[YA]: (Respite will be granted) until, when the messengers give up hope (of their people) and (come to) think that they were treated as liars, there reaches them Our help, and those whom We will are delivered into safety. But never will be warded off our punishment from those who are in sin. [RK]:Just when the messengers despair, and think that they had been rejected, our victory comes to them. We then save whomever we choose, while our retribution for the guilty people is unavoidable.
202 | [13:13] Line:1720 |

[YA]: Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will..yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)! [RK]:The thunder praises His glory, and so do the angels, out of reverence for Him. He sends the lightning bolts, which strike in accordance with His will. Yet, they argue about GOD, though His power is awesome.
203 | [13:30] Line:1737 |

[YA]: Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!" [RK]:We have sent you (O Rashad) to this community, just as we did for other communities in the past. You shall recite to them what we reveal to you, for they have disbelieved in the Most Gracious. Say, "He is my Lord. There is no god except He. I put my trust in Him alone; to Him is my ultimate destiny."
204 | [13:32] Line:1739 |
| ||
[YA]: Mocked were (many) messengers before thee: but I granted respite to the unbelievers, and finally I punished them: Then how (terrible) was my requital! [RK]:Messengers before you have been ridiculed; I permitted the disbelievers to carry on, then I punished them. How terrible was My retribution!
205 | [13:38] Line:1745 |

[YA]: We did send messengers before thee, and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of a messenger to bring a sign except as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed). [RK]:We have sent messengers before you (O Rashad), and we made them husbands with wives and children. No messenger can produce a miracle without GOD's authorization, and in accordance with a specific, predetermined time.

[YA]: The Unbelievers say: "No messenger art thou." Say: "Enough for a witness between me and you is Allah, and such as have knowledge of the Book." [RK]:Those who disbelieved will say, "You are not a messenger!" Say, "GOD suffices as a witness between me and you, and those who possess knowledge of the scripture."
209 | [14:4] Line:1754 |

[YA]: We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. [RK]:We did not send any messenger except (to preach) in the tongue of his people, in order to clarify things for them. GOD then sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. He is the Almighty, the Most Wise.

[YA]: We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative. [RK]:Thus, we sent Moses with our miracles, saying, "Lead your people out of darkness into the light, and remind them of the days of GOD." These are lessons for every steadfast, appreciative person.
212 | [14:9] Line:1759 |

[YA]: Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us." [RK]:Have you not heard about those before you - the people of Noah, `Aad, Thamoud, and others who came after them and known only to GOD? Their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they treated them with contempt and said, "We disbelieve in what you are sent with. We are skeptical about your message; full of doubt."

214 | [14:10] Line:1760 |
| ||
[YA]: Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority." [RK]:Their messengers said, "Do you have doubts about GOD; the Initiator of the heavens and the earth? He invites you only to forgive your sins, and to give you another chance to redeem yourselves." They said, "You are no more than humans like us, who want to repel us from the way our parents used to worship. Show us some profound authority."
215 | [14:11] Line:1761 |
| ||
[YA]: Their messengers said to them: "True, we are human like yourselves, but Allah doth grant His grace to such of his servants as He pleases. It is not for us to bring you an authority except as Allah permits. And on Allah let all men of faith put their trust. [RK]:Their messengers said to them, "We are no more than humans like you, but GOD blesses whomever He chooses from among His servants. We could not possibly show you any kind of authorization, except in accordance with GOD's will. In GOD the believers shall trust.
216 | [14:13] Line:1763 |
| ||
[YA]: And the Unbelievers said to their messengers: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! [RK]:Those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will banish you from our land, unless you revert to our religion." Their Lord inspired them: "We will inevitably annihilate the transgressors.
217 | [14:44] Line:1794 |
| ||
[YA]: So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline? [RK]:You shall warn the people of the day when the retribution comes to them. Those who transgressed will say, "Our Lord, give us one more respite. We will then respond to Your call and follow the messengers." Did you not swear in the past that you will last forever?
218 | [14:47] Line:1797 |
| ||
[YA]: Never think that Allah would fail his messengers in His promise: for Allah is Exalted in power, - the Lord of Retribution. [RK]:Do not think that GOD will ever break His promise to His messengers. GOD is Almighty, Avenger.
219 | [15:10] Line:1812 |
| ||
[YA]: We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old: [RK]:We have sent (messengers) before you to the communities in the past.
220 | [15:11] Line:1813 |
| ||
[YA]: But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him. [RK]:Every time a messenger went to them, they ridiculed him.
221 | [15:22] Line:1824 |
| ||
[YA]: And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores. [RK]:And we send the winds as pollinators, and cause water to come down from the sky for you to drink. Otherwise, you could not keep it palatable.
222 | [15:57] Line:1859 |
| ||
[YA]: Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?" [RK]:He said, "What is your mission, O messengers?"
223 | [15:58] Line:1860 |
| ||
[YA]: They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, [RK]:They said, "We are being dispatched to guilty people.
224 | [15:61] Line:1863 |
| ||
[YA]: At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, [RK]:The messengers went to Lot's town.
225 | [15:80] Line:1882 |
| ||
[YA]: The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: [RK]:The people of Al-Hijr disbelieved the messengers.
226 | [16:35] Line:1936 |
| ||
[YA]: The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message? [RK]:The idol worshipers say, "Had GOD willed, we would not worship any idols besides Him, nor would our parents. Nor would we prohibit anything besides His prohibitions." Those before them have done the same. Can the messengers do anything but deliver the complete message?
227 | [16:36] Line:1937 |
| ||
[YA]: For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth). [RK]:We have sent a messenger to every community, saying, "You shall worship GOD, and avoid idolatry." Subsequently, some were guided by GOD, while others were committed to straying. Roam the earth and note the consequences for the rejectors.
228 | [16:43] Line:1944 |
| ||
[YA]: And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. [RK]:We did not send before you except men whom we inspired. Ask those who know the scripture, if you do not know.
229 | [16:63] Line:1964 |
| ||
[YA]: By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty. [RK]:By GOD, we have sent (messengers) to communities before you, but the devil adorned their works in their eyes. Consequently, he is now their lord, and they have incurred a painful retribution.
230 | [16:113] Line:2014 |
| ||
[YA]: And there came to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they falsely rejected him; so the Wrath seized them even in the midst of their iniquities. [RK]:A messenger had gone to them from among them, but they rejected him. Consequently, the retribution struck them for their transgression.
231 | [17:15] Line:2044 |
| ||
[YA]: Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another: nor would We visit with Our Wrath until We had sent an messenger (to give warning). [RK]:Whoever is guided, is guided for his own good, and whoever goes astray does so to his own detriment. No sinner will bear the sins of anyone else. We never punish without first sending a messenger.
232 | [17:54] Line:2083 |
| ||
[YA]: It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a disposer of their affairs for them. [RK]:Your Lord knows you best. According to His knowledge, He may shower you with mercy, or He may requite you. We did not send you to be their advocate.
233 | [17:59] Line:2088 |
| ||
[YA]: And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil). [RK]:What stopped us from sending the miracles is that the previous generations have rejected them. For example, we showed Thamoud the camel, a profound (miracle), but they transgressed against it. We sent the miracles only to instill reverence.
234 | [17:59] Line:2088 |

235 | [17:68] Line:2097 |

[YA]: Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you? [RK]:Have you guaranteed that He will not cause the land, on shore, to swallow you? Or, that He will not send upon you a tempest, then you find no protector?
236 | [17:69] Line:2098 |
| ||
[YA]: Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper. Therein against Us? [RK]:Have you guaranteed that He will not return you to the sea another time, then send upon you a storm that drowns you because of your disbelief? Once this happens, we will not give you another chance.
237 | [17:77] Line:2106 |
| ||
[YA]: (This was Our) way with the messengers We sent before thee: thou wilt find no change in Our ways. [RK]:This has been consistently the case with all the messengers that we sent before you, and you will find that our system never changes.
238 | [17:77] Line:2106 |

239 | [17:93] Line:2122 |
| ||
[YA]: "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" [RK]:"Or unless you own a luxurious mansion, or unless you climb into the sky. Even if you do climb, we will not believe unless you bring a book that we can read." Say, "Glory be to my Lord. Am I any more than a human messenger?"
240 | [17:94] Line:2123 |
| ||
[YA]: What kept men back from belief when Guidance came to them, was nothing but this: they said, "Has Allah sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger?" [RK]:What prevented the people from believing when the guidance came to them is their saying, "Did GOD send a human being as a messenger?"
241 | [17:95] Line:2124 |
| ||
[YA]: Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for a messenger." [RK]:Say, "If the earth were inhabited by angels, we would have sent down to them from the sky an angel messenger."
242 | [17:105] Line:2134 |
| ||
[YA]: We sent down the (Qur'an) in Truth, and in Truth has it descended: and We sent thee but to give Glad Tidings and to warn (sinners). [RK]:Truthfully, we sent it down, and with the truth it came down. We did not send you except as a bearer of good news, as well as a warner.
243 | [18:40] Line:2180 |
| ||
[YA]: "It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!- [RK]:"My Lord may grant me better than your garden. He may send a violent storm from the sky that wipes out your garden, leaving it completely barren.
244 | [18:56] Line:2196 |
| ||
[YA]: We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned! [RK]:We only send the messengers as simply deliverers of good news, as well as warners. Those who disbelieve argue with falsehood to defeat the truth, and they take My proofs and warnings in vain.
245 | [18:56] Line:2196 |

246 | [18:106] Line:2246 |
| ||
[YA]: That is their reward, Hell, because they rejected Faith, and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest. [RK]:Their just requital is Hell, in return for their disbelief, and for mocking My revelations and My messengers.
247 | [19:17] Line:2267 |
| ||
[YA]: She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects. [RK]:While a barrier separated her from them, we sent to her our Spirit. He went to her in the form of a human being.
248 | [19:19] Line:2269 |
| ||
[YA]: He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son. [RK]:He said, "I am the messenger of your Lord, to grant you a pure son."
249 | [19:51] Line:2301 |
| ||
[YA]: Also mention in the Book (the story of) Moses: for he was specially chosen, and he was a messenger (and) a prophet. [RK]:Mention in the scripture Moses. He was devoted, and he was a messenger prophet.
250 | [19:54] Line:2304 |
| ||
[YA]: Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma'il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised, and he was a messenger (and) a prophet. [RK]:And mention in the scripture Ismail. He was truthful when he made a promise, and he was a messenger prophet.
