[RK]:Say, "He is the Most Gracious; we believe in Him, and we trust in Him. You will surely find out who is really far astray." | ||||

[YA]: And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character. [RK]:You are blessed with a great moral character. | ||||

[YA]: When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, "Tales of the ancients", he cries! [RK]:When our revelations are recited to him, he says, "Tales from the past!" | ||||

[YA]: Soon shall We brand (the beast) on the snout! [RK]:We will mark his face. | ||||

[YA]: Then there came on the (garden) a visitation from thy Lord, (which swept away) all around, while they were asleep. [RK]:A passing (storm) from your Lord passed by it while they were asleep. | ||||

[YA]: "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if ye would gather the fruits." [RK]:"Let us harvest the crop." | ||||

[YA]: "Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day." [RK]:That from then on, none of them would be poor. | ||||

[YA]: And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve. [RK]:They were so absolutely sure of their harvest. | ||||

[YA]: Then they turned, one against another, in reproach. [RK]:They started to blame each other. | ||||

[YA]: Or have ye Covenants with Us to oath, reaching to the Day of Judgment, (providing) that ye shall have whatever ye shall demand? [RK]:Or, have you received solemn assurances from us that grant you whatever you wish on the Day of Resurrection? | ||||

[YA]: He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! [RK]:He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, violently. You could see the people tossed around like decayed palm trunks. | ||||

[YA]: And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. [RK]:The angels will be all around, and Your Lord's dominion will then encompass eight (universes). | ||||

[YA]: In a Garden on high, [RK]:In an exalted Paradise. | ||||

[YA]: "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! [RK]:Nor did he advocate the feeding of the poor. | ||||

[YA]: And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name, [RK]:Had he uttered any other teachings. | ||||

[YA]: But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers. [RK]:It is but sorrow for the disbelievers. | ||||

[YA]: Those who remain steadfast to their prayer; [RK]:Who always observe their contact prayers (Salat). | ||||

[YA]: Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed, [RK]:(They have relations) only with their spouses, or what is legally theirs - | ||||

[YA]: And those who guard (the sacredness) of their worship;- [RK]:They consistently observe their contact prayers (Salat) on time. | ||||

[YA]: Substitute for them better (men) than they; And We are not to be defeated (in Our Plan). [RK]:to substitute better people in your place; we can never be defeated. | ||||

[YA]: "'He will send rain to you in abundance; [RK]:" `He will then shower you generously with rain. | ||||

[YA]: And Noah, said: "O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth! [RK]:Noah also said, "My Lord, do not leave a single disbeliever on earth. | ||||

[YA]: 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; [RK]:" `It is the foolish among us who used to utter such nonsense about GOD. | ||||

[YA]: 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. [RK]:" `We thought that neither the humans, nor the jinns, could possibly utter lies about GOD. | ||||

[YA]: (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. [RK]:If they remain on the right path, we will bless them with abundant water. | ||||

[YA]: "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." [RK]:When GOD's servant advocated Him alone, almost all of them banded together to oppose him. | ||||

[YA]: "He (alone) knows the Unseen, nor does He make any one acquainted with His Mysteries,- [RK]:He is the Knower of the future; He does not reveal the future to anyone. | ||||

[YA]: Or a little more; and recite the Qur'an in slow, measured rhythmic tones. [RK]:Or a little more. And read the Quran from cover to cover. | ||||

[YA]: Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message. [RK]:We will give you a heavy message. | ||||

[YA]: And have patience with what they say, and leave them with noble (dignity). [RK]:And remain steadfast in the face of their utterances, and disregard them in a nice manner. | ||||

[YA]: We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh. [RK]:We have sent to you a messenger, just as we sent to Pharaoh a messenger. | ||||

[YA]: Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [RK]:Your Lord knows that you meditate during two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it, and so do some of those who believed with you. GOD has designed the night and the day, and He knows that you cannot always do this. He has pardoned you. Instead, you shall read what you can of the Quran. He knows that some of you may be ill, others may be traveling in pursuit of GOD's provisions, and others may be striving in the cause of GOD. You shall read what you can of it, and observe the contact prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and lend GOD a loan of righteousness. Whatever good you send ahead on behalf of your souls, you will find it at GOD far better and generously rewarded. And implore GOD for forgiveness. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. | ||||

[YA]: Far from easy for those without Faith. [RK]:For the disbelievers, not easy. | ||||

[YA]: Has not He, (the same), the power to give life to the dead? [RK]:Is He then unable to revive the dead? | ||||

[YA]: Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? [RK]:Is it not a fact that there was a time when the human being was nothing to be mentioned? | ||||

[YA]: And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- [RK]:They donate their favorite food to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. | ||||

[YA]: Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. [RK]:They relax therein on luxurious furnishings. They suffer neither the heat of the sun, nor any cold. | ||||

[YA]: And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. [RK]:The shade covers them therein, and the fruits are brought within reach. | ||||

[YA]: And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- [RK]:They are served drinks in silver containers and cups that are translucent. | ||||

[YA]: And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. [RK]:Serving them will be immortal servants. When you see them, they will look like scattered pearls. | ||||

[YA]: Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. [RK]:On them will be clothes of green velvet, satin, and silver ornaments. Their Lord will provide them with pure drinks. | ||||
