[YA]: There, the (only) protection comes from Allah, the True One. He is the Best to reward, and the Best to give success. [RK]:That is because the only true Lord and master is GOD; He provides the best recompense, and with Him is the best destiny.
102 | [18:46] Line:2186 |
| ||
[YA]: Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: But the things that endure, good deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best as (the foundation for) hopes. [RK]:Money and children are the joys of this life, but the righteous works provide an eternal recompense from your Lord, and a far better hope.

[YA]: Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: But the things that endure, good deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best as (the foundation for) hopes. [YA]: "So we desired that their Lord would give them in exchange (a son) better in purity (of conduct) and closer in affection. [RK]:"We willed that your Lord substitute in his place another son; one who is better in righteousness and kindness.
105 | [18:95] Line:2235 |
| ||
[YA]: He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them: [RK]:He said, "My Lord has given me great bounties. If you cooperate with me, I will build a dam between you and them.
106 | [19:73] Line:2323 |
| ||
[YA]: When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?" [RK]:When our revelations are recited to them, clearly, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of us is more prosperous? Which of us is in the majority?"
107 | [19:76] Line:2326 |
| ||
[YA]: "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return." [RK]:GOD augments the guidance of those who choose to be guided. For the good deeds are eternally rewarded by your Lord, and bring far better returns.

[YA]: "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return." 109 | [20:73] Line:2421 |
| ||
[YA]: "For us, we have believed in our Lord: may He forgive us our faults, and the magic to which thou didst compel us: for Allah is Best and Most Abiding." [RK]:"We have believed in our Lord, that He may forgive us our sins, and the magic that you forced us to perform. GOD is far better and Everlasting."
110 | [20:131] Line:2479 |
| ||
[YA]: Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendour of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring. [RK]:And do not covet what we bestowed upon any other people. Such are temporary ornaments of this life, whereby we put them to the test. What your Lord provides for you is far better, and everlasting.
111 | [21:35] Line:2518 |
| ||
[YA]: Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return. [RK]:Every person will taste death, after we put you to the test through adversity and prosperity, then to us you ultimately return.
112 | [21:73] Line:2556 |
| ||
[YA]: And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only). [RK]:We made them imams who guided in accordance with our commandments, and we taught them how to work righteousness, and how to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and the obligatory charity (Zakat). To us, they were devoted worshipers.
113 | [21:89] Line:2572 |
| ||
[YA]: And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors." [RK]:And Zachariah implored his Lord: "My Lord, do not keep me without an heir, though You are the best inheritor."
114 | [21:90] Line:2573 |
| ||
[YA]: So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us. [RK]:We responded to him and granted him John; we fixed his wife for him. That is because they used to hasten to work righteousness, and implored us in situations of joy, as well as fear. To us, they were reverent.
115 | [22:11] Line:2606 |
| ||
[YA]: There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see! [RK]:Among the people there is the one who worships GOD conditionally. If things go his way, he is content. But if some adversity befalls him, he makes an about-face. Thus, he loses both this life and the Hereafter. Such is the real loss.
116 | [22:30] Line:2625 |
| ||
[YA]: Such (is the Pilgrimage): whoever honours the sacred rites of Allah, for him it is good in the Sight of his Lord. Lawful to you (for food in Pilgrimage) are cattle, except those mentioned to you (as exception): but shun the abomination of idols, and shun the word that is false,- [RK]:Those who reverence the rites decreed by GOD have deserved a good reward at their Lord. All livestock is made lawful for your food, except for those specifically prohibited for you. You shall avoid the abomination of idol worship, and avoid bearing false witness.
117 | [22:36] Line:2631 |
| ||
[YA]: The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful. [RK]:The animal offerings are among the rites decreed by GOD for your own good. You shall mention GOD's name on them while they are standing in line. Once they are offered for sacrifice, you shall eat therefrom and feed the poor and the needy. This is why we subdued them for you, that you may show your appreciation.
118 | [22:77] Line:2672 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! bow down, prostrate yourselves, and adore your Lord; and do good; that ye may prosper. [RK]:O you who believe, you shall bow, prostrate, worship your Lord, and work righteousness, that you may succeed.
119 | [23:29] Line:2702 |
| ||
[YA]: And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark." [RK]:"And say, `My Lord, let me disembark onto a blessed location; You are the best deliverer.' "
120 | [23:56] Line:2729 |
| ||
[YA]: We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. [RK]:we must be showering them with blessings? Indeed, they have no idea.
121 | [23:61] Line:2734 |
| ||
[YA]: It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. [RK]:They are eager to do righteous works; they compete in doing them.
122 | [23:72] Line:2745 |
| ||
[YA]: Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. [RK]:Are you asking them for a wage? Your Lord's wage is far better. He is the best Provider.
123 | [23:72] Line:2745 |
| ||
[YA]: Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. [RK]:Are you asking them for a wage? Your Lord's wage is far better. He is the best Provider.
124 | [23:109] Line:2782 |
| ||
[YA]: "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" [RK]:"A group of My servants used to say, `Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and shower us with mercy. Of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful.'
125 | [23:118] Line:2791 |
| ||
[YA]: So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" [RK]:Say, "My Lord, shower us with forgiveness and mercy. Of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful."
126 | [24:11] Line:2802 |
| ||
[YA]: Those who brought forward the lie are a body among yourselves: think it not to be an evil to you; On the contrary it is good for you: to every man among them (will come the punishment) of the sin that he earned, and to him who took on himself the lead among them, will be a penalty grievous. [RK]:A gang among you produced a big lie. Do not think that it was bad for you; instead, it was good for you. Meanwhile, each one of them has earned his share of the guilt. As for the one who initiated the whole incident, he has incurred a terrible retribution.
127 | [24:12] Line:2803 |
| ||
[YA]: Why did not the believers - men and women - when ye heard of the affair,- put the best construction on it in their own minds and say, "This (charge) is an obvious lie"? [RK]:When you heard it, the believing men and the believing women should have had better thoughts about themselves, and should have said, "This is obviously a big lie."
128 | [24:27] Line:2818 |
| ||
[YA]: O ye who believe! enter not houses other than your own, until ye have asked permission and saluted those in them: that is best for you, in order that ye may heed (what is seemly). [RK]:O you who believe, do not enter homes other than yours without permission from their inhabitants, and without greeting them. This is better for you, that you may take heed.
129 | [24:33] Line:2824 |
| ||
[YA]: Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah gives them means out of His grace. And if any of your slaves ask for a deed in writing (to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum), give them such a deed if ye know any good in them: yea, give them something yourselves out of the means which Allah has given to you. But force not your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity, in order that ye may make a gain in the goods of this life. But if anyone compels them, yet, after such compulsion, is Allah, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (to them), [RK]:Those who cannot afford to get married shall maintain morality until GOD provides for them from His grace. Those among your servants who wish to be freed in order to marry, you shall grant them their wish, once you realize that they are honest. And give them from GOD's money that He has bestowed upon you. You shall not force your girls to commit prostitution, seeking the materials of this world, if they wish to be chaste. If anyone forces them, then GOD, seeing that they are forced, is Forgiver, Merciful.
130 | [24:60] Line:2851 |
| ||
[YA]: Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage,- there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and Allah is One Who sees and knows all things. [RK]:The elderly women who do not expect to get married commit nothing wrong by relaxing their dress code, provided they do not reveal too much of their bodies. To maintain modesty is better for them. GOD is Hearer, Knower.
131 | [25:10] Line:2865 |
| ||
[YA]: Blessed is He who, if that were His will, could give thee better (things) than those,- Gardens beneath which rivers flow; and He could give thee palaces (secure to dwell in). [RK]:Most blessed is the One who can, if He wills, give you much better than their demands - gardens with flowing streams, and many mansions.
132 | [25:15] Line:2870 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "Is that best, or the eternal garden, promised to the righteous? for them, that is a reward as well as a goal (of attainment). [RK]:Say, "Is this better or the eternal Paradise that is promised for the righteous? It is their well deserved reward; a well deserved destiny."
133 | [25:24] Line:2879 |
| ||
[YA]: The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. [RK]:The dwellers of Paradise are far better on that day; they will hear better news.
134 | [27:36] Line:3195 |
| ||
[YA]: Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift! [RK]:When the hoopoe returned to Solomon (he told him the news), and he responded (to Sheba's people): "Are you giving me money? What GOD has given me is far better than what He has given you. You are the ones to rejoice in such gifts."
135 | [27:59] Line:3218 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: Praise be to Allah, and Peace on his servants whom He has chosen (for his Message). (Who) is better?- Allah or the false gods they associate (with Him)? [RK]:Say, "Praise be to GOD and peace be upon His servants whom He chose. Is GOD better, or the idols some people set up?"
136 | [27:89] Line:3248 |
| ||
[YA]: If any do good, good will (accrue) to them therefrom; and they will be secure from terror that Day. [RK]:Those who bring good works (in their records) will receive far better rewards, and they will be perfectly secure from the horrors of that day.
137 | [28:24] Line:3276 |
| ||
[YA]: So he watered (their flocks) for them; then he turned back to the shade, and said:"O my Lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that Thou dost send me!" [RK]:He watered for them, then turned to the shade, saying, "My Lord, whatever provision you send to me, I am in dire need for it."
138 | [28:26] Line:3278 |
| ||
[YA]: Said one of the (damsels): "O my (dear) father! engage him on wages: truly the best of men for thee to employ is the (man) who is strong and trusty".... [RK]:One of the two women said, "O my father, hire him. He is the best one to hire, for he is strong and honest."
139 | [28:60] Line:3312 |
| ||
[YA]: The (material) things which ye are given are but the conveniences of this life and the glitter thereof; but that which is with Allah is better and more enduring: will ye not then be wise? [RK]:Everything that is given to you is only the material of this life, and its vanity. What is with GOD is far better, and everlasting. Do you not understand?
140 | [28:68] Line:3320 |
| ||
[YA]: Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases: no choice have they (in the matter): Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)! [RK]:Your Lord is the One who creates whatever He wills, and chooses; no one else does any choosing. Glory be to GOD, the Most Exalted. He is far above needing partners.
141 | [28:80] Line:3332 |
| ||
[YA]: But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)." [RK]:As for those who were blessed with knowledge, they said, "Woe to you, GOD's recompense is far better for those who believe and lead a righteous life." None attains this except the steadfast.
142 | [28:84] Line:3336 |
| ||
[YA]: If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed; but if any does evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds. [RK]:Whoever works righteousness receives a far better reward. As for those who commit sins, the retribution for their sins is precisely equivalent to their works.
143 | [29:16] Line:3356 |
| ||
[YA]: And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand! [RK]:Abraham said to his people, "You shall worship GOD, and reverence Him. This is better for you, if you only knew.
144 | [30:38] Line:3447 |
| ||
[YA]: So give what is due to kindred, the needy, and the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek the Countenance, of Allah, and it is they who will prosper. [RK]:Therefore, you shall give the relatives their rightful share (of charity), as well as the poor, and the traveling alien. This is better for those who sincerely seek GOD's pleasure; they are the winners.
145 | [33:19] Line:3552 |
| ||
[YA]: Covetous over you. Then when fear comes, thou wilt see them looking to thee, their eyes revolving, like (those of) one over whom hovers death: but when the fear is past, they will smite you with sharp tongues, covetous of goods. Such men have no faith, and so Allah has made their deeds of none effect: and that is easy for Allah. [RK]:Also, they are too stingy when dealing with you. If anything threatens the community, you see their eyes rolling with fear, as if death had already come to them. Once the crisis is over, they whip you with sharp tongues. They are too stingy with their wealth. These are not believers, and, consequently, GOD has nullified their works. This is easy for GOD to do.
146 | [33:25] Line:3558 |
| ||
[YA]: And Allah turned back the Unbelievers for (all) their fury: no advantage did they gain; and enough is Allah for the believers in their fight. And Allah is full of Strength, able to enforce His Will. [RK]:GOD repulsed those who disbelieved with their rage, and they left empty-handed. GOD thus spared the believers any fighting. GOD is Powerful, Almighty.
147 | [33:36] Line:3569 |
| ||
[YA]: It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path. [RK]:No believing man or believing woman, if GOD and His messenger issue any command, has any choice regarding that command. Anyone who disobeys GOD and His messenger has gone far astray.
148 | [34:39] Line:3645 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Sustenance to such of his servants as He pleases: and nothing do ye spend in the least (in His cause) but He replaces it: for He is the Best of those who grant Sustenance. [RK]:Say, "My Lord is the One who controls all provisions; He increases the provisions for whomever He chooses from among His servants, or reduces them. Anything you spend (in the cause of God), He will reward you for it; He is the Best Provider."
149 | [35:32] Line:3692 |
| ||
[YA]: Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah's leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace. [RK]:We passed the scripture from generation to generation, and we allowed whomever we chose from among our servants to receive it. Subsequently, some of them wronged their souls, others upheld it only part of the time, while others were eager to work righteousness in accordance with GOD's will; this is the greatest triumph.
150 | [37:62] Line:3850 |
| ||
[YA]: Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? [RK]:Is this a better destiny, or the tree of bitterness?
