[YA]: On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said. [RK]:They said what their ancestors said.
102 | [24:17] Line:2808 |

[YA]: Allah doth admonish you, that ye may never repeat such (conduct), if ye are (true) Believers. [RK]:GOD admonishes you that you shall never do it again, if you are believers.
103 | [24:34] Line:2825 |

[YA]: We have already sent down to you verses making things clear, an illustration from (the story of) people who passed away before you, and an admonition for those who fear (Allah). [RK]:We have revealed to you clarifying revelations, and examples from the past generations, and an enlightenment for the righteous.

[YA]: Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things. [RK]:GOD is the light of the heavens and the earth. The allegory of His light is that of a concave mirror behind a lamp that is placed inside a glass container. The glass container is like a bright, pearl-like star. The fuel thereof is supplied from a blessed oil-producing tree, that is neither eastern, nor western. Its oil is almost self-radiating; needs no fire to ignite it. Light upon light. GOD guides to His light whoever wills (to be guided). GOD thus cites the parables for the people. GOD is fully aware of all things.

106 | [25:9] Line:2864 |

[YA]: See what kinds of comparisons they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find! [RK]:Note how they called you all kinds of names, and how this led them astray, never to find their way back.
107 | [25:33] Line:2888 |
| ||
[YA]: And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). [RK]:Whatever argument they come up with, we provide you with the truth, and a better understanding.
108 | [25:39] Line:2894 |
| ||
[YA]: To each one We set forth Parables and examples; and each one We broke to utter annihilation (for their sins). [RK]:To each of these groups, we delivered sufficient examples, before we annihilated them.
109 | [26:154] Line:3086 |
| ||
[YA]: "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" [RK]:"You are no more than a human like us. Produce a miracle, if you are truthful."
110 | [26:186] Line:3118 |
| ||
[YA]: "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! [RK]:"You are no more than a human being like us. In fact, we think you are a liar.
111 | [28:48] Line:3300 |
| ||
[YA]: But (now), when the Truth has come to them from Ourselves, they say, "Why are not (Signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses?" Do they not then reject (the Signs) which were formerly sent to Moses? They say: "Two kinds of sorcery, each assisting the other!" And they say: "For us, we reject all (such things)!" [RK]:Now that the truth has come to them from us, they said, "If only we could be given what was given to Moses!" Did they not disbelieve in what was given to Moses in the past? They said, "Both (scriptures) are works of magic that copied one another." They also said, "We are disbelievers in both of them."
112 | [28:79] Line:3331 |
| ||
[YA]: So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his wordly) glitter. Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: "Oh! that we had the like of what Qarun has got! for he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune!" [RK]:One day, he came out to his people in full splendor. Those who preferred this worldly life said, "Oh, we wish that we possessed what Qaaroon has attained. Indeed, he is very fortunate."
113 | [29:41] Line:3381 |
| ||
[YA]: The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew. [RK]:The allegory of those who accept other masters beside GOD is that of the spider and her home; the flimsiest of all homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.

115 | [29:43] Line:3383 |
| ||
[YA]: And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge. [RK]:We cite these examples for the people, and none appreciate them except the knowledgeable.
116 | [30:27] Line:3436 |
| ||
[YA]: It is He Who begins (the process of) creation; then repeats it; and for Him it is most easy. To Him belongs the loftiest similitude (we can think of) in the heavens and the earth: for He is Exalted in Might, full of wisdom. [RK]:And He is the One who initiates the creation, then repeats it; this is even easier for Him. To Him belongs the most sublime similitude, in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, Most Wise.
117 | [30:28] Line:3437 |
| ||
[YA]: He does propound to you a similitude from your own (experience): do ye have partners among those whom your right hands possess, to share as equals in the wealth We have bestowed on you? Do ye fear them as ye fear each other? Thus do we explain the Signs in detail to a people that understand. [RK]:He cites for you herein an example from among yourselves: Do you ever elevate your servants or subordinates to the level where they rival you, and to the point that you pay them as much allegiance as is being paid to you? We thus explain the revelations for people who understand.
118 | [30:58] Line:3467 |
| ||
[YA]: verily We have propounded for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable: But if thou bring to them any Sign, the Unbelievers are sure to say, "Ye do nothing but talk vanities." [RK]:Thus, we have cited for the people in this Quran all kinds of examples. Yet, no matter what kind of proof you present to the disbelievers, they say, "You are falsifiers."
119 | [34:13] Line:3619 |
| ||
[YA]: They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places): "Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants are grateful!" [RK]:They made for him anything he wanted - niches, statues, deep pools, and heavy cooking pots. O family of David, work (righteousness) to show your appreciation. Only a few of My servants are appreciative.
120 | [35:14] Line:3674 |
| ||
[YA]: If ye invoke them, they will not listen to your call, and if they were to listen, they cannot answer your (prayer). On the Day of Judgment they will reject your "Partnership". and none, (O man!) can tell thee (the Truth) like the One Who is acquainted with all things. [RK]:If you call on them, they cannot hear you. Even if they hear you, they cannot respond to you. On the Day of Resurrection, they will disown you. None can inform you like the Most Cognizant.
121 | [36:13] Line:3718 |
| ||
[YA]: Set forth to them, by way of a parable, the (story of) the Companions of the City. Behold!, there came messengers to it. [RK]:Cite for them the example of people in a community that received the messengers.
122 | [36:15] Line:3720 |
| ||
[YA]: The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (Allah) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie." [RK]:They said, "You are no more than human beings like us. The Most Gracious did not send down anything. You are liars."
123 | [36:42] Line:3747 |
| ||
[YA]: And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. [RK]:Then we created the same for them to ride in.
124 | [36:78] Line:3783 |
| ||
[YA]: And he makes comparisons for Us, and forgets his own (origin and) Creation: He says, "Who can give life to (dry) bones and decomposed ones (at that)?" [RK]:He raises a question to us - while forgetting his initial creation - "Who can resurrect the bones after they had rotted?"
125 | [36:81] Line:3786 |
| ||
[YA]: "Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like thereof?" - Yea, indeed! for He is the Creator Supreme, of skill and knowledge (infinite)! [RK]:Is not the One who created the heavens and the earth able to recreate the same? Yes indeed; He is the Creator, the Omniscient.
126 | [37:61] Line:3849 |
| ||
[YA]: For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. [RK]:This is what every worker should work for.
127 | [38:43] Line:4013 |
| ||
[YA]: And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. [RK]:We restored his family for him; twice as many. Such is our mercy; a reminder for those who possess intelligence.
128 | [39:27] Line:4085 |
| ||
[YA]: We have put forth for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable, in order that they may receive admonition. [RK]:We have cited for the people every kind of example in this Quran, that they may take heed.
129 | [39:29] Line:4087 |
| ||
[YA]: Allah puts forth a Parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other, and a man belonging entirely to one master: are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! but most of them have no knowledge. [RK]:GOD cites the example of a man who deals with disputing partners (Hadith), compared to a man who deals with only one consistent source (Quran). Are they the same? Praise be to GOD; most of them do not know.
130 | [39:29] Line:4087 |

131 | [39:47] Line:4105 |
| ||
[YA]: Even if the wrong-doers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment: but something will confront them from Allah, which they could never have counted upon! [RK]:If those who transgressed owned everything on earth, even twice as much, they would readily give it up to avoid the terrible retribution on the Day of Resurrection. They will be shown by GOD what they never expected.
132 | [40:30] Line:4163 |
| ||
[YA]: Then said the man who believed: "O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)!- [RK]:The one who believed said, "O my people, I fear for you the same fate as the previous opponents.
133 | [40:31] Line:4164 |
| ||
[YA]: "Something like the fate of the People of Noah, the 'Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to his Servants. [RK]:"The opponents of Noah, and `Aad, Thamoud, and others who came after them. GOD does not wish any injustice for the people.
134 | [40:40] Line:4173 |
| ||
[YA]: "He that works evil will not be requited but by the like thereof: and he that works a righteous deed - whether man or woman - and is a Believer- such will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein will they have abundance without measure. [RK]:Whoever commits a sin is requited for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter Paradise wherein they receive provisions without any limits.
135 | [41:6] Line:4224 |
| ||
[YA]: Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- [RK]:Say, "I am no more than a human being like you, who has been inspired that your god is one god. You shall be devoted to Him, and ask His forgiveness. Woe to the idol worshipers.
136 | [41:13] Line:4231 |
| ||
[YA]: But if they turn away, say thou: "I have warned you of a stunning Punishment (as of thunder and lightning) like that which (overtook) the 'Ad and the Thamud!" [RK]:If they turn away, then say, "I am warning you of a disaster like the disaster that annihilated `Aad and Thamoud."
137 | [42:11] Line:4283 |
| ||
[YA]: (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things). [RK]:Initiator of the heavens and the earth. He created for you from among yourselves spouses - and also for the animals. He thus provides you with the means to multiply. There is nothing that equals Him. He is the Hearer, the Seer.
138 | [42:40] Line:4312 |
| ||
[YA]: The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. [RK]:Although the just requital for an injustice is an equivalent retribution, those who pardon and maintain righteousness are rewarded by GOD. He does not love the unjust.
139 | [43:8] Line:4333 |
| ||
[YA]: So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. [RK]:Consequently, we annihilated people who were even more powerful than these. We thus set the examples from the previous communities.
140 | [43:17] Line:4342 |
| ||
[YA]: When news is brought to one of them of (the birth of) what he sets up as a likeness to (Allah) Most Gracious, his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief! [RK]:When one of them is given news (of a daughter) as they claimed for the Most Gracious, his face is darkened with misery and anger!
141 | [43:56] Line:4381 |
| ||
[YA]: And We made them (a people) of the Past and an Example to later ages. [RK]:We rendered them a precedent and an example for the others.
142 | [43:57] Line:4382 |
| ||
[YA]: When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! [RK]:When the son of Mary was cited as an example, your people disregarded it.
143 | [43:59] Line:4384 |
| ||
[YA]: He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. [RK]:He was no more than a servant whom we blessed, and we sent him as an example for the Children of Israel.
144 | [46:10] Line:4520 |
| ||
[YA]: Say: "See ye? If (this teaching) be from Allah, and ye reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity (with earlier scripture), and has believed while ye are arrogant, (how unjust ye are!) truly, Allah guides not a people unjust." [RK]:Say, "What if it is from GOD and you disbelieved in it? A witness from the Children of Israel has borne witness to a similar phenomenon, and he has believed, while you have turned arrogant. Surely, GOD does not guide the wicked people."
145 | [47:3] Line:4548 |
| ||
[YA]: This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes. [RK]:This is because those who disbelieve are following falsehood, while those who believe are following the truth from their Lord. GOD thus cites for the people their examples.
146 | [47:10] Line:4555 |
| ||
[YA]: Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them (who did evil)? Allah brought utter destruction on them, and similar (fates await) those who reject Allah. [RK]:Did they not roam the earth and see the consequences for those before them? GOD destroyed their works; all disbelievers will suffer the same fate.
147 | [47:15] Line:4560 |
| ||
[YA]: (Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)? [RK]:The allegory of Paradise that is promised for the righteous is this: it has rivers of unpolluted water, and rivers of fresh milk, and rivers of wine - delicious for the drinkers - and rivers of strained honey. They have all kinds of fruits therein, and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are they better) or those who abide forever in the hellfire, and drink hellish water that tears up their intestines?
148 | [47:38] Line:4583 |
| ||
[YA]: Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance) in the Way of Allah: But among you are some that are niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense of their own souls. But Allah is free of all wants, and it is ye that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you! [RK]:You are invited to spend in the cause of GOD, but some of you turn stingy. The stingy are stingy towards their own souls. GOD is Rich, while you are poor. If you turn away, He will substitute other people in your place, and they will not be like you.
149 | [48:29] Line:4612 |
| ||
[YA]: Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward. [RK]:Muhammad - the messenger of GOD - and those with him are harsh and stern against the disbelievers, but kind and compassionate amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, as they seek GOD's blessings and approval. Their marks are on their faces, because of prostrating. This is the same example as in the Torah. Their example in the Gospel is like plants that grow taller and stronger, and please the farmers. He thus enrages the disbelievers. GOD promises those among them who believe, and lead a righteous life, forgiveness and a great recompense.
