[YA]: Say: "No reward do I ask of you: it is (all) in your interest: my reward is only due from Allah: And He is witness to all things."

[RK]:Say, "I do not ask you for any wage; you can keep it. My wage comes only from GOD. He witnesses all things."

Qul inna rabbee yaqthifu bialhaqqiAAallamu alghuyoobiقل ان ربي يقذف بالحق علام الغيوب
[YA]: Say: "Verily my Lord doth cast the (mantle of) Truth (over His servants),- He that has full knowledge of (all) that is hidden."

[RK]:Say, "My Lord causes the truth to prevail. He is the Knower of all secrets."

Qul jaa alhaqqu wamayubdi-o albatilu wama yuAAeeduقل جاء الحق ومايبدي الباطل ومايعيد
[YA]: Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything."

[RK]:Say, "The truth has come; while falsehood can neither initiate anything, nor repeat it."

Qul in dalaltu fa-innama adilluAAala nafsee wa-ini ihtadaytu fabima yooheeilayya rabbee innahu sameeAAun qareebunقل ان ضللت فانما اضل علي نفسي وان اهتديت فبما يوحي الي ربي انه سميع قريب
[YA]: Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near."

[RK]:Say, "If I go astray, I go astray because of my own shortcomings. And if I am guided, it is because of my Lord's inspiration. He is Hearer, Near."

Waqaloo amanna bihiwaanna lahumu alttanawushu min makaninbaAAeedinوقالوا امنا به واني لهم التناوش من مكان بعيد
[YA]: And they will say, "We do believe (now) in the (Truth)"; but how could they receive (Faith) from a position (so far off,-

[RK]:They will then say, "We now believe in it," but it will be far too late.

Waqaloo alhamdu lillahiallathee athhaba AAanna alhazana innarabbana laghafoorun shakoorunوقالوا الحمد لله الذي اذهب عنا الحزن ان ربنا لغفور شكور
[YA]: And they will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service):

[RK]:They will say, "Praise GOD for removing all our worries. Our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative.

Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheenatadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoomina al-ardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawatiam ataynahum kitaban fahum AAalabayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoonabaAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooranقل ارايتم شركاءكم الذين تدعون من دون الله اروني ماذا خلقوا من الارض ام لهم شرك في السماوات ام اتيناهم كتابا فهم علي بينة منه بل ان يعد الظالمون بعضهم بعضا الا غرورا
[YA]: Say: "Have ye seen (these) 'Partners' of yours whom ye call upon besides Allah? Show Me what it is they have created in the (wide) earth. Or have they a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- Nay, the wrong-doers promise each other nothing but delusions.

[RK]:Say, "Consider the idols you have set up beside GOD; show me what on earth have they created." Do they own any partnership in the heavens? Have we given them a book wherein there is no doubt? Indeed, what the transgressors promise one another is no more than an illusion.

Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAalaaktharihim fahum la yu/minoonaلقد حق القول علي اكثرهم فهم لايؤمنون
[YA]: The Word is proved true against the greater part of them: for they do not believe.

[RK]:It has been predetermined that most of them do not believe.

Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnaynifakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithinfaqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloonaاذ ارسلنا اليهم اثنين فكذبوهما فعززنا بثالث فقالوا انا اليكم مرسلون
[YA]: When We (first) sent to them two messengers, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you."

[RK]:When we sent to them two (messengers), they disbelieved them. We then supported them by a third. They said, "We are (God's) messengers to you."

Qaloo ma antum illabasharun mithluna wama anzala alrrahmanumin shay-in in antum illa takthiboonaقالوا ماانتم الا بشر مثلنا وماانزل الرحمن من شئ ان انتم الا تكذبون
[YA]: The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (Allah) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie."

[RK]:They said, "You are no more than human beings like us. The Most Gracious did not send down anything. You are liars."

Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu innailaykum lamursaloonaقالوا ربنا يعلم انا اليكم لمرسلون
[YA]: They said: "Our Lord doth know that we have been sent on a mission to you:

[RK]:They said, "Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you.

Qaloo inna tatayyarnabikum la-in lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnaAAathabun aleemunقالوا انا تطيرنا بكم لئن لم تنتهوا لنرجمنكم وليمسكنم منا عذاب اليم
[YA]: The (people) said: "for us, we augur an evil omen from you: if ye desist not, we will certainly stone you. And a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us."

[RK]:They said, "We consider you bad omens. Unless you refrain, we will surely stone you, or afflict you with painful retribution."

Qaloo ta-irukum maAAakum a-in thukkirtumbal antum qawmun musrifoonaقالوا طائركم معكم ائن ذكرتم بل انتم قوم مسرفون
[YA]: They said: "Your evil omens are with yourselves: (deem ye this an evil omen). If ye are admonished? Nay, but ye are a people transgressing all bounds!"

[RK]:They said, "Your omen depends on your response, now that you have been reminded. Indeed, you are transgressing people."

Wajaa min aqsa almadeenatirajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAooalmursaleenaوجاء من اقصا المدينة رجل يسعي قال ياقوم اتبعوا المرسلين
[YA]: Then there came running, from the farthest part of the City, a man, saying, "O my people! Obey the messengers:

[RK]:A man came from the other end of the city, saying, "O my people, follow the messengers.

Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala yalayta qawmee yaAAlamoonaقيل ادخل الجنة قال ياليت قومي يعلمون
[YA]: It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!-

[RK]:(At the time of his death) he was told, "Enter Paradise." He said, "Oh, I wish my people knew.

Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala yalayta qawmee yaAAlamoonaقيل ادخل الجنة قال ياليت قومي يعلمون
[YA]: It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!-

[RK]:(At the time of his death) he was told, "Enter Paradise." He said, "Oh, I wish my people knew.

Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittaqoo mabayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoonaواذا قيل لهم اتقوا مابين ايديكم وماخلفكم لعلكم ترحمون
[YA]: When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back).

[RK]:Yet, when they are told, "Learn from your past, to work righteousness for your future, that you may attain mercy,"

Wa-itha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimmarazaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroolillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashaoAllahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalinmubeeninواذا قيل لهم انفقوا مما رزقكم الله قال الذين كفروا للذين امنوا انطعم من لو يشاء الله اطعمه ان انتم الا في ضلال مبين
[YA]: And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)?- Ye are in nothing but manifest error."

[RK]:When they are told, "Give from GOD's provisions to you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Why should we give to those whom GOD could feed, if He so willed? You are really far astray."

Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeenaويقولون متي هذا الوعد ان كنتم صادقين
[YA]: Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?"

[RK]:They also challenge, "When will that promise come to pass, if you are truthful?"

Qaloo ya waylana manbaAAathana min marqadina hatha mawaAAada alrrahmanu wasadaqaalmursaloonaقالوا ياويلنا من بعثنا من مرقدنا هذا ماوعد الرحمن وصدق المرسلون
[YA]: They will say: "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say:) "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the messengers!"

[RK]:They will say, "Woe to us. Who resurrected us from our death? This is what the Most Gracious has promised. The messengers were right."

[YA]: "Peace!" - a word (of salutation) from a Lord Most Merciful!

[RK]:Greetings of peace from a Most Merciful Lord.

Liyunthira man kana hayyanwayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireenaلينذر من كان حيا ويحق القول علي الكافرين
[YA]: That it may give admonition to any (who are) alive, and that the charge may be proved against those who reject (Truth).

[RK]:To preach to those who are alive, and to expose the disbelievers.

Fala yahzunka qawluhum innanaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoonaفلا يحزنك قولهم انا نعلم مايسرون ومايعلنون
[YA]: Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they disclose.

[RK]:Therefore, do not be saddened by their utterances. We are fully aware of everything they conceal and everything they declare.

Wadaraba lana mathalanwanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithamawahiya rameemunوضرب لنا مثلا ونسي خلقه قال من يحيي العظام وهي رميم
[YA]: And he makes comparisons for Us, and forgets his own (origin and) Creation: He says, "Who can give life to (dry) bones and decomposed ones (at that)?"

[RK]:He raises a question to us - while forgetting his initial creation - "Who can resurrect the bones after they had rotted?"

Qul yuhyeeha allatheeanshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleemunقل يحييها الذي انشاها اول مرة وهو بكل خلق عليم
[YA]: Say, "He will give them life Who created them for the first time! for He is Well-versed in every kind of creation!-

[RK]:Say, "The One who initiated them in the first place will resurrect them. He is fully aware of every creation."

Innama amruhu itha aradashay-an an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoonuانما امره اذا اراد شيئا ان يقول له كن فيكون
[YA]: Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is!

[RK]:All He needs to do to carry out any command is to say to it, "Be," and it is.

Waqaloo in hatha illasihrun mubeenunوقالوا ان هذا الا سحر مبين
[YA]: And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery!

[RK]:They say, "This is obviously magic!

Qul naAAam waantum dakhiroonaقل نعم وانتم داخرون
[YA]: Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)."

[RK]:Say, "Yes, you will be forcibly summoned."

Waqaloo ya waylana hathayawmu alddeeniوقالوا ياويلنا هذا يوم الدين
[YA]: They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!"

[RK]:They will say, "Woe to us; this is the Day of Judgment."

Qaloo innakum kuntum ta/toonanaAAani alyameeniقالوا انكم كنتم تاتوننا عن اليمين
[YA]: They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!"

[RK]:They will say (to their leaders), "You used to come to us from the right side."

Qaloo bal lam takoonoo mu/mineenaقالوا بل لم تكونوا مؤمنين
[YA]: They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith!

[RK]:They will respond, "It is you who were not believers.

Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbinainna latha-iqoonaفحق علينا قول ربنا انا لذائقون
[YA]: "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins).

[RK]:"We justly incurred our Lord's judgment; now we have to suffer.

Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahumla ilaha illa Allahu yastakbiroonaانهم كانوا اذا قيل لهم لا اله الا الله يستكبرون
[YA]: For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride,

[RK]:," they turned arrogant.

Wayaqooloona a-inna latarikoo alihatinalishaAAirin majnooninويقولون ائنا لتاركوا الهتنا لشاعر مجنون
[YA]: And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"

[RK]:They said, "Shall we leave our gods for the sake of a crazy poet?"

Qala qa-ilun minhum innee kanalee qareenunقال قائل منهم اني كان لي قرين
[YA]: One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth),

[RK]:One of them will say, "I used to have a friend.

[YA]: "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)?

[RK]:"He used to mock: `Do you believe all this?

Qala hal antum muttaliAAoonaقال هل انتم مطلعون
[YA]: (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?"

[RK]:He will say, "Just take a look!"

[YA]: He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition!

[RK]:He (will go to him and) say, "By GOD, you almost ruined me.

Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mathataAAbudoonaاذ قال لابيه وقومه ماذا تعبدون
[YA]: Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship?

[RK]:He said to his father and his people, "What are you worshipping?

[YA]: And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"

[RK]:Then he gave up and said, "I am tired of this!"

Faragha ila alihatihimfaqala ala ta/kuloonaفراغ الي الهتهم فقال الا تاكلون
[YA]: Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?...

[RK]:He then turned on their idols, saying, "Would you like to eat?

[YA]: He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?

[RK]:He said, "How can you worship what you carve?

Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyananfaalqoohu fee aljaheemiقالوا ابنوا له بنيانا فالقوه في الجحيم
[YA]: They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!"

[RK]:They said, "Let us build a great fire, and throw him into it."

Waqala innee thahibun ilarabbee sayahdeeniوقال اني ذاهب الي ربي سيهدين
[YA]: He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!

[RK]:He said, "I am going to my Lord; He will guide me."

Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAyaqala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanamiannee athbahuka faonthur mathatara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/marusatajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireenaفلما بلغ معه السعي قال يابني اني اري في المنام اني اذبحك فانظر ماذا تري قال ياابت افعل ماتؤمر ستجدني ان شاء الله من الصابرين
[YA]: Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"

[RK]:When he grew enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you. What do you think?" He said, "O my father, do what you are commanded to do. You will find me, GOD willing, patient."

Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAyaqala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanamiannee athbahuka faonthur mathatara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/marusatajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireenaفلما بلغ معه السعي قال يابني اني اري في المنام اني اذبحك فانظر ماذا تري قال ياابت افعل ماتؤمر ستجدني ان شاء الله من الصابرين
[YA]: Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"

[YA]: Is it not that they say, from their own invention,

[RK]:Indeed, they grossly blaspheme when they say -
