[RK]:These (letters) constitute proofs of this book of wisdom.

[YA]: To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise.

[RK]:Eternally they abide therein. This is the truthful promise of GOD. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

Walaqad atayna luqmanaalhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun hameedunولقد اتينا لقمان الحكمة ان اشكر لله ومن يشكر فانما يشكر لنفسه ومن كفر فان الله غني حميد
[YA]: we bestowed (in the past) Wisdom on Luqman: "Show (thy) gratitude to Allah." Any who is (so) grateful does so to the profit of his own soul: but if any is ungrateful, verily Allah is free of all wants, Worthy of all praise.

[RK]:We have endowed Luqmaan with wisdom: "You shall be appreciative of GOD." Whoever is appreciative is appreciative for his own good. As for those who turn unappreciative, GOD is in no need, Praiseworthy.

Walaw annama fee al-ardi minshajaratin aqlamun waalbahru yamudduhu minbaAAdihi sabAAatu abhurin ma nafidat kalimatuAllahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemunولو ان ما في الارض من شجرة اقلام والبحر يمده من بعده سبعة ابحر مانفدت كلمات الله ان الله عزيز حكيم
[YA]: And if all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply), yet would not the words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

[RK]:If all the trees on earth were made into pens, and the ocean supplied the ink, augmented by seven more oceans, the words of GOD would not run out. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyuittaqi Allaha wala tutiAAi alkafireenawaalmunafiqeena inna Allaha kanaAAaleeman hakeemanياايها النبي اتق الله ولاتطع الكافرين والمنافقين ان الله كان عليما حكيما
[YA]: O Prophet! Fear Allah, and hearken not to the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites: verily Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

[RK]:O you prophet, you shall reverence GOD and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[YA]: And recite what is rehearsed to you in your homes, of the Signs of Allah and His Wisdom: for Allah understands the finest mysteries and is well-acquainted (with them).

[RK]:Remember what is being recited in your homes of GOD's revelations and the wisdom inherent therein. GOD is Sublime, Cognizant.

Alhamdu lillahi allatheelahu ma fee alssamawati wamafee al-ardi walahu alhamdu fee al-akhiratiwahuwa alhakeemu alkhabeeruالحمد لله الذي له مافي السماوات ومافي الارض وله الحمد في الاخرة وهو الحكيم الخبير
[YA]: Praise be to Allah, to Whom belong all things in the heavens and on earth: to Him be Praise in the Hereafter: and He is Full of Wisdom, acquainted with all things.

[RK]:Praise be to GOD - to whom belongs everything in the heavens and the earth; all praise is also due to Him in the Hereafter. He is the Most Wise, the Cognizant.

[YA]: Say: "Show me those whom ye have joined with Him as partners: by no means (can ye). Nay, He is Allah, the Exalted in Power, the Wise."

[RK]:Say, "Show me the idols you have set up as partners with Him!" Say, "No; He is the one GOD, the Almighty, Most Wise."

Ma yaftahi Allahu lilnnasimin rahmatin fala mumsika laha wamayumsik fala mursila lahu min baAAdihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemuمايفتح الله للناس من رحمة فلا ممسك لها ومايمسك فلا مرسل له من بعده وهو العزيز الحكيم
[YA]: What Allah out of his Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold, there is none can grant, apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

[RK]:When GOD showers the people with mercy, no force can stop it. And if He withholds it, no force, other than He, can send it. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

[YA]: By the Qur'an, full of Wisdom,-

[RK]:And the Quran that is full of wisdom.

[YA]: We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment in speech and decision.

[RK]:We strengthened his kingship, and endowed him with wisdom and good logic.

Ith dakhaloo AAala dawoodafafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmanibagha baAAduna AAala baAAdinfaohkum baynana bialhaqqi walatushtit waihdina ila sawa-ialssiratiاذ دخلوا علي داؤود ففزع منهم قالوا لاتخف خصمان بغي بعضنا علي بعض فاحكم بيننا بالحق ولاتشطط واهدنا الي سواء الصراط
[YA]: When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path..

[RK]:When they entered his room, he was startled. They said, "Have no fear. We are feuding with one another, and we are seeking your fair judgment. Do not wrong us, and guide us in the right path.

Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnakakhaleefatan fee al-ardi faohkum bayna alnnasibialhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillakaAAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloonaAAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bimanasoo yawma alhisabiياداؤود انا جعلنك خليفة في الارض فاحكم بين الناس بالحق ولاتتبع الهوي فيضلك عن سبيل الله ان الذين يضلون عن سبيل الله لهم عذاب شديد بما نسوا يوم الحساب
[YA]: O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.

[RK]:O David, we have made you a ruler on earth. Therefore, you shall judge among the people equitably, and do not follow your personal opinion, lest it diverts you from the way of GOD. Surely, those who stray off the way of GOD incur severe retribution for forgetting the Day of Reckoning.

[YA]: The revelation of this Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

[RK]:This is a revelation of the scripture, from GOD, the Almighty, the Wise.

Ala lillahi alddeenualkhalisu waallatheena ittakhathoomin doonihi awliyaa ma naAAbuduhum illaliyuqarriboona ila Allahi zulfa innaAllaha yahkumu baynahum fee ma hum feehiyakhtalifoona inna Allaha la yahdee man huwa kathibunkaffarunالا لله الدين الخالص والذين اتخذوا من دونه اولياء مانعبدهم الا ليقربونا الي الله زلفي ان الله يحكم بينهم في ماهم فيه يختلفون ان الله لايهدي من هو كاذب كفار
[YA]: Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful.

[RK]:Absolutely, the religion shall be devoted to GOD alone. Those who set up idols beside Him say, "We idolize them only to bring us closer to GOD; for they are in a better position!" GOD will judge them regarding their disputes. GOD does not guide such liars, disbelievers.

[YA]: Say: "O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open! it is Thou that wilt judge between Thy Servants in those matters about which they have differed."

[RK]:Proclaim: "Our god, Initiator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of all secrets and declarations, You are the only One who judges among Your servants regarding their disputes."

Rabbana waadkhilhum jannatiAAadnin allatee waAAadtahum waman salaha min aba-ihimwaazwajihim wathurriyyatihim innaka antaalAAazeezu alhakeemuربنا وادخلهم جنات عدن التي وعدتهم ومن صلح من ابائهم وازواجهم وذرياتهم انك انت العزيز الحكيم
[YA]: "And grant, our Lord! that they enter the Gardens of Eternity, which Thou hast promised to them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their posterity! For Thou art (He), the Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom.

[RK]:"Our Lord, and admit them into the gardens of Eden that You promised for them and for the righteous among their parents, spouses, and children. You are the Almighty, Most Wise.

Thalikum bi-annahu ithaduAAiya Allahu wahdahu kafartum wa-in yushrak bihitu/minoo faalhukmu lillahi alAAaliyyialkabeeriذلكم بانه اذا دعي الله وحده كفرتم وان يشرك به تؤمنوا فالحكم لله العلي الكبير
[YA]: (The answer will be:) "This is because, when Allah was invoked as the Only (object of worship), ye did reject Faith, but when partners were joined to Him, ye believed! the Command is with Allah, Most High, Most Great!"

[RK]:This is because when GOD ALONE was advocated, you disbelieved, but when others were mentioned beside Him, you believed. Therefore, GOD's judgment has been issued; He is the Most High, the Great.

Qala allatheena istakbaroo innakullun feeha inna Allaha qad hakama baynaalAAibadiقال الذين استكبروا انا كل فيها ان الله قد حكم بين العباد
[YA]: Those who had been arrogant will say: "We are all in this (Fire)! Truly, Allah has judged between (his) Servants!"

[RK]:The leaders will say, "We are all in this together. GOD has judged among the people."

La ya/teehi albatilu min bayniyadayhi wala min khalfihi tanzeelun min hakeemin hameedinلاياتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولامن خلفه تنزيل من حكيم حميد
[YA]: No falsehood can approach it from before or behind it: It is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all Praise.

[RK]:No falsehood could enter it, in the past or in the future; a revelation from a Most Wise, Praiseworthy.

Kathalika yoohee ilayka wa-ilaallatheena min qablika Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemuكذلك يوحي اليك والي الذين من قبلك الله العزيز الحكيم
[YA]: Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee,- Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.

[RK]:Inspiring you, and those before you, is GOD, the Almighty, Most Wise.

Wama ikhtalaftum feehi min shay-in fahukmuhuila Allahi thalikumu Allahu rabbeeAAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneebuومااختلفتم فيه من شئ فحكمه الي الله ذلكم الله ربي عليه توكلت واليه انيب
[YA]: Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.

[RK]:If you dispute any part of this message, the judgment for doing this rests with GOD. Such is GOD my Lord. In Him I trust, and to Him I submit.

Wama kana libasharin anyukallimahu Allahu illa wahyan aw min wara-ihijabin aw yursila rasoolan fayoohiya bi-ithnihima yashao innahu AAaliyyun hakeemunوماكان لبشر ان يكلمه الله الا وحيا او من وراء حجاب او يرسل رسولا فيوحي باذنه مايشاء انه علي حكيم
[YA]: It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah's permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise.

[RK]:No human being can communicate with GOD except through inspiration, or from behind a barrier, or by sending a messenger through whom He reveals what He wills. He is the Most High, Most Wise.

Wa-innahu fee ommi alkitabi ladaynalaAAaliyyun hakeemunوانه في ام الكتاب لدينا لعلي حكيم
[YA]: And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom.

[RK]:It is preserved with us in the original master, honorable and full of wisdom.

[YA]: When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me.

[RK]:When Jesus went with the proofs, he said, "I bring to you wisdom, and to clarify some of the matters in which you dispute. You shall reverence GOD and obey me.

[YA]: It is He Who is Allah in heaven and Allah on earth; and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge.

[RK]:He is the only One who is a deity in the heaven and a deity on earth. He is the Most Wise, the Omniscient.

[YA]: In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom,

[RK]:In it (the scripture), every matter of wisdom is clarified.

[YA]: We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book the Power of Command, and Prophethood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favoured them above the nations.

[RK]:We have given the Children of Israel the scripture, wisdom, and prophethood, and provided them with good provisions; we bestowed upon them more blessings than any other people.

Am hasiba allatheena ijtarahooalssayyi-ati an najAAalahum kaallatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati sawaanmahyahum wamamatuhum saa ma yahkumoonaام حسب الذين اجترحوا السيئات ان نجعلهم كالذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات سواء محياهم ومماتهم ساء مايحكمون
[YA]: What! Do those who seek after evil ways think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds,- that equal will be their life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make.

[RK]:Do those who work evil expect that we will treat them in the same manner as those who believe and lead a righteous life? Can their life and their death be the same? Wrong indeed is their judgment.

[YA]: To Him be glory throughout the heavens and the earth: and He is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom!

[RK]:To Him belongs all supremacy in the heavens and the earth. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

Wayaqoolu allatheena amanoolawla nuzzilat sooratun fa-itha onzilat sooratun muhkamatunwathukira feeha alqitalu raayta allatheenafee quloobihim maradun yanthuroona ilayka natharaalmaghshiyyi AAalayhi mina almawti faawla lahumويقول الذين امنوا لولا نزلت سورة فاذا انزلت سورة محكمة وذكر فيها القتال رايت الذين في قلوبهم مرض ينظرون اليك نظر المغشي عليه من الموت فاولي لهم
[YA]: Those who believe say, "Why is not a sura sent down (for us)?" But when a sura of basic or categorical meaning is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein, thou wilt see those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with a look of one in swoon at the approach of death. But more fitting for them-

[RK]:Those who believed said: "When will a new sura be revealed?" But when a straightforward sura was revealed, wherein fighting was mentioned, you would see those who harbored doubts in their hearts looking at you, as if death had already come to them. They were thus exposed.

Huwa allathee anzala alssakeenatafee quloobi almu/mineena liyazdadoo eemanan maAAaeemanihim walillahi junoodu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeemanهو الذي انزل السكينة في قلوب المؤمنين ليزدادوا ايمانا مع ايمانهم ولله جنود السماوات والارض وكان الله عليما حكيما
[YA]: It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the Believers, that they may add faith to their faith;- for to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;-

[RK]:He is the One who places contentment into the hearts of believers to augment more faith, in addition to their faith. To GOD belongs all forces of the heavens and the earth. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

Walillahi junoodu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wakana Allahu AAazeezan hakeemanولله جنود السماوات والارض وكان الله عزيزا حكيما
[YA]: For to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.

[RK]:To GOD belongs all the forces in the heavens and the earth. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

[YA]: And many gains will they acquire (besides): and Allah is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.

[RK]:Additionally, they gained many spoils. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

[YA]: A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

[RK]:Such is grace from GOD and His blessings. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[YA]: They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge."

[RK]:They said, "Thus said your Lord. He is the Most Wise, the Omniscient."

[YA]: Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth,

[RK]:You shall steadfastly persevere in carrying out your Lord's command - you are in our eyes - and glorify and praise your Lord when you get up.

[YA]: Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not.

[RK]:Great wisdom; but all the warnings have been in vain.

[RK]:Glorifying GOD is everything in the heavens and the earth. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

[RK]:Glorifying GOD is everything in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

[YA]: He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

[RK]:He is the One GOD; the Creator, the Initiator, the Designer. To Him belong the most beautiful names. Glorifying Him is everything in the heavens and the earth. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

[YA]: "Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

[RK]:"Our Lord, let us not be oppressed by those who disbelieved, and forgive us. You are the Almighty, Most Wise."

[YA]: O ye who believe! When there come to you believing women refugees, examine (and test) them: Allah knows best as to their Faith: if ye ascertain that they are Believers, then send them not back to the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) for the Unbelievers, nor are the (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) for them. But pay the Unbelievers what they have spent (on their dower), and there will be no blame on you if ye marry them on payment of their dower to them. But hold not to the guardianship of unbelieving women: ask for what ye have spent on their dowers, and let the (Unbelievers) ask for what they have spent (on the dowers of women who come over to you). Such is the command of Allah: He judges (with justice) between you. And Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

[RK]:O you who believe, when believing women (abandon the enemy and) ask for asylum with you, you shall test them. GOD is fully aware of their belief. Once you establish that they are believers, you shall not return them to the disbelievers. They are not lawful to remain married to them, nor shall the disbelievers be allowed to marry them. Give back the dowries that the disbelievers have paid. You commit no error by marrying them, so long as you pay them their due dowries. Do not keep disbelieving wives (if they wish to join the enemy). You may ask them for the dowry you had paid, and they may ask for what they paid. This is GOD's rule; He rules among you. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.
