Waanzalna mina alssama-imaan biqadarin faaskannahu fee al-ardiwa-inna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona

وانزلنا من السماء ماء بقدر فاسكناه في الارض وانا علي ذهاب به لقادرون

[YA]: And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease).

[RK]:We send down from the sky water, in exact measure, then we store it in the ground. Certainly, we can let it escape.

وانا علي ان نريك مانعدهم لقادرون

[YA]: And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned.

[RK]:To show you (the retribution) we have reserved for them is something we can easily do.

WaAllahu khalaqa kulla dabbatinmin ma-in faminhum man yamshee AAala batnihiwaminhum man yamshee AAala rijlayni waminhum man yamsheeAAala arbaAAin yakhluqu Allahu ma yashaoinna Allaha AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun

والله خلق كل دابة من ماء فمنهم من يمشي علي بطنه ومنهم من يمشي علي رجلين ومنهم من يمشي علي اربع يخلق الله مايشاء ان الله علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: And Allah has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills for verily Allah has power over all things.

[RK]:And GOD created every living creature from water. Some of them walk on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. GOD creates whatever He wills. GOD is Omnipotent.

Allathee lahu mulku alssamawatiwaal-ardi walam yattakhith waladan walamyakun lahu shareekun fee almulki wakhalaqa kulla shay-infaqaddarahu taqdeeran

الذي له ملك السماوات والارض ولم يتخذ ولدا ولم يكن له شريك في الملك وخلق كل شئ فقدره تقديرا

[YA]: He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: no son has He begotten, nor has He a partner in His dominion: it is He who created all things, and ordered them in due proportions.

[RK]:The One to whom belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He never had a son, nor does He have any partners in sovereignty. He created everything in exact measure; He precisely designed everything.

الذي له ملك السماوات والارض ولم يتخذ ولدا ولم يكن له شريك في الملك وخلق كل شئ فقدره تقديرا

Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina alma-ibasharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakanarabbuka qadeeran

وهو الذي خلق من الماء بشرا فجعله نسبا وصهرا وكان ربك قديرا

[YA]: It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things).

[RK]:He is the One who created from water a human being, then made him reproduce through marriage and mating. Your Lord is Omnipotent.

Faanjaynahu waahlahu illaimraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireena

فانجيناه واهله الا امراته قدرناها من الغابرين

[YA]: But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind.

[RK]:Consequently, we saved him and his family, except his wife; we counted her among the doomed.

Waasbaha allatheenatamannaw makanahu bial-amsi yaqooloona waykaannaAllaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashaomin AAibadihi wayaqdiru lawla an manna AllahuAAalayna lakhasafa bina waykaannahu la yuflihualkafiroona

واصبح الذين تمنوا مكانه بالامس يقولون ويكان الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء من عباده ويقدر لولا ان من الله علينا لخسف بنا ويكانه لايفلح الكافرون

[YA]: And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."

[RK]:Those who were envious of him the day before said, "Now we realize that GOD is the One who provides for whomever He chooses from among His servants, and withholds. If it were not for GOD's grace towards us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us too. We now realize that the disbelievers never succeed."

Qul seeroo fee al-ardi faonthurookayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshi-o alnnash-ataal-akhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shay-inqadeerun

قل سيروا في الارض فانظروا كيف بدا الخلق ثم الله ينشئ النشاة الاخرة ان الله علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

[RK]:Say, "Roam the earth and find out the origin of life." For GOD will thus initiate the creation in the Hereafter. GOD is Omnipotent.

Allahu yabsutu alrrizqaliman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allahabikulli shay-in AAaleemun

الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء من عباده ويقدر له ان الله بكل شئ عليم

[YA]: Allah enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure, (as He pleases): for Allah has full knowledge of all things.

[RK]:GOD is the One who increases the provision for whomever He chooses from among His creatures, and withholds it. GOD is fully aware of all things.

Awa lam yaraw anna Allaha yabsutualrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalikalaayatin liqawmin yu/minoona

اولم يروا ان الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر ان في ذلك لايات لقوم يؤمنون

[YA]: See they not that Allah enlarges the provision and restricts it, to whomsoever He pleases? Verily in that are Signs for those who believe.

[RK]:Do they not realize that GOD increases the provision for whomever He wills, or reduces it? These should be lessons for people who believe.

Faonthur ila atharirahmati Allahi kayfa yuhyee al-ardabaAAda mawtiha inna thalika lamuhyee almawtawahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun

فانظر الي اثار رحمة الله كيف يحيي الارض بعد موتها ان ذلك لمحيي الموتي وهو علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: Then contemplate (O man!) the memorials of Allah's Mercy!- how He gives life to the earth after its death: verily the same will give life to the men who are dead: for He has power over all things.

[RK]:You shall appreciate GOD's continuous mercy, and how He revives the land that has been dead. He will just as certainly resurrect the dead. He is Omnipotent.

Allahu allathee khalaqakum mindaAAfin thumma jaAAala min baAAdi daAAfin quwwatanthumma jaAAala min baAAdi quwwatin daAAfan washaybatanyakhluqu ma yashao wahuwa alAAaleemu alqadeeru

الله الذي خلقكم من ضعف ثم جعل من بعد ضعف قوة ثم جعل من بعد قوة ضعفا وشيبة يخلق مايشاء وهو العليم القدير

[YA]: It is Allah Who created you in a state of (helpless) weakness, then gave (you) strength after weakness, then, after strength, gave (you weakness and a hoary head: He creates as He wills, and it is He Who has all knowledge and power.

[RK]:GOD is the One who created you weak, then granted you after the weakness strength, then substituted after the strength weakness and gray hair. He creates whatever He wills. He is the Omniscient, the Omnipotent.

Yudabbiru al-amra mina alssama-iila al-ardi thumma yaAAruju ilayhi fee yawmin kanamiqdaruhu alfa sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

يدبر الامر من السماء الي الارض ثم يعرج اليه في يوم كان مقداره الف سنة مما تعدون

[YA]: He rules (all) affairs from the heavens to the earth: in the end will (all affairs) go up to Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be (as) a thousand years of your reckoning.

[RK]:All matters are controlled by Him from the heaven to the earth. To Him, the day is equivalent to one thousand of your years.

Waawrathakum ardahum wadiyarahumwaamwalahum waardan lam tataooha wakanaAllahu AAala kulli shay-in qadeeran

واورثكم ارضهم وديارهم واموالهم وارضا لم تطؤوها وكان الله علي كل شئ قديرا

[YA]: And He made you heirs of their lands, their houses, and their goods, and of a land which ye had not frequented (before). And Allah has power over all things.

[RK]:He made you inherit their land, their homes, their money, and lands you had never stepped on. GOD is in full control of all things.

Ma kana AAala alnnabiyyimin harajin feema farada Allahu lahusunnata Allahi fee allatheena khalaw min qablu wakanaamru Allahi qadaran maqdooran

ماكان علي النبي من حرج فيما فرض الله له سنة الله في الذين خلوا من قبل وكان امر الله قدرا مقدورا

[YA]: There can be no difficulty to the Prophet in what Allah has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of Allah amongst those of old that have passed away. And the command of Allah is a decree determined.

[RK]:The prophet is not committing an error by doing anything that is made lawful by GOD. Such is GOD's system since the early generations. GOD's command is a sacred duty.

ماكان علي النبي من حرج فيما فرض الله له سنة الله في الذين خلوا من قبل وكان امر الله قدرا مقدورا

Ani iAAmal sabighatin waqaddirfee alssardi waiAAmaloo salihan inneebima taAAmaloona baseerun

ان اعمل سابغات وقدر في السرد واعملوا صالحا اني بما تعملون بصير

[YA]: (Commanding), "Make thou coast of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armour, and work ye righteousness; for be sure I see (clearly) all that ye do."

[RK]:"You may make shields that fit perfectly, and work righteousness. Whatever you do, I am Seer thereof."

YaAAmaloona lahu ma yashao minmahareeba watamatheela wajifanin kaaljawabiwaqudoorin rasiyatin iAAmaloo ala dawoodashukran waqaleelun min AAibadiya alshshakooru

يعملون له مايشاء من محاريب وتماثيل وجفان كالجواب وقدور راسيات اعملوا ال داود شكرا وقليل من عبادي الشكور

[YA]: They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places): "Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants are grateful!"

[RK]:They made for him anything he wanted - niches, statues, deep pools, and heavy cooking pots. O family of David, work (righteousness) to show your appreciation. Only a few of My servants are appreciative.

WajaAAalna baynahum wabayna alquraallatee barakna feeha quran thahiratanwaqaddarna feeha alssayra seeroo feehalayaliya waayyaman amineena

وجعلنا بينهم وبين القري التي باركنا فيها قري ظاهرة وقدرنا فيها السير سيروا فيها ليالي واياما امنين

[YA]: Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings, We had placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them We had appointed stages of journey in due proportion: "Travel therein, secure, by night and by day."

[RK]:We placed between them and the communities that we blessed other oases, and we secured the journey between them: "Travel therein days and nights in complete security."

Qul inna rabbee yabsutu alrrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru walakinna akthara alnnasila yaAAlamoona

قل ان ربي يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر ولكن اكثر الناس لايعلمون

[YA]: Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Provision to whom He pleases, but most men understand not."

[RK]:Say, "My Lord is the One who controls all provisions; He grants the provisions to whomever He wills, or reduces them, but most people do not know."

Qul inna rabbee yabsutu alrrizqaliman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu wamaanfaqtum min shay-in fahuwa yukhlifuhu wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena

قل ان ربي يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء من عباده ويقدر له وماانفقتم من شئ فهو يخلفه وهو خير الرازقين

[YA]: Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Sustenance to such of his servants as He pleases: and nothing do ye spend in the least (in His cause) but He replaces it: for He is the Best of those who grant Sustenance.

[RK]:Say, "My Lord is the One who controls all provisions; He increases the provisions for whomever He chooses from among His servants, or reduces them. Anything you spend (in the cause of God), He will reward you for it; He is the Best Provider."

Alhamdu lillahi fatiri alssamawatiwaal-ardi jaAAili almala-ikatirusulan olee ajnihatin mathna wathulathawarubaAAa yazeedu fee alkhalqi ma yashaoinna Allaha AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun

الحمد لله فاطر السماوات والارض جاعل الملائكة رسلا اولي اجنحة مثني وثلاث ورباع يزيد في الخلق مايشاء ان الله علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things.

[RK]:Praise be to GOD, Initiator of the heavens and the earth, and appointer of the angels to be messengers with wings - two, three, and four (wings). He increases the creation as He wills. GOD is Omnipotent.

Awa lam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihimwakanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan wama kanaAllahu liyuAAjizahu min shay-in fee alssamawatiwala fee al-ardi innahu kana AAaleemanqadeeran

اولم يسيروا في الارض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم وكانوا اشد منهم قوة وماكان الله ليعجزه من شئ في السماوات ولا في الارض انه كان عليما قديرا

[YA]: Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them,- though they were superior to them in strength? Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on earth: for He is All-Knowing. All-Powerful.

[RK]:Have they not roamed the earth and noted the consequences for those who preceded them? They were even stronger than they. Nothing can be hidden from GOD in the heavens, nor on earth. He is Omniscient, Omnipotent.

Waalshshamsu tajree limustaqarrin lahathalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemi

والشمس تجري لمستقر لها ذلك تقدير العزيز العليم

[YA]: And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing.

[RK]:The sun sets into a specific location, according to the design of the Almighty, the Omniscient.

Waalqamara qaddarnahu manazilahatta AAada kaalAAurjooni alqadeemi

والقمر قدرناه منازل حتي عاد كالعرجون القديم

[YA]: And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk.

[RK]:The moon we designed to appear in stages, until it becomes like an old curved sheath.

Awa laysa allathee khalaqa alssamawatiwaal-arda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqamithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu

اوليس الذي خلق السماوات والارض بقادر علي ان يخلق مثلهم بلي وهو الخلاق العليم

[YA]: "Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like thereof?" - Yea, indeed! for He is the Creator Supreme, of skill and knowledge (infinite)!

[RK]:Is not the One who created the heavens and the earth able to recreate the same? Yes indeed; He is the Creator, the Omniscient.

اولم يعلموا ان الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر ان في ذلك لايات لقوم يؤمنون

[YA]: Know they not that Allah enlarges the provision or restricts it, for any He pleases? Verily, in this are Signs for those who believe!

[RK]:Do they not realize that GOD is the One who increases the provision for whomever He chooses, and withholds? These are lessons for people who believe.

Wama qadaroo Allaha haqqaqadrihi waal-ardu jameeAAan qabdatuhu yawmaalqiyamati waalssamawatu matwiyyatunbiyameenihi subhanahu wataAAala AAammayushrikoona

وما قدروا الله حق قدره والارض جميعا قبضته يوم القيامة والسماوات مطويات بيمينه سبحانه وتعالي عما يشركون

[YA]: No just estimate have they made of Allah, such as is due to Him: On the Day of Judgment the whole of the earth will be but His handful, and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand: Glory to Him! High is He above the Partners they attribute to Him!

[RK]:They can never fathom the greatness of GOD. The whole earth is within His fist on the Day of Resurrection. In fact, the universes are folded within His right hand. Be He glorified; He is much too high above needing any partners.

Wama qadaroo Allaha haqqaqadrihi waal-ardu jameeAAan qabdatuhu yawmaalqiyamati waalssamawatu matwiyyatunbiyameenihi subhanahu wataAAala AAammayushrikoona

وما قدروا الله حق قدره والارض جميعا قبضته يوم القيامة والسماوات مطويات بيمينه سبحانه وتعالي عما يشركون

WajaAAala feeha rawasiya minfawqiha wabaraka feeha waqaddara feehaaqwataha fee arbaAAati ayyamin sawaanlilssa-ileena

وجعل فيها رواسي من فوقها وبارك فيها وقدر فيها اقواتها في اربعة ايام سواء للسائلين

[YA]: He set on the (earth), mountains standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measure therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in four Days, in accordance with (the needs of) those who seek (Sustenance).

[RK]:He placed on it stabilizers (mountains), made it productive, and He calculated its provisions in four days, to satisfy the needs of all its inhabitants.

Faqadahunna sabAAa samawatinfee yawmayni waawha fee kulli sama-in amrahawazayyanna alssamaa alddunyabimasabeeha wahifthan thalikataqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemi

فقضاهن سبع سموات في يومين واوحي في كل سماء امرها وزينا السماء الدنيا بمصابيح وحفظا ذلك تقدير العزيز العليم

[YA]: So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

[RK]:Thus, He completed the seven universes in two days, and set up the laws for every universe. And we adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and placed guards around it. Such is the design of the Almighty, the Omniscient.

Wamin ayatihi annaka taraal-arda khashiAAatan fa-itha anzalnaAAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat inna allatheeahyaha lamuhyee almawta innahuAAala kulli shay-in qadeerun

ومن اياته انك تري الارض خاشعة فاذا انزلنا عليها الماء اهتزت وربت ان الذي احياها لمحيي الموتي انه علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: And among His Signs in this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things.

[RK]:Among His proofs is that you see the land still, then, as soon as we shower it with water, it vibrates with life. Surely, the One who revived it can revive the dead. He is Omnipotent.

Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaafaAllahu huwa alwaliyyu wahuwa yuhyee almawtawahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun

ام اتخذوا من دونه اولياء فالله هو الولي وهو يحيي الموتي وهو علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: What! Have they taken (for worship) protectors besides Him? But it is Allah,- He is the Protector, and it is He Who gives life to the dead: It is He Who has power over all things,

[RK]:Did they find other lords beside Him? GOD is the only Lord and Master. He is the One who resurrects the dead, and He is the Omnipotent One.

Lahu maqaleedu alssamawatiwaal-ardi yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashaowayaqdiru innahu bikulli shay-in AAaleemun

له مقاليد السماوات والارض يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر انه بكل شي عليم

[YA]: To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts. The Sustenance to whom He will: for He knows full well all things.

[RK]:To Him belongs absolute control of the heavens and the earth. He is the One who increases the provision for whomever He wills, or reduces it. He is fully aware of all things.

Walaw basata Allahu alrrizqaliAAibadihi labaghaw fee al-ardi walakinyunazzilu biqadarin ma yashao innahu biAAibadihikhabeerun baseerun

ولو بسط الله الرزق لعباده لبغوا في الارض ولكن ينزل بقدر مايشاء انه بعباده خبير بصير

[YA]: If Allah were to enlarge the provision for His Servants, they would indeed transgress beyond all bounds through the earth; but he sends (it) down in due measure as He pleases. For He is with His Servants Well-acquainted, Watchful.

[RK]:If GOD increased the provision for His servants, they would transgress on earth. This is why He sends it precisely measured to whomever He wills. He is fully Cognizant and Seer of His servants.

Wamin ayatihi khalqu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wama baththa feehima min dabbatinwahuwa AAala jamAAihim itha yashao qadeerun

ومن اياته خلق السماوات والارض ومابث فيهما من دابة وهو علي جمعهم اذا يشاء قدير

[YA]: And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills.

[RK]:Among His proofs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the creatures He spreads in them. He is able to summon them, when He wills.

Aw yuzawwijuhum thukrananwa-inathan wayajAAalu man yashao AAaqeeman innahuAAaleemun qadeerun

او يزوجهم ذكرانا واناثا ويجعل من يشاء عقيما انه عليم قدير

[YA]: Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will: for He is full of Knowledge and Power.

[RK]:Or, He may have the males and the females marry each other, then render whomever He wills sterile. He is Omniscient, Omnipotent.

Waallathee nazzala mina alssama-imaan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalikatukhrajoona

والذي نزل من السماء ماء بقدر فانشرنا به بلدة ميتا كذلك تخرجون

[YA]: That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);-

[RK]:He is the One who sends down from the sky water, in exact measure, to revive dead lands therewith. Similarly, you will be resurrected.

Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahumfa-inna AAalayhim muqtadiroona

او نرينك الذي وعدناهم فانا عليهم مقتدرون

[YA]: Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them.

[RK]:Or, we may show you (the retribution) we promised for them. We are in full control over them.

اولم يروا ان الله الذي خلق السماوات والارض ولم يعي بخلقهن بقادر علي ان يحيي الموتي بلي انه علي كل شئ قدير

[YA]: See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yea, verily He has power over all things.

[RK]:Do they not realize that GOD, who created the heavens and the earth without the least effort, is able to revive the dead? Yes indeed; He is Omnipotent.

واخري لم تقدروا عليها قد احاط الله بها وكان الله علي كل شئ قديرا

[YA]: And other gains (there are), which are not within your power, but which Allah has compassed: and Allah has power over all things.

[RK]:As for the group that you could not possibly defeat, GOD took care of them; GOD is Omnipotent.

[YA]: And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.

[RK]:And we caused springs to gush out of the earth. The waters met to effect a predetermined decision.

Kaththaboo bi-ayatinakulliha faakhathnahum akhthaAAazeezin muqtadirin

كذبوا باياتنا كلها فاخذناهم اخذ عزيز مقتدر

[YA]: The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will.

[RK]:They rejected all our signs. Consequently, we requited them as an Almighty, Omnipotent should.
