[YA]: This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point). [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You were not there when they drew their raffles to select Mary's guardian. You were not present when they argued with one another.

[YA]: We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms. [RK]:We have inspired you, as we inspired Noah and the prophets after him. And we inspired Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, the Patriarchs, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And we gave David the Psalms.

[YA]: "And behold! I inspired the disciples to have faith in Me and Mine Messenger: they said, 'We have faith, and do thou bear witness that we bow to Allah as Muslims'". [RK]:"Recall that I inspired the disciples: `You shall believe in Me and My messenger.' They said, `We have believed, and bear witness that we are submitters.' "
6 | [6:19] Line:808 |

[YA]: Say: "What thing is most weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is witness between me and you; This Qur'an hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there is another Allah?" Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the one Allah, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him." [RK]:Say, "Whose testimony is the greatest?" Say, "GOD's. He is the witness between me and you that this Quran has been inspired to me, to preach it to you and whomever it reaches. Indeed, you bear witness that there are other gods beside GOD." Say, "I do not testify as you do; there is only one god, and I disown your idolatry."
7 | [6:50] Line:839 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not? [RK]:Say, "I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of GOD. Nor do I know the future. Nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I simply follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind the same as the seer? Do you not reflect?"
8 | [6:93] Line:882 |
| ||
[YA]: Who can be more wicked than one who inventeth a lie against Allah, or saith, "I have received inspiration," when he hath received none, or (again) who saith, "I can reveal the like of what Allah hath revealed"? If thou couldst but see how the wicked (do fare) in the flood of confusion at death! - the angels stretch forth their hands, (saying),"Yield up your souls: this day shall ye receive your reward,- a penalty of shame, for that ye used to tell lies against Allah, and scornfully to reject of His signs!" [RK]:Who is more evil than one who fabricates lies and attributes them to GOD, or says, "I have received divine inspiration," when no such inspiration was given to him, or says, "I can write the same as GOD's revelations?" If only you could see the transgressors at the time of death! The angels extend their hands to them, saying, "Let go of your souls. Today, you have incurred a shameful retribution for saying about GOD other than the truth, and for being too arrogant to accept His revelations.
9 | [6:106] Line:895 |
| ||
[YA]: Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord: there is no god but He: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah. [RK]:Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord, there is no god except He, and disregard the idol worshipers.
10 | [6:112] Line:901 |
| ||
[YA]: Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy,- evil ones among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it: so leave them and their inventions alone. [RK]:We have permitted the enemies of every prophet - human and jinn devils - to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.
11 | [6:145] Line:934 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I find not in the message received by me by inspiration any (meat) forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be dead meat, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine,- for it is an abomination - or, what is impious, (meat) on which a name has been invoked, other than Allah's". But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- thy Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. [RK]:Say, "I do not find in the revelations given to me any food that is prohibited for any eater except: (1) carrion, (2) running blood, (3) the meat of pigs, for it is contaminated, and (4) the meat of animals blasphemously dedicated to other than GOD." If one is forced (to eat these), without being deliberate or malicious, then your Lord is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
12 | [7:117] Line:1071 |
| ||
[YA]: We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod":and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! [RK]:We then inspired Moses: "Throw down your staff," whereupon it swallowed whatever they fabricated.
13 | [7:160] Line:1114 |
| ||
[YA]: We divided them into twelve tribes or nations. We directed Moses by inspiration, when his (thirsty) people asked him for water: "Strike the rock with thy staff": out of it there gushed forth twelve springs: Each group knew its own place for water. We gave them the shade of clouds, and sent down to them manna and quails, (saying): "Eat of the good things We have provided for you": (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls. [RK]:We divided them into twelve tribal communities, and we inspired Moses when his people asked him for water: "Strike the rock with your staff," whereupon twelve springs gushed out therefrom. Thus, each community knew its water. And we shaded them with clouds, and sent down to them manna and quails: "Eat from the good things we provided for you." It is not us that they wronged; it is they who wronged their own souls.
14 | [7:203] Line:1157 |
| ||
[YA]: If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith." [RK]:If you do not produce a miracle that they demand, they say, "Why not ask for it?" Say, "I simply follow what is revealed to me from my Lord." These are enlightenments from your Lord, and guidance, and mercy for people who believe.
15 | [8:12] Line:1172 |
| ||
[YA]: Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." [RK]:Recall that your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger."
16 | [10:2] Line:1366 |
| ||
[YA]: Is it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves?- that he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of truth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer!" [RK]:Is it too much of a wonder for the people that we inspired a man like them? He (was inspired to say), "You shall warn the people, and give good news to those who believe that they have attained a position of prominence at their Lord." The disbelievers said, "This is a clever magician!"
17 | [10:15] Line:1379 |
| ||
[YA]: But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)." [RK]:When our revelations are recited to them, those who do not expect to meet us say, "Bring a Quran other than this, or change it!" Say, "I cannot possibly change it on my own. I simply follow what is revealed to me. I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the retribution of an awesome day."
18 | [10:87] Line:1451 |
| ||
[YA]: We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers: and give glad tidings to those who believe!" [RK]:We inspired Moses and his brother. "Maintain your homes in Egypt for the time being, turn your homes into synagogues, and maintain the Contact Prayers (Salat). Give good news to the believers."
19 | [10:109] Line:1473 |
| ||
[YA]: Follow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and constant, till Allah do decide: for He is the best to decide. [RK]:Follow what is revealed to you, and be patient until GOD issues His judgment; He is the best judge.
20 | [11:12] Line:1485 |
| ||
[YA]: Perchance thou mayest (feel the inclination) to give up a part of what is revealed unto thee, and thy heart feeleth straitened lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down unto him, or why does not an angel come down with him?" But thou art there only to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth all affairs! [RK]:You may wish to disregard some of that which is revealed to you, and you may be annoyed by it. Also, they may say, "How come no treasure comes down to him, or an angel?" You are only a warner; GOD controls all things.
21 | [11:36] Line:1509 |
| ||
[YA]: It was revealed to Noah: "None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. [RK]:Noah was inspired: "No more of your people are going to believe, beyond those who already believe. Do not be saddened by their actions.
22 | [11:37] Line:1510 |
| ||
[YA]: "But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)." [RK]:"Build the ark under our watchful eyes, and with our inspiration, and do not implore Me on behalf of those who have transgressed; they are destined to drown."
23 | [11:49] Line:1522 |
| ||
[YA]: Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous. [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You had no knowledge about them - neither you, nor your people - before this. Therefore, be patient. The ultimate victory belongs to the righteous.
24 | [12:3] Line:1599 |
| ||
[YA]: We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not. [RK]:We narrate to you the most accurate history through the revelation of this Quran. Before this, you were totally unaware.
25 | [12:15] Line:1611 |
| ||
[YA]: So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart (this Message): 'Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not' [RK]:When they went away with him, and unanimously decided to throw him into the abyss of the well, we inspired him: "Some day, you will tell them about all this, while they have no idea."
26 | [12:102] Line:1698 |
| ||
[YA]: Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou (present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots. [RK]:This is news from the past that we reveal to you. You were not present when they made their unanimous decision (to throw Joseph in the well), as they conspired together.
27 | [12:109] Line:1705 |
| ||
[YA]: Nor did We send before thee (as messengers) any but men, whom we did inspire,- (men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? But the home of the hereafter is best, for those who do right. Will ye not then understand? [RK]:We did not send before you except men whom we inspired, chosen from the people of various communities. Did they not roam the earth and see the consequences for those before them? The abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who lead a righteous life. Would you then understand?
28 | [13:30] Line:1737 |
| ||
[YA]: Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!" [RK]:We have sent you (O Rashad) to this community, just as we did for other communities in the past. You shall recite to them what we reveal to you, for they have disbelieved in the Most Gracious. Say, "He is my Lord. There is no god except He. I put my trust in Him alone; to Him is my ultimate destiny."
29 | [14:13] Line:1763 |
| ||
[YA]: And the Unbelievers said to their messengers: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! [RK]:Those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will banish you from our land, unless you revert to our religion." Their Lord inspired them: "We will inevitably annihilate the transgressors.
30 | [16:43] Line:1944 |
| ||
[YA]: And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. [RK]:We did not send before you except men whom we inspired. Ask those who know the scripture, if you do not know.
31 | [16:68] Line:1969 |
| ||
[YA]: And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations; [RK]:And your Lord inspired the bee: build homes in mountains and trees, and in (the hives) they build for you.
32 | [16:123] Line:2024 |
| ||
[YA]: So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah." [RK]:Then we inspired you (Muhammad) to follow the religion of Abraham, the monotheist; he never was an idol worshiper.
33 | [17:39] Line:2068 |
| ||
[YA]: These are among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee. Take not, with Allah, another object of worship, lest thou shouldst be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected. [RK]:This is some of the wisdom inspired to you by your Lord. You shall not set up another god beside GOD, lest you end up in Gehenna, blamed and defeated.
34 | [17:73] Line:2102 |
| ||
[YA]: And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend! [RK]:They almost diverted you from the revelations we have given you. They wanted you to fabricate something else, in order to consider you a friend.
35 | [17:86] Line:2115 |
| ||
[YA]: If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration:then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,- [RK]:If we will, we can take back what we revealed to you, then you will find no protector against us.
36 | [18:27] Line:2167 |
| ||
[YA]: And recite (and teach) what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord: none can change His Words, and none wilt thou find as a refuge other than Him. [RK]:You shall recite what is revealed to you of your Lord's scripture. Nothing shall abrogate His words, and you shall not find any other source beside it.
37 | [18:110] Line:2250 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner. [RK]:Say, "I am no more than a human like you, being inspired that your god is one god. Those who hope to meet their Lord shall work righteousness, and never worship any other god beside his Lord."
38 | [19:11] Line:2261 |
| ||
[YA]: So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. [RK]:He came out to his family, from the sanctuary, and signaled to them: "Meditate (on God) day and night."
39 | [20:13] Line:2361 |
| ||
[YA]: "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). [RK]:"I have chosen you, so listen to what is being revealed.
40 | [20:38] Line:2386 |
| ||
[YA]: "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: [RK]:"When we revealed to your mother what we revealed.
41 | [20:38] Line:2386 |
| ||
[YA]: "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: [RK]:"When we revealed to your mother what we revealed.
42 | [20:48] Line:2396 |
| ||
[YA]: "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" [RK]:"`We have been inspired that the retribution will inevitably afflict those who disbelieve and turn away.' "
43 | [20:77] Line:2425 |
| ||
[YA]: We sent an inspiration to Moses: "Travel by night with My servants, and strike a dry path for them through the sea, without fear of being overtaken (by Pharaoh) and without (any other) fear." [RK]:We inspired Moses: "Lead My servants out, and strike for them a dry road across the sea. You shall not fear that you may get caught, nor shall you worry."
44 | [21:7] Line:2490 |
| ||
[YA]: Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. [RK]:We did not send before you except men whom we inspired. Ask those who know the scripture, if you do not know.
45 | [21:25] Line:2508 |
| ||
[YA]: Not a messenger did We send before thee without this inspiration sent by Us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me. [RK]:We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration: "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."
46 | [21:45] Line:2528 |
| ||
[YA]: Say, "I do but warn you according to revelation": But the deaf will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned! [RK]:Say, "I am warning you in accordance with divine inspiration." However, the deaf cannot hear the call, when they are warned.
47 | [21:73] Line:2556 |
| ||
[YA]: And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only). [RK]:We made them imams who guided in accordance with our commandments, and we taught them how to work righteousness, and how to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and the obligatory charity (Zakat). To us, they were devoted worshipers.
48 | [21:108] Line:2591 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "What has come to me by inspiration is that your Allah is One Allah: will ye therefore bow to His Will (in Islam)?" [RK]:Proclaim, "I have been given divine inspiration that your god is one god. Will you then submit?"
49 | [23:27] Line:2700 |
| ||
[YA]: So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). [RK]:We then inspired him: "Make the watercraft under our watchful eyes, and in accordance with our inspiration. When our command comes, and the atmosphere boils up, put on it a pair of every kind (of your domesticated animals), and your family, except those condemned to be doomed. Do not speak to Me on behalf of those who transgressed; they will be drowned.
