[YA]: To the Thamud people (We sent) Salih, one of their own brethren: He said: "O my people! worship Allah: ye have no other god but Him. Now hath come unto you a clear (Sign) from your Lord! This she-camel of Allah is a Sign unto you: So leave her to graze in Allah's earth, and let her come to no harm, or ye shall be seized with a grievous punishment. [RK]:To Thamoud we sent their brother Saaleh. He said, "O my people, worship GOD; you have no other god beside Him. Proof has been provided for you from your Lord: here is GOD's camel, to serve as a sign for you. Let her eat from GOD's land, and do not touch her with any harm, lest you incur a painful retribution.

[YA]: Hath not the story reached them of those before them?- the People of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud; the People of Abraham, the men of Midian, and the cities overthrown. To them came their messengers with clear signs. It is not Allah Who wrongs them, but they wrong their own souls. [RK]:Have they not learned anything from the previous generations; the people of Noah, `Aad, Thamood, the people of Abraham, the dwellers of Midyan, and the evildoers (of Sodom and Gomorrah)? Their messengers went to them with clear proofs. GOD never wronged them; they are the ones who wronged their own souls.

[YA]: To the Thamud People (We sent) Salih, one of their own brethren. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah: ye have no other god but Him. It is He Who hath produced you from the earth and settled you therein: then ask forgiveness of Him, and turn to Him (in repentance): for my Lord is (always) near, ready to answer." [RK]:To Thamoud we sent their brother Saaleh. He said, "O my people, worship GOD; you have no other god beside Him. He initiated you from the earth, then settled you in it. You shall seek His forgiveness, then repent to Him. My Lord is always near, responsive."

[YA]: As if they had never dwelt and flourished there. Ah! Behold! for the Thamud rejected their Lord and Cherisher! Ah! Behold! removed (from sight) were the Thamud! [RK]:It was as if they never lived there. Indeed, Thamoud have rejected their Lord. Absolutely, Thamoud have incurred their annihilation.

[YA]: As if they had never dwelt and flourished there! Ah! Behold! How the Madyan were removed (from sight) as were removed the Thamud! [RK]:It was as though they never existed. Thus, Midyan perished, just like Thamoud had perished before that.

[YA]: Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us." [RK]:Have you not heard about those before you - the people of Noah, `Aad, Thamoud, and others who came after them and known only to GOD? Their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they treated them with contempt and said, "We disbelieve in what you are sent with. We are skeptical about your message; full of doubt."
8 | [17:59] Line:2088 |
| ||
[YA]: And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil). [RK]:What stopped us from sending the miracles is that the previous generations have rejected them. For example, we showed Thamoud the camel, a profound (miracle), but they transgressed against it. We sent the miracles only to instill reverence.
9 | [22:42] Line:2637 |
| ||
[YA]: If they treat thy (mission) as false, so did the peoples before them (with their prophets),- the People of Noah, and 'Ad and Thamud; [RK]:If they reject you, the people of Noah, `Aad, and Thamoud have also disbelieved before them.
10 | [25:38] Line:2893 |

[YA]: As also 'Ad and Thamud, and the Companions of the Rass, and many a generation between them. [RK]:Also `Aad, Thamoud, the inhabitants of Al-Russ, and many generations between them.

[YA]: We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah": But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other. [RK]:We have sent to Thamoud their brother Saaleh, saying, "You shall worship GOD." But they turned into two feuding factions.
13 | [29:38] Line:3378 |
| ||
[YA]: (Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. [RK]:Similarly, 'Aad and Thamoud (were annihilated). This is made manifest to you through their ruins. The devil had adorned their works in their eyes, and had diverted them from the path, even though they had eyes.
14 | [38:13] Line:3983 |
| ||
[YA]: And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. [RK]:Also, Thamoud, the people of Lot, the dwellers of the Woods (of Midyan); those were the opponents.
15 | [40:31] Line:4164 |
| ||
[YA]: "Something like the fate of the People of Noah, the 'Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to his Servants. [RK]:"The opponents of Noah, and `Aad, Thamoud, and others who came after them. GOD does not wish any injustice for the people.
16 | [41:13] Line:4231 |

[YA]: But if they turn away, say thou: "I have warned you of a stunning Punishment (as of thunder and lightning) like that which (overtook) the 'Ad and the Thamud!" [RK]:If they turn away, then say, "I am warning you of a disaster like the disaster that annihilated `Aad and Thamoud."
17 | [41:17] Line:4235 |
| ||
[YA]: As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred blindness (of heart) to Guidance: so the stunning Punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned. [RK]:As for Thamoud, we provided them with guidance, but they preferred blindness over guidance. Consequently, the disastrous and shameful retribution annihilated them, because of what they earned.
18 | [50:12] Line:4642 |

[YA]: Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, [RK]:Disbelieving before them were the people of Noah, the dwellers of Russ, and Thamoud.

20 | [53:51] Line:4835 |

25 | [89:9] Line:6002 |
| ||
[YA]: And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- [RK]:Also Thamoud, who carved the rocks in their valley.
26 | [91:11] Line:6054 |
| ||
[YA]: The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, [RK]:Thamoud's disbelief caused them to transgress.
