[YA]: "So we desired that their Lord would give them in exchange (a son) better in purity (of conduct) and closer in affection.

[RK]:"We willed that your Lord substitute in his place another son; one who is better in righteousness and kindness.

[YA]: "As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure - a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. I did it not of my own accord. Such is the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience."

[RK]:"As for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city. Under it, there was a treasure that belonged to them. Because their father was a righteous man, your Lord wanted them to grow up and attain full strength, then extract their treasure. Such is mercy from your Lord. I did none of that of my own volition. This is the explanation of the things you could not stand."

[YA]: He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true."

[RK]:He said, "This is mercy from my Lord. When the prophecy of my Lord comes to pass, He will cause the dam to crumble. The prophecy of my Lord is truth."

[RK]:She said, "I seek refuge in the Most Gracious, that you may be righteous."

[YA]: He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It is a matter (so) decreed."

[RK]:He said, "Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me. We will render him a sign for the people, and mercy from us. This is a predestined matter.' "

[YA]: "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'"

[RK]:"Eat and drink, and be happy. When you see anyone, say, `I have made a vow of silence; I am not talking today to anyone.' "

[YA]: "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against (Allah) Most Gracious.

[RK]:"O my father, do not worship the devil. The devil has rebelled against the Most Gracious.

[YA]: "O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."

[RK]:"O my father, I fear lest you incur retribution from the Most Gracious, then become an ally of the devil."

[YA]: And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth.

[RK]:We showered them with our mercy, and we granted them an honorable position in history.

[YA]: And, out of Our Mercy, We gave him his brother Aaron, (also) a prophet.

[RK]:And we granted him, out of our mercy, his brother Aaron as a prophet.

Ola-ika allatheena anAAama AllahuAAalayhim mina alnnabiyyeena min thurriyyati adamawamimman hamalna maAAa noohin wamin thurriyyatiibraheema wa-isra-eela wamimman hadayna waijtabaynaitha tutla AAalayhim ayatu alrrahmanikharroo sujjadan wabukiyyanاولئك الذين انعم الله عليهم من النبيين من ذرية ادم وممن حملنا مع نوح ومن ذرية ابراهيم واسرائيل وممن هدينا واجتبينا اذا تتلي عليهم ايات الرحمن خروا سجدا وبكيا
[YA]: Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.

[RK]:These are some of the prophets whom GOD blessed. They were chosen from among the descendants of Adam, and the descendants of those whom we carried with Noah, and the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and from among those whom we guided and selected. When the revelations of the Most Gracious are recited to them, they fall prostrate, weeping.

Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada alrrahmanuAAibadahu bialghaybi innahu kana waAAduhuma/tiyyanجنات عدن التي وعد الرحمن عباده بالغيب انه كان وعده ماتيا
[YA]: Gardens of Eternity, those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass.

[RK]:The gardens of Eden await them, as promised by the Most Gracious for those who worship Him, even in privacy. Certainly, His promise must come to pass.

Thumma lananziAAanna min kulli sheeAAatinayyuhum ashaddu AAala alrrahmaniAAitiyyanثم لننزعن من كل شيعة ايهم اشد علي الرحمن عتيا
[YA]: Then shall We certainly drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against (Allah) Most Gracious.

[RK]:Then we will pick out from each group the most ardent opponent of the Most Gracious.

Qul man kana fee alddalalatifalyamdud lahu alrrahmanu maddan hattaitha raaw ma yooAAadoona imma alAAathabawa-imma alssaAAata fasayaAAlamoona man huwasharrun makanan waadAAafu jundanقل من كان في الضلالة فليمدد له الرحمن مدا حتي اذا راوا مايوعدون اما العذاب واما الساعة فسيعلمون من هو شر مكانا واضعف جندا
[YA]: Say: "If any men go astray, (Allah) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces!

[RK]:Say, "Those who choose to go astray, the Most Gracious will lead them on, until they see what is promised for them - either the retribution or the Hour. That is when they find out who really is worse off, and weaker in power."

[YA]: Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with (Allah) Most Gracious?

[RK]:Has he seen the future? Has he taken such a pledge from the Most Gracious?

[YA]: The day We shall gather the righteous to (Allah) Most Gracious, like a band presented before a king for honours,

[RK]:The day will come when we summon the righteous before the Most Gracious in a group.

[YA]: None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from (Allah) Most Gracious.

[RK]:No one will possess the power to intercede, except those who conform to the laws of the Most Gracious.

[YA]: They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"

[RK]:They said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son"!

[YA]: That they should invoke a son for (Allah) Most Gracious.

[RK]:Because they claim that the Most Gracious has begotten a son.

[YA]: For it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.

[RK]:It is not befitting the Most Gracious that He should beget a son.

[YA]: Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant.

[RK]:Every single one in the heavens and the earth is a servant of the Most Gracious.

[YA]: On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love.

[RK]:Surely, those who believe and lead a righteous life, the Most Gracious will shower them with love.

[YA]: Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command."

[RK]:And Aaron had told them, "O my people, this is a test for you. Your only Lord is the Most Gracious, so follow me, and obey my commands."

Yawma-ithin yattabiAAoona alddaAAiyala AAiwaja lahu wakhashaAAati al-aswatu lilrrahmanifala tasmaAAu illa hamsanيومئذ يتبعون الداعي لاعوج له وخشعت الاصوات للرحمن فلاتسمع الا همسا
[YA]: On that Day will they follow the Caller (straight): no crookedness (can they show) him: all sounds shall humble themselves in the Presence of (Allah) Most Gracious: nothing shalt thou hear but the tramp of their feet (as they march).

[RK]:On that day, everyone will follow the caller, without the slightest deviation. All sounds will be hushed before the Most Gracious; you will hear nothing but whispers.

Yawma-ithin la tanfaAAu alshshafaAAatuilla man athina lahu alrrahmanuwaradiya lahu qawlanيومئذ لاتنفع الشفاعة الا من اذن له الرحمن ورضي له قولا
[YA]: On that Day shall no intercession avail except for those for whom permission has been granted by (Allah) Most Gracious and whose word is acceptable to Him.

[RK]:On that day, intercession will be useless, except for those permitted by the Most Gracious, and whose utterances conform to His will.

Waqaloo ittakhatha alrrahmanuwaladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoonaوقالوا اتخذ الرحمن ولدا سبحانه بل عباد مكرمون
[YA]: And they say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten offspring." Glory to Him! they are (but) servants raised to honour.

[RK]:Yet, they said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son!" Glory be to Him. All (messengers) are (His) honored servants.

Wa-itha raaka allatheenakafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahathaallathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikrialrrahmani hum kafiroonaواذا راك الذين كفروا ان يتخذونك الا هزوا اهذا الذي يذكر الهتكم وهم بذكر الرحمن هم كافرون
[YA]: When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious!

[RK]:When those who disbelieve see you, they ridicule you: "Is this the one who challenges your gods?" Meanwhile, they remain totally heedless of the message from the Most Gracious.

Qul man yaklaokum biallayli waalnnaharimina alrrahmani bal hum AAan thikrirabbihim muAAridoonaقل من يكلؤكم بالليل والنهار من الرحمن بل هم عن ذكر ربهم معرضون
[YA]: Say: "Who can keep you safe by night and by day from (the Wrath of) (Allah) Most Gracious?" Yet they turn away from the mention of their Lord.

[RK]:Say, "Who can protect you from the Most Gracious during the night or during the day?" Indeed, they are totally oblivious to the message of their Lord.

[YA]: And We admitted him to Our Mercy: for he was one of the Righteous.

[RK]:And Job implored his Lord: "Adversity has befallen me, and, of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful."

[YA]: So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us.

[RK]:We responded to him, relieved his adversity, and restored his family for him, even twice as much. That was a mercy from us, and a reminder for the worshipers.

[YA]: Say: "O my Lord! judge Thou in truth!" "Our Lord Most Gracious is the One Whose assistance should be sought against the blasphemies ye utter!"

[RK]:Say, "My Lord, Your judgment is the absolute justice. Our Lord is the Most Gracious; only His help is sought in the face of your claims."

[YA]: Seest thou not that Allah has made subject to you (men) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His Command? He withholds the sky (rain) from failing on the earth except by His leave: for Allah is Most Kind and Most Merciful to man.

[RK]:Do you not see that GOD has committed in your service everything on earth? The ships run in the ocean by His command. He prevents the heavenly bodies from crashing onto the earth, except in accordance with His command. GOD is Most Kind towards the people, Most Merciful.

Walaw rahimnahum wakashafnama bihim min durrin lalajjoo fee tughyanihimyaAAmahoonaولو رحمناهم وكشفنا مابهم من ضر للجوا في طغيانهم يعمهون
[YA]: If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro.

[RK]:Even when we showered them with mercy, and relieved their problems, they plunged deeper into transgression, and continued to blunder.

[RK]:"A group of My servants used to say, `Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and shower us with mercy. Of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful.'

[RK]:If it were not for GOD's grace towards you, and His mercy in this world and in the Hereafter, you would have suffered a great retribution because of this incident.

[YA]: O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and knows (all things).

[RK]:O you who believe, do not follow the steps of Satan. Anyone who follows the steps of Satan should know that he advocates evil and vice. If it were not for GOD's grace towards you, and His mercy, none of you would have been purified. But GOD purifies whomever He wills. GOD is Hearer, Knower.

Wala ya/tali oloo alfadliminkum waalssaAAati an yu/too olee alqurba waalmasakeenawaalmuhajireena fee sabeeli AllahiwalyaAAfoo walyasfahoo ala tuhibboonaan yaghfira Allahu lakum waAllahu ghafoorunraheemunولاياتل اولوا الفضل منكم والسعة ان يؤتوا اولي القربي والمساكين والمهاجرين في سبيل الله وليعفوا وليصفحوا الا تحبون ان يغفر الله لكم والله غفور رحيم
[YA]: Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in Allah's cause: let them forgive and overlook, do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[RK]:Those among you who are blessed with resources and wealth shall be charitable towards their relatives, the poor, and those who have immigrated for the sake of GOD. They shall treat them with kindness and tolerance; do you not love to attain GOD's forgiveness? GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
