وجعلنا بينهم وبين القري التي باركنا فيها قري ظاهرة وقدرنا فيها السير سيروا فيها ليالي واياما امنين

[YA]: Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings, We had placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them We had appointed stages of journey in due proportion: "Travel therein, secure, by night and by day."

[RK]:We placed between them and the communities that we blessed other oases, and we secured the journey between them: "Travel therein days and nights in complete security."

Waqala allatheena istudAAifoolillatheena istakbaroo bal makru allayli waalnnahariith ta/muroonana an nakfura biAllahiwanajAAala lahu andadan waasarroo alnnadamatalamma raawoo alAAathaba wajaAAalna al-aghlalafee aAAnaqi allatheena kafaroo hal yujzawna illama kanoo yaAAmaloona

وقال الذين استضعفوا للذين استكبروا بل مكر الليل والنهار اذ تامروننا ان نكفر بالله ونجعل له اندادا واسروا الندامة لما راوا العذاب وجعلنا الاغلال في اعناق الذين كفروا هل يجزون الا ماكانوا يعملون

[YA]: Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for their (ill) Deeds.

[RK]:The followers will say to their leaders, "It was you who schemed night and day, then commanded us to be unappreciative of GOD, and to set up idols to rank with Him." They will be ridden with remorse, when they see the retribution, for we will place shackles around the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they not justly requited for what they did?

Yooliju allayla fee alnnahariwayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsawaalqamara kullun yajree li-ajalin musamman thalikumuAllahu rabbukum lahu almulku waallatheenatadAAoona min doonihi ma yamlikoona min qitmeerin

يولج الليل في النهار ويولج النهار في الليل وسخر الشمس والقمر كل يجري لاجل مسمي ذلكم الله ربكم له الملك والذين تدعون من دونه مايملكون من قطمير

[YA]: He merges Night into Day, and he merges Day into Night, and he has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law): each one runs its course for a term appointed. Such is Allah your Lord: to Him belongs all Dominion. And those whom ye invoke besides Him have not the least power.

[RK]:He merges the night into the day, and merges the day into the night. He has committed the sun and the moon to run for a predetermined period of time. Such is GOD your Lord; to Him belongs all kingship. Any idols you set up beside Him do not possess as much as a seed's shell.

واية لهم الليل نسلخ منه النهار فاذا هم مظلمون

[YA]: And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness;

[RK]:Another sign for them is the night: we remove the daylight therefrom, whereupon they are in darkness.

لاالشمس ينبغي لها ان تدرك القمر و لا الهيل سابق النهار وكل في فلك يسبحون

[YA]: It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).

[RK]:The sun is never to catch up with the moon - the night and the day never deviate - each of them is floating in its own orbit.

[YA]: And by night: will ye not understand?

[RK]:And by night. Would you understand?

خلق السماوات والارض بالحق يكور الليل علي النهار ويكور النهار علي الليل وسخر الشمس والقمر كل يجري لاجل مسمي الا هو العزيز الغفار

[YA]: He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night: He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law): Each one follows a course for a time appointed. Is not He the Exalted in Power - He Who forgives again and again?

[RK]:He created the heavens and the earth truthfully. He rolls the night over the day, and rolls the day over the night. He committed the sun and the moon, each running for a finite period. Absolutely, He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.

امن هو قانت اناء الليل ساجدا وقائما يحذر الاخرة ويرجو رحمة ربه قل هل يستوي الذين يعلمون والذين لايعلمون انما يتذكر اولوا الالباب

[YA]: Is one who worships devoutly during the hour of the night prostrating himself or standing (in adoration), who takes heed of the Hereafter, and who places his hope in the Mercy of his Lord - (like one who does not)? Say: "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition.

[RK]:Is it not better to be one of those who meditate in the night, prostrating and staying up, being aware of the Hereafter, and seeking the mercy of their Lord? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.

الله الذي جعل لكم الليل لتسكنوا فيه والنهار مبصرا ان الله لذو فضل علي الناس ولكن اكثر الناس لايشكرون

[YA]: It is Allah Who has made the Night for you, that ye may rest therein, and the days as that which helps (you) to see. Verily Allah is full of Grace and Bounty to men: yet most men give no thanks.

[RK]:GOD is the One who designed the night so you can rest in it, and the day lighted. GOD bestows many blessings upon the people, but most people are not thankful.

Wamin ayatihi allaylu waalnnaharuwaalshshamsu waalqamaru la tasjudoo lilshshamsiwala lilqamari waosjudoo lillahi alatheekhalaqahunna in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona

ومن اياته الليل والنهار والشمس والقمر لاتسجدوا للشمس ولا للقمر واسجدوا لله الذي خلقهن ان كنتم اياه تعبدون

[YA]: Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and the moon, but prostrate to Allah, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve.

[RK]:Among His proofs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate before the sun, nor the moon; you shall fall prostrate before the GOD who created them, if you truly worship Him alone.

Fa-ini istakbaroo faallatheenaAAinda rabbika yusabbihoona lahu biallayli waalnnahariwahum la yas-amoona

فان استكبروا فالذين عند ربك يسبحون له بالليل والنهار وهم لايسامون

[YA]: But is the (Unbelievers) are arrogant, (no matter): for in the presence of thy Lord are those who celebrate His praises by night and by day. And they never flag (nor feel themselves above it).

[RK]:If they are too arrogant to do this, then those at your Lord glorify Him night and day, without ever tiring.

انا انزلناه في ليلة مباركة انا كنا منذرين

[YA]: We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil).

[RK]:We have sent it down in a blessed night, for we are to warn.

فاسر بعبادي ليلا انكم متبعون

[YA]: (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued.

[RK]:(God said,) "Travel with My servants during the night; you will be pursued.

واختلاف الليل والنهار وماانزل الله من السماء من رزق فاحيا به الارض بعد موتها وتصريف الرياح ايات لقوم يعقلون

[YA]: And in the alternation of Night and Day, and the fact that Allah sends down Sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds,- are Signs for those that are wise.

[RK]:Also, the alternation of the night and the day, and the provisions that GOD sends down from the sky to revive dead lands, and the manipulation of the winds; all these are proofs for people who understand.

ومن الليل فسبحه وادبار السجود

[YA]: And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration.

[RK]:During the night you shall meditate on His name, and after prostrating.

[YA]: They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night,

[RK]:Rarely did they sleep the whole night.

ومن الليل فسبحه وادبار النجوم

[YA]: And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars!

[RK]:Also during the night glorify Him, and at dawn as the stars fade away.

[YA]: He merges Night into Day, and He merges Day into Night; and He has full knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts.

[RK]:He merges the night into the day, and merges the day into the night. He is fully aware of the innermost thoughts.

رسولا يتلو عليكم ايات الله مبينات ليخرج الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات من الظلمات اليالنور ومن يؤمن بالله ويعمل صالحا يدخله جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار خالدين فيها ابدا قد احسن الله له رزقا

[YA]: An Messenger, who rehearses to you the Signs of Allah containing clear explanations, that he may lead forth those who believe and do righteous deeds from the depths of Darkness into Light. And those who believe in Allah and work righteousness, He will admit to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: Allah has indeed granted for them a most excellent Provision.

[RK]:a messenger who recites to you GOD's revelations, clearly, to lead those who believe and work righteousness out of the darkness into the light. Anyone who believes in GOD and leads a righteous life, He will admit him into gardens with flowing streams; they abide therein forever. GOD will generously reward him.

Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalinwathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fataraalqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazunakhlin khawiyatun

سخرها عليهم سبع ليال وثمانية ايام حسوما فتري القوم فيها صرعي كانهم اعجاز نخل خاوية

[YA]: He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

[RK]:He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, violently. You could see the people tossed around like decayed palm trunks.

قال رب اني دعوت قومي ليلا ونهارا

[YA]: He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:

[RK]:He said, "My Lord, I have invited my people night and day.

قم الليل الا قليلا

[YA]: Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,-

[RK]:Meditate during the night, except rarely.

ان ناشئة الليل هي اشد وطئا واقوم قيلا

[YA]: Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

[RK]:The meditation at night is more effective, and more righteous.

Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adnamin thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wata-ifatunmina allatheena maAAaka waAllahu yuqaddiruallayla waalnnahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohufataba AAalaykum faiqraoo ma tayassara minaalqur-ani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoonayadriboona fee al-ardi yabtaghoona min fadliAllahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeliAllahi faiqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemooalssalata waatoo alzzakatawaaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wamatuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahihuwa khayran waaAAthama ajran waistaghfirooAllaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

ان ربك يعلم انك تقوم ادني من ثلثي الليل ونصفه وثلثه وطائفة من الذين معك والله يقدر الليل والنهار علم ان لن تحصوه فتاب عليكم فاقرؤوا ماتيسر من القران علم ان سيكون منكم مرضي واخرون يضربون في الارض يبتغون من فضل الله واخرون يقاتلون في سبيل الله فاقرؤوا ماتيسر منه واقيموا الصلاة واتوا الزكاة واقرضوا الله قرضا حسنا وماتقدموا لانفسكم من خير تجدوه عند الله هو خيرا واعظم اجرا واستغفروا الله ان الله غفور رحيم

[YA]: Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[RK]:Your Lord knows that you meditate during two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it, and so do some of those who believed with you. GOD has designed the night and the day, and He knows that you cannot always do this. He has pardoned you. Instead, you shall read what you can of the Quran. He knows that some of you may be ill, others may be traveling in pursuit of GOD's provisions, and others may be striving in the cause of GOD. You shall read what you can of it, and observe the contact prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and lend GOD a loan of righteousness. Whatever good you send ahead on behalf of your souls, you will find it at GOD far better and generously rewarded. And implore GOD for forgiveness. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[YA]: And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?

[RK]:How awesome is the Night of Destiny!

ليلة القدر خير من الف شهر

[YA]: The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.

[RK]:The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.
