[YA]: But they will never seek for death, on account of the (sins) which their hands have sent on before them. and Allah is well-acquainted with the wrong-doers. [RK]:They never long for it, because of what their hands have sent forth. GOD is fully aware of the wicked.
2 | [2:110] Line:117 |
| ||
[YA]: And be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity: And whatever good ye send forth for your souls before you, ye shall find it with Allah: for Allah sees Well all that ye do. [RK]:You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat). Any good you send forth on behalf of your souls, you will find it at GOD. GOD is seer of everything you do.
3 | [2:223] Line:230 |
| ||
[YA]: Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will; but do some good act for your souls beforehand; and fear Allah. And know that ye are to meet Him (in the Hereafter), and give (these) good tidings to those who believe. [RK]:Your women are the bearers of your seed. Thus, you may enjoy this privilege however you like, so long as you maintain righteousness. You shall observe GOD, and know that you will meet Him. Give good news to the believers.
4 | [2:250] Line:257 |
| ||
[YA]: When they advanced to meet Goliath and his forces, they prayed: "Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm: Help us against those that reject faith." [RK]:When they faced Goliath and his troops, they prayed, "Our Lord, grant us steadfastness, strengthen our foothold, and support us against the disbelieving people."
5 | [3:147] Line:440 |
| ||
[YA]: All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith." [RK]:Their only utterance was, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins, and our transgressions, strengthen our foothold, and grant us victory over the disbelievers."
6 | [3:182] Line:475 |
| ||
[YA]: "This is because of the (unrighteous deeds) which your hands sent on before ye: For Allah never harms those who serve Him." [RK]:"This is the consequence of your own works." GOD is never unjust towards the people.
7 | [4:62] Line:555 |
| ||
[YA]: How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah: "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!" [RK]:How will it be when a disaster hits them, as a consequence of their own works? They will come to you then and swear by GOD: "Our intentions were good and righteous!"
8 | [5:80] Line:749 |
| ||
[YA]: Thou seest many of them turning in friendship to the Unbelievers. Evil indeed are (the works) which their souls have sent forward before them (with the result), that Allah's wrath is on them, and in torment will they abide. [RK]:You would see many of them allying themselves with those who disbelieve. Miserable indeed is what their hands have sent forth on behalf of their souls. GOD is angry with them and, consequently, they will abide forever in retribution.
9 | [7:34] Line:988 |
| ||
[YA]: To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation). [RK]:For each community, there is a predetermined life span. Once their interim comes to an end, they cannot delay it by one hour, nor advance it.
10 | [8:11] Line:1171 |
| ||
[YA]: Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith. [RK]:He caused peaceful slumber to overtake you and pacify you, and He sent down water from the sky to clean you therewith. He protected you from the devil's curse, reassured your hearts and strengthened your foothold.
11 | [8:51] Line:1211 |
| ||
[YA]: "Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth; for Allah is never unjust to His servants: [RK]:"This is a consequence of what your hands have sent forth. GOD is never unjust towards the creatures."
12 | [10:2] Line:1366 |
| ||
[YA]: Is it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves?- that he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of truth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer!" [RK]:Is it too much of a wonder for the people that we inspired a man like them? He (was inspired to say), "You shall warn the people, and give good news to those who believe that they have attained a position of prominence at their Lord." The disbelievers said, "This is a clever magician!"
13 | [10:49] Line:1413 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." [RK]:Say, "I possess no power to harm myself, or benefit myself; only what GOD wills takes place." Each community has a predetermined life span. Once their interim comes to an end, they cannot delay it by one hour, nor advance it.
14 | [11:98] Line:1571 |
| ||
[YA]: He will go before his people on the Day of Judgment, and lead them into the Fire (as cattle are led to water): But woeful indeed will be the place to which they are led! [RK]:He will lead his people on the Day of Resurrection, all the way to Hell; what a miserable abode to live in!
15 | [12:48] Line:1644 |
| ||
[YA]: "Then will come after that (period) seven dreadful (years), which will devour what ye shall have laid by in advance for them,- (all) except a little which ye shall have (specially) guarded. [RK]:"After that, seven years of drought will come, which will consume most of what you stored for them.
16 | [12:95] Line:1691 |
| ||
[YA]: They said: "By Allah! truly thou art in thine old wandering mind." [RK]:They said, "By GOD, you are still in your old confusion."
17 | [15:24] Line:1826 |
| ||
[YA]: To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind. [RK]:And we fully know those among you who advance, and we fully know those who regress.
18 | [16:61] Line:1962 |
| ||
[YA]: If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour). [RK]:If GOD punished the people for their transgressions, He would have annihilated every creature on earth. But He respites them for a specific, predetermined time. Once their interim ends, they cannot delay it by one hour, nor advance it.
19 | [16:94] Line:1995 |
| ||
[YA]: And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourselves, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and a Mighty Wrath descend on you. [RK]:Do not abuse the oaths among you, lest you slide back after having a strong foothold, then you incur misery. Such is the consequence of repelling from the path of GOD (by setting a bad example); you incur a terrible retribution.
20 | [18:57] Line:2197 |
| ||
[YA]: And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance. [RK]:Who are more evil than those who are reminded of their Lord's proofs, then disregard them, without realizing what they are doing. Consequently, we place shields on their hearts to prevent them from understanding it (the Quran), and deafness in their ears. Thus, no matter what you do to guide them, they can never ever be guided.
21 | [22:10] Line:2605 |
| ||
[YA]: (It will be said): "This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is not unjust to His servants. [RK]:This is what your hands have sent ahead for you. GOD is never unjust towards the people.
22 | [25:23] Line:2878 |
| ||
[YA]: And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. [RK]:We will look at all the works they have done, and render them null and void.
23 | [26:76] Line:3008 |
| ||
[YA]: "Ye and your fathers before you?- [RK]:"You and your ancestors.
24 | [28:47] Line:3299 |
| ||
[YA]: If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: "Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!" [RK]:Thus, they cannot say, when a disaster strikes them as a consequence of their own deeds, "Our Lord, had You sent a messenger to us, we would have followed Your revelations, and would have been believers."
25 | [30:36] Line:3445 |
| ||
[YA]: When We give men a taste of Mercy, they exult thereat: and when some evil afflicts them because of what their (own) hands have sent forth, behold, they are in despair! [RK]:When we bestow mercy upon the people, they rejoice therein. But when adversity befalls them, as a consequence of their own works, they become despondent.
26 | [34:30] Line:3636 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "The appointment to you is for a Day, which ye cannot put back for an hour nor put forward." [RK]:Say, "You have a specific time, on a specific day, that you cannot delay by one hour, nor advance."
27 | [36:12] Line:3717 |
| ||
[YA]: Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence). [RK]:We will certainly revive the dead, and we have recorded everything they have done in this life, as well as the consequences that continue after their death. Everything we have counted in a profound record.
28 | [36:39] Line:3744 |
| ||
[YA]: And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. [RK]:The moon we designed to appear in stages, until it becomes like an old curved sheath.
29 | [38:60] Line:4030 |
| ||
[YA]: (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" [RK]:The newcomers will respond, "Nor are you welcomed. You are the ones who preceded us and misled us. Therefore, suffer this miserable end."
30 | [38:61] Line:4031 |
| ||
[YA]: They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" [RK]:They will also say, "Our Lord, these are the ones who led us into this; double the retribution of hellfire for them."
31 | [41:29] Line:4247 |
| ||
[YA]: And the Unbelievers will say: "Our Lord! Show us those, among Jinns and men, who misled us: We shall crush them beneath our feet, so that they become the vilest (before all)." [RK]:Those who disbelieved will say, "Our Lord, show us those among the two kinds - jinns and humans - who misled us, so we can trample them under our feet, and render them the lowliest."
32 | [42:48] Line:4320 |
| ||
[YA]: If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful! [RK]:If they turn away, we did not send you as their guardian. Your sole mission is delivering the message. When we shower the human beings with mercy, they become proud, and when adversity afflicts them, as a consequence of their own deeds, the human beings turn into disbelievers.
33 | [46:11] Line:4521 |
| ||
[YA]: The Unbelievers say of those who believe: "If (this Message) were a good thing, (such men) would not have gone to it first, before us!" And seeing that they guide not themselves thereby, they will say, "this is an (old,) falsehood!" [RK]:Those who disbelieved said about those who believed, "If it were anything good, they would not have accepted it before us." Because they were not guided to it, they said, "This is an old fabrication!"
34 | [47:7] Line:4552 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. [RK]:O you who believe, if you support GOD, He will support you, and strengthen your foothold.
35 | [48:2] Line:4585 |
| ||
[YA]: That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way; [RK]:Whereby GOD forgives your past sins, as well as future sins, and perfects His blessings upon you, and guides you in a straight path.
36 | [49:1] Line:4613 |
| ||
[YA]: O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger; but fear Allah: for Allah is He Who hears and knows all things. [RK]:O you who believe, do not place your opinion above that of GOD and His messenger. You shall reverence GOD. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.
37 | [50:28] Line:4658 |
| ||
[YA]: He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. [RK]:He said, "Do not feud in front of Me; I have sufficiently warned you.
38 | [55:41] Line:4942 |
| ||
[YA]: (For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. [RK]:(This is because) the guilty will be recognized by their looks; they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.
39 | [58:12] Line:5116 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! When ye consult the Messenger in private, spend something in charity before your private consultation. That will be best for you, and most conducive to purity (of conduct). But if ye find not (the wherewithal), Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [RK]:O you who believe, when you wish to confer with the messenger, you shall offer a charity (to the poor) before you do so. This is better for you, and purer. If you cannot afford it, then GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
40 | [58:13] Line:5117 |
| ||
[YA]: Is it that ye are afraid of spending sums in charity before your private consultation (with him)? If, then, ye do not so, and Allah forgives you, then (at least) establish regular prayer; practise regular charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. [RK]:If you failed to give to charity before conferring, then repented thereafter, GOD accepts your repentance. You shall observe the contact prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and obey GOD and His messenger. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
41 | [59:18] Line:5144 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what (provision) He has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. [RK]:O you who believe, you shall reverence GOD, and let every soul examine what it has sent ahead for tomorrow. You shall reverence GOD; GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
42 | [62:7] Line:5184 |
| ||
[YA]: But never will they express their desire (for Death), because of the (deeds) their hands have sent on before them! and Allah knows well those that do wrong! [RK]:They will never long for it, because of what they have committed. GOD is fully aware of the wicked.
43 | [73:20] Line:5495 |
| ||
[YA]: Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [RK]:Your Lord knows that you meditate during two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it, and so do some of those who believed with you. GOD has designed the night and the day, and He knows that you cannot always do this. He has pardoned you. Instead, you shall read what you can of the Quran. He knows that some of you may be ill, others may be traveling in pursuit of GOD's provisions, and others may be striving in the cause of GOD. You shall read what you can of it, and observe the contact prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and lend GOD a loan of righteousness. Whatever good you send ahead on behalf of your souls, you will find it at GOD far better and generously rewarded. And implore GOD for forgiveness. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
44 | [74:37] Line:5532 |
| ||
[YA]: To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- [RK]:For those among you who wish to advance, or regress.
45 | [75:13] Line:5564 |
| ||
[YA]: That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. [RK]:The human being will be informed, on that day, of everything he did to advance himself, and everything he did to regress himself.
46 | [78:40] Line:5712 |
| ||
[YA]: Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!" [RK]:We have sufficiently warned you about an imminent retribution. That is the day when everyone will examine what his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish I were dust."
47 | [82:5] Line:5834 |
| ||
[YA]: (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. [RK]:Every soul will find out what caused it to advance, and what caused it to regress.
48 | [89:24] Line:6017 |
| ||
[YA]: He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" [RK]:He will say, "Oh, I wish I prepared for my (eternal) life."
