[YA]: And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; [RK]:Also, Ismail, Idris, Zal-Kifl; all were steadfast, patient.
52 | [21:112] Line:2595 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "O my Lord! judge Thou in truth!" "Our Lord Most Gracious is the One Whose assistance should be sought against the blasphemies ye utter!" [RK]:Say, "My Lord, Your judgment is the absolute justice. Our Lord is the Most Gracious; only His help is sought in the face of your claims."
53 | [22:21] Line:2616 |
| ||
[YA]: In addition there will be maces of iron (to punish) them. [RK]:They will be confined in iron pots.
54 | [22:36] Line:2631 |
| ||
[YA]: The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful. [RK]:The animal offerings are among the rites decreed by GOD for your own good. You shall mention GOD's name on them while they are standing in line. Once they are offered for sacrifice, you shall eat therefrom and feed the poor and the needy. This is why we subdued them for you, that you may show your appreciation.
55 | [22:47] Line:2642 |
| ||
[YA]: Yet they ask thee to hasten on the Punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning. [RK]:They challenge you to bring retribution, and GOD never fails to fulfill His prophecy. A day of your Lord is like a thousand of your years.
56 | [24:43] Line:2834 |
| ||
[YA]: Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? - then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight. [RK]:Do you not realize that GOD drives the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them on each other, then you see the rain coming out of them? He sends down from the sky loads of snow to cover whomever He wills, while diverting it from whomever He wills. The brightness of the snow almost blinds the eyes.
57 | [28:57] Line:3309 |
| ||
[YA]: They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we should be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary, to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds,- a provision from Ourselves? but most of them understand not. [RK]:They said, "If we follow your guidance, we will suffer persecution." Did we not establish for them a Sacred Sanctuary, to which all kinds of fruits are offered, as a provision from us? Indeed, most of them do not know.
58 | [32:16] Line:3519 |
| ||
[YA]: Their limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in Fear and Hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them. [RK]:Their sides readily forsake their beds, in order to worship their Lord, out of reverence and hope, and from our provisions to them, they give.
59 | [34:13] Line:3619 |
| ||
[YA]: They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places): "Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants are grateful!" [RK]:They made for him anything he wanted - niches, statues, deep pools, and heavy cooking pots. O family of David, work (righteousness) to show your appreciation. Only a few of My servants are appreciative.
60 | [37:125] Line:3913 |
| ||
[YA]: "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- [RK]:"Do you worship a statue, instead of the Supreme Creator?
61 | [38:16] Line:3986 |
| ||
[YA]: They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!" [RK]:They challenged: "Our Lord, why do you not rush the retribution for us, before the Day of Reckoning."
62 | [38:48] Line:4018 |
| ||
[YA]: And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. [RK]:Remember Ismail, Elisha, and Zal-Kifl; among the most righteous.

[YA]: And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. [RK]:Remember Ismail, Elisha, and Zal-Kifl; among the most righteous.
64 | [39:21] Line:4079 |
| ||
[YA]: Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and leads it through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow, therewith, produce of various colours: then it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then He makes it dry up and crumble away. Truly, in this, is a Message of remembrance to men of understanding. [RK]:Do you not see that GOD sends down from the sky water, then places it into underground wells, then produces with it plants of various colors, then they grow until they turn yellow, then He turns them into hay? This should be a reminder for those who possess intelligence.
65 | [39:69] Line:4127 |
| ||
[YA]: And the Earth will shine with the Glory of its Lord: the Record (of Deeds) will be placed (open); the prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward and a just decision pronounced between them; and they will not be wronged (in the least). [RK]:Then the earth will shine with the light of its Lord. The record will be proclaimed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought forth. Everyone will then be judged equitably, without the least injustice.
66 | [42:32] Line:4304 |
| ||
[YA]: And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. [RK]:Among His proofs are the ships that sail the sea with sails like flags.
67 | [43:36] Line:4361 |
| ||
[YA]: If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. [RK]:Anyone who disregards the message of the Most Gracious, we appoint a devil to be his constant companion.
68 | [48:29] Line:4612 |

[YA]: Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward. [RK]:Muhammad - the messenger of GOD - and those with him are harsh and stern against the disbelievers, but kind and compassionate amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, as they seek GOD's blessings and approval. Their marks are on their faces, because of prostrating. This is the same example as in the Torah. Their example in the Gospel is like plants that grow taller and stronger, and please the farmers. He thus enrages the disbelievers. GOD promises those among them who believe, and lead a righteous life, forgiveness and a great recompense.
69 | [54:12] Line:4858 |
| ||
[YA]: And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. [RK]:And we caused springs to gush out of the earth. The waters met to effect a predetermined decision.
70 | [54:31] Line:4877 |
| ||
[YA]: For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. [RK]:We sent upon them one blow, whereupon they became like harvested hay.
71 | [55:19] Line:4920 |
| ||
[YA]: He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: [RK]:He separates the two seas where they meet.
72 | [55:24] Line:4925 |
| ||
[YA]: And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: [RK]:He gave you ships that roam the sea like flags.
73 | [57:20] Line:5095 |

[YA]: Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception? [RK]:Know that this worldly life is no more than play and games, and boasting among you, and hoarding of money and children. It is like abundant rain that produces plants and pleases the disbelievers. But then the plants turn into useless hay, and are blown away by the wind. In the Hereafter there is either severe retribution, or forgiveness from GOD and approval. This worldly life is no more than a temporary illusion.
74 | [57:27] Line:5102 |
| ||
[YA]: Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors. [RK]:Subsequent to them, we sent our messengers. We sent Jesus the son of Mary, and we gave him the Injeel (Gospel), and we placed in the hearts of his followers kindness and mercy. But they invented hermitism which we never decreed for them. All we asked them to do was to uphold the commandments approved by GOD. But they did not uphold the message as they should have. Consequently, we gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked.
75 | [63:5] Line:5193 |
| ||
[YA]: And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray for your forgiveness", they turn aside their heads, and thou wouldst see them turning away their faces in arrogance. [RK]:When they are told, "Come let the messenger of GOD pray for your forgiveness," they mockingly turn their heads, and you see them repel others and act arrogantly.
76 | [68:13] Line:5284 |
| ||
[YA]: Violent (and cruel),- with all that, base-born,- [RK]:Unappreciative, and greedy.
77 | [69:12] Line:5335 |
| ||
[YA]: That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. [RK]:We rendered it a lesson for you, that any listening ear may understand.
78 | [71:23] Line:5442 |
| ||
[YA]: "And they have said (to each other), 'Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', neither Yaguth nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr';- [RK]:"They said, `Do not abandon your gods. Do not abandon Wadd, Suwaa`, Yaghouth, Ya`ooq, and Nasr.'
79 | [76:10] Line:5601 |
| ||
[YA]: "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." [RK]:"We fear from our Lord a day that is full of misery and trouble."
80 | [76:17] Line:5608 |
| ||
[YA]: And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- [RK]:They enjoy drinks of delicious flavors.
81 | [79:34] Line:5746 |
| ||
[YA]: Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- [RK]:Then, when the great blow comes.
82 | [80:33] Line:5791 |
| ||
[YA]: At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- [RK]:Then, when the blow comes to pass.
83 | [89:23] Line:6016 |
| ||
[YA]: And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? [RK]:On that day, Gehenna will be brought forth. On that day, the human being will remember - but what a remembrance - it will be too late.
84 | [93:2] Line:6081 |
| ||
[YA]: And by the Night when it is still,- [RK]:By the night as it falls.
