[YA]: We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment in speech and decision.

[RK]:We strengthened his kingship, and endowed him with wisdom and good logic.

[YA]: He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure).

[RK]:He said, "My Lord, forgive me, and grant me a kingship never attained by anyone else. You are the Grantor."

[YA]: He created you (all) from a single person: then created, of like nature, his mate; and he sent down for you eight head of cattle in pairs: He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness. such is Allah, your Lord and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) dominion. There is no god but He: then how are ye turned away (from your true Centre)?

[RK]:He created you from one person, then created from him his mate. He sent down to you eight kinds of livestock. He creates you in your mothers' bellies, creation after creation, in trimesters of darkness. Such is GOD your Lord. To Him belongs all sovereignty. There is no other god beside Him. How could you deviate?

Ami ittakhathoo min dooni AllahishufaAAaa qul awa law kanoo la yamlikoonashay-an wala yaAAqiloonaام اتخذوا من دون الله شفعاء قل اولو كانوا لايملكون شيئا ولايعقلون
[YA]: What! Do they take for intercessors others besides Allah? Say: "Even if they have no power whatever and no intelligence?"

[RK]:Have they invented intercessors to mediate between them and GOD? Say, "What if they do not possess any power, nor understanding?"

[YA]: Say: "To Allah belongs exclusively (the right to grant) intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: In the End, it is to Him that ye shall be brought back."

[RK]:Say, "All intercession belongs to GOD." To Him belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned.

[YA]: The Day whereon they will (all) come forth: not a single thing concerning them is hidden from Allah. Whose will be the dominion that Day?" That of Allah, the One the Irresistible!

[RK]:That is the day when everyone will be completely exposed; none of them will hide anything from GOD. To whom belongs all sovereignty on that day? To GOD, the One, the Supreme.

Ya qawmi lakumu almulku alyawma thahireenafee al-ardi faman yansuruna min ba/si Allahiin jaana qala firAAawnu ma oreekumilla ma ara wama ahdeekum illasabeela alrrashadiياقوم لكم الملك اليوم ظاهرين في الارض فمن ينصرنا من باس الله ان جاءنا قال فرعون مااريكم الا ما اري وما اهديكم الا سبيل الرشاد
[YA]: "O my People! Yours is the dominion this day: Ye have the upper hand in the land: but who will help us from the Punishment of Allah, should it befall us?" Pharaoh said: "I but point out to you that which I see (myself); Nor do I guide you but to the Path of Right!"

[RK]:"O my people, today you have kingship and the upperhand. But who will help us against GOD's judgment, should it come to us?" Pharaoh said, "You are to follow only what I see fit; I will guide you only in the right path."

[YA]: To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills (and plans). He bestows (children) male or female according to His Will (and Plan),

[RK]:To GOD belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wills, granting daughters to whomever He wills, and granting sons to whomever He wills.

[YA]: And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people, saying: "O my people! Does not the dominion of Egypt belong to me, (witness) these streams flowing underneath my (palace)? What! see ye not then?

[RK]:Pharaoh announced to his people, "O my people, do I not possess the kingship over Egypt, and these flowing rivers belong to me? Do you not see?

Watabaraka allathee lahu mulkualssamawati waal-ardi wamabaynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAatiwa-ilayhi turjaAAoonaوتبارك الذي له ملك السماوات والارض ومابينهما وعنده علم الساعة واليه ترجعون
[YA]: And blessed is He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all between them: with Him is the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment): and to Him shall ye be brought back.

[RK]:Most Exalted is the One who possesses all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. With Him is the knowledge about the Hour (end of the world), and to Him you will be returned.

Wala yamliku allatheenayadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illaman shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoonaولايملك الذين يدعون من دونه الشفاعة الا من شهد بالحق وهم يعلمون
[YA]: And those whom they invoke besides Allah have no power of intercession;- only he who bears witness to the Truth, and they know (him).

[RK]:None of those whom they idolize beside Him possess any power to intercede, unless their intercession coincides with the truth, and they fully know.

[YA]: To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the dealers in Falsehood perish!

[RK]:To GOD belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. The day the Hour (Judgment) comes to pass, that is when the falsifiers lose.

Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul iniiftaraytuhu fala tamlikoona lee mina Allahi shay-anhuwa aAAlamu bima tufeedoona feehi kafa bihishaheedan baynee wabaynakum wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemuام يقولون افتراه قل ان افتريته فلا تملكون لي من الله شيئا هو اعلم بما تفيضون فيه كفي به شهيدا بيني وبينكم وهو الغفور الرحيم
[YA]: Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say: "Had I forged it, then can ye obtain no single (blessing) for me from Allah. He knows best of that whereof ye talk (so glibly)! Enough is He for a witness between me and you! And he is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

[RK]:When they say, "He fabricated this," say, "If I fabricated this, then you cannot protect me from GOD. He is fully aware of everything you scheme. He suffices as a witness between me and you. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful."

Sayaqoolu laka almukhallafoona mina al-aAArabishaghalatna amwaluna waahloona faistaghfirlana yaqooloona bi-alsinatihim ma laysa feequloobihim qul faman yamliku lakum mina Allahi shay-an inarada bikum darran aw arada bikum nafAAanbal kana Allahu bima taAAmaloona khabeeranسيقول لك المخلفون من الاعراب شغلتنا اموالنا واهلونا فاستغفر لنا يقولون بالسنتهم ماليس في قلوبهم قل فمن يملكم من الله شيئا ان اراد بكم ضرا او اراد بكم نفعا بل كان الله بما تعملون خبيرا
[YA]: The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

[RK]:The sedentary Arabs who stay behind will say, "We have been preoccupied with our money and our families, so ask forgiveness for us!" They utter with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Who can protect you from GOD, if He willed any adversity for you, or if He willed any blessing for you?" GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

[YA]: To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[RK]:To GOD belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whomever He wills, and punishes whomever He wills. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[YA]: How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.

[RK]:Not even the angels in heaven possess authority to intercede. The only ones permitted by GOD are those who act in accordance with His will and His approval.

[YA]: To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things.

[RK]:To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. He controls life and death. He is Omnipotent.

[YA]: To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah.

[RK]:To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. All matters are controlled by GOD.

[YA]: Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.

[RK]:He is the One GOD; there is no other god beside Him. The King, the Most Sacred, the Peace, the Most Faithful, the Supreme, the Almighty, the Most Powerful, the Most Dignified. GOD be glorified; far above having partners.

Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatunfee ibraheema waallatheena maAAahu ithqaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimmataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabadabaynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu waalbaghdaoabadan hatta tu/minoo biAllahi wahdahuilla qawla ibraheema li-abeehi laastaghfiranna lakawama amliku laka mina Allahi min shay-in rabbanaAAalayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka almaseeruقد كانت لكم اسوة حسنة في ابراهيم والذين معه اذ قالوا لقومهم انا براؤا منكم ومما تعبدون من دون الله كفرنا بكم وبدا بيننا وبينكم العدواة والبغضاء ابدا حتي تؤمنوا بالله وحده الا قول ابراهيم لابيه لاستغفرن لك ومااملك لك من الله من شئ ربنا عليك توكلنا واليك انبنا واليك المصير
[YA]: There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal.

[RK]:A good example has been set for you by Abraham and those with him. They said to their people, "We disown you and the idols that you worship besides GOD. We denounce you, and you will see nothing from us except animosity and hatred until you believe in GOD ALONE." However, a mistake was committed by Abraham when he said to his father, "I will pray for your forgiveness, but I possess no power to protect you from GOD." "Our Lord, we trust in You, and submit to You; to You is the final destiny.

[YA]: Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

[RK]:Glorifying GOD is everything in the heavens and everything on earth; the King, the Most Sacred, the Almighty, the Most Wise.

[YA]: And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.

[RK]:The angels will be all around, and Your Lord's dominion will then encompass eight (universes).

[YA]: Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,

[RK]:(They have relations) only with their spouses, or what is legally theirs -

[YA]: Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct."

[RK]:Say, "I possess no power to harm you, nor to guide you."

[YA]: And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent.

[RK]:Wherever you look, you will see bliss, and a wonderful dominion.

[YA]: (From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.

[RK]:Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. The Most Gracious. No one can abrogate His decisions.

[YA]: (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.

[RK]:That is the day when no soul can help another soul, and all decisions, on that day, will belong to GOD.
