards me."

Wajee-a yawma-ithin bijahannamayawma-ithin yatathakkaru al-insanu waannalahu alththikraوجيئ يومئذ بجهنم يومئذ يتذكر الانسان واني له الذكري
[YA]: And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him?

[RK]:On that day, Gehenna will be brought forth. On that day, the human being will remember - but what a remembrance - it will be too late.

[YA]: Verily We have created man into toil and struggle.

[RK]:We created the human being to work hard (to redeem himself).

[YA]: We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,

[RK]:We created man in the best design.

[YA]: Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:

[RK]:He created man from an embryo.

[YA]: Taught man that which he knew not.

[RK]:He teaches man what he never knew.

[YA]: Day, but man doth transgress all bounds,

[RK]:Indeed, the human transgresses.

Waqala al-insanu ma lahaوقال الانسان مالها
[YA]: And man cries (distressed): 'What is the matter with her?'-

[RK]:The human will wonder: "What is happening?"

Inna al-insana lirabbihi lakanoodunان الانسان لربه لكنود
[YA]: Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;

[RK]:The human being is unappreciative of his Lord.

Inna al-insana lafee khusrinان الانسان لفي خسر
[YA]: Verily Man is in loss,

[RK]:The human being is utterly lost.
