Huwa allathee anzala alssakeenatafee quloobi almu/mineena liyazdadoo eemanan maAAaeemanihim walillahi junoodu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeemanهو الذي انزل السكينة في قلوب المؤمنين ليزدادوا ايمانا مع ايمانهم ولله جنود السماوات والارض وكان الله عليما حكيما
[YA]: It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the Believers, that they may add faith to their faith;- for to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;-

[RK]:He is the One who places contentment into the hearts of believers to augment more faith, in addition to their faith. To GOD belongs all forces of the heavens and the earth. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

Liyudkhila almu/mineena waalmu/minatijannatin tajree min tahtiha al-anharukhalideena feeha wayukaffira AAanhum sayyi-atihimwakana thalika AAinda Allahi fawzan AAatheemanليدخل المؤمنين والمؤمنات جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار خالدين فيها ويكفر عنهم سيئاتهم وكان ذلك عند الله فوزا عظيما
[YA]: That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man),-

[RK]:He will certainly admit the believing men and women into gardens with flowing streams, wherein they abide forever. He will remit their sins. This is, in the sight of GOD, a great triumph.

Sayaqoolu laka almukhallafoona mina al-aAArabishaghalatna amwaluna waahloona faistaghfirlana yaqooloona bi-alsinatihim ma laysa feequloobihim qul faman yamliku lakum mina Allahi shay-an inarada bikum darran aw arada bikum nafAAanbal kana Allahu bima taAAmaloona khabeeranسيقول لك المخلفون من الاعراب شغلتنا اموالنا واهلونا فاستغفر لنا يقولون بالسنتهم ماليس في قلوبهم قل فمن يملكم من الله شيئا ان اراد بكم ضرا او اراد بكم نفعا بل كان الله بما تعملون خبيرا
[YA]: The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

[RK]:The sedentary Arabs who stay behind will say, "We have been preoccupied with our money and our families, so ask forgiveness for us!" They utter with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Who can protect you from GOD, if He willed any adversity for you, or if He willed any blessing for you?" GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

Bal thanantum an lan yanqalibaalrrasoolu waalmu/minoona ila ahleehimabadan wazuyyina thalika fee quloobikum wathanantumthanna alssaw-i wakuntum qawman booranبل ظننتم ان لن ينقلب الرسول والمؤمنون الي اهليهم ابدا وزين ذلك في قلوبكم وظننتم ظن السوء وكنتم قوما بورا
[YA]: "Nay, ye thought that the Messenger and the Believers would never return to their families; this seemed pleasing in your hearts, and ye conceived an evil thought, for ye are a people lost (in wickedness)."

[RK]:You secretly believed that the messenger and the believers will be defeated and never come back to their families, and this was firmly established in your hearts. You harbored evil thoughts and turned into wicked people.

Humu allatheena kafaroo wasaddookumAAani almasjidi alharami waalhadyamaAAkoofan an yablugha mahillahu walawla rijalunmu/minoona wanisaon mu/minatun lam taAAlamoohum antataoohum fatuseebakum minhum maAAarratun bighayriAAilmin liyudkhila Allahu fee rahmatihi man yashaolaw tazayyaloo laAAaththabna allatheenakafaroo minhum AAathaban aleemanهم الذين كفروا وصدوكم عن المسجد الحرام والهدي معكوفا ان يبلغ محله ولولا رجال مؤمنون ونساء مؤمنات لم تعلموهم ان تطؤوهم فتصيبكم منهم معرة بغير علم ليدخل الله في رحمته من يشاء لو تزيلوا لعذبنا الذين كفروا منهم عذابا اليما
[YA]: They are the ones who denied Revelation and hindered you from the Sacred Mosque and the sacrificial animals, detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. Had there not been believing men and believing women whom ye did not know that ye were trampling down and on whose account a crime would have accrued to you without (your) knowledge, (Allah would have allowed you to force your way, but He held back your hands) that He may admit to His Mercy whom He will. If they had been apart, We should certainly have punished the Unbelievers among them with a grievous Punishment.

[RK]:It is they who disbelieved and barred you from the Sacred Masjid, and even prevented your offerings from reaching their destination. There were believing men and women (within the enemy camp) whom you did not know, and you were about to hurt them, unknowingly. GOD thus admits into His mercy whomever He wills. If they persist, He will requite those among them who disbelieve with a painful retribution.

Ith jaAAala allatheena kafaroofee quloobihimu alhamiyyata hamiyyata aljahiliyyatifaanzala Allahu sakeenatahu AAala rasoolihi waAAalaalmu/mineena waalzamahum kalimata alttaqwa wakanooahaqqa biha waahlaha wakana Allahubikulli shay-in AAaleemanاذ جعل الذين كفروا في قلوبهم الحمية حمية الجاهلية فانزل الله سكينته علي رسوله وعلي المؤمنين والزمهم كلمة التقوي وكانوا احق بها واهلها وكان الله بكل شئ عليما
[YA]: While the Unbelievers got up in their hearts heat and cant - the heat and cant of ignorance,- Allah sent down His Tranquillity to his Messenger and to the Believers, and made them stick close to the command of self-restraint; and well were they entitled to it and worthy of it. And Allah has full knowledge of all things.

[RK]:While those who disbelieved were enraged, and their hearts were filled with the pride of the days of ignorance, GOD blessed His messenger and the believers with peaceful contentment, and directed them to uphold the word of righteousness. This is what they well deserved. GOD is fully aware of all things.

Muhammadun rasoolu Allahi waallatheenamaAAahu ashiddao AAala alkuffari ruhamaobaynahum tarahum rukkaAAan sujjadan yabtaghoona fadlanmina Allahi waridwanan seemahum feewujoohihim min athari alssujoodi thalika mathaluhumfee alttawrati wamathaluhum fee al-injeelikazarAAin akhraja shat-ahu faazarahu faistaghlathafaistawa AAala sooqihi yuAAjibu alzzurraAAaliyagheetha bihimu alkuffara waAAada Allahuallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihatiminhum maghfiratan waajran AAatheemanمحمد رسول الله والذين معه اشداء علي الكفار رحماء بينهم تراهم ركعا سجدا يبتغون فضلا من الله ورضوانا سيماهم في وجوههم من اثر السجود ذلك مثلهم في التوراة ومثلهم في الانجيل كزرع اخرج شطاه فازره فاستغلظ فاستوي علي سوقه يعجب الزراع ليغيظ بهم الكفار وعد الله الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات منهم مغفرة واجرا عظيما
[YA]: Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

[RK]:Muhammad - the messenger of GOD - and those with him are harsh and stern against the disbelievers, but kind and compassionate amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, as they seek GOD's blessings and approval. Their marks are on their faces, because of prostrating. This is the same example as in the Torah. Their example in the Gospel is like plants that grow taller and stronger, and please the farmers. He thus enrages the disbelievers. GOD promises those among them who believe, and lead a righteous life, forgiveness and a great recompense.

WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahilaw yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina al-amri laAAanittum walakinnaAllaha habbaba ilaykumu al-eemanawazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqawaalAAisyana ola-ika humu alrrashidoonaواعلموا ان فيكم رسول الله لو يطيعكم في كثير من الامر لعنتم ولكن الله حبب اليكم الايمان وزينه في قلوبكم وكره اليكم الكفر والفسوق والعصيان اولئك هم الراشدون
[YA]: And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;-

[RK]:And know that GOD's messenger has come in your midst. Had he listened to you in many things, you would have made things difficult for yourselves. But GOD made you love faith and adorned it in your hearts, and He made you abhor disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience. These are the guided ones.

WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahilaw yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina al-amri laAAanittum walakinnaAllaha habbaba ilaykumu al-eemanawazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqawaalAAisyana ola-ika humu alrrashidoonaواعلموا ان فيكم رسول الله لو يطيعكم في كثير من الامر لعنتم ولكن الله حبب اليكم الايمان وزينه في قلوبكم وكره اليكم الكفر والفسوق والعصيان اولئك هم الراشدون

Qalati al-aAArabu amannaqul lam tu/minoo walakin qooloo aslamna walammayadkhuli al-eemanu fee quloobikum wa-in tuteeAAooAllaha warasoolahu la yalitkum min aAAmalikumshay-an inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemunقالت الاعراب امنا قل لم تؤمنوا ولكن قولوا اسلمنا ولما يدخل الايمان في قلوبكم وان تطيعوا الله ورسوله لايلتكم من اعمالكم شيئا ان الله غفور رحيم
[YA]: The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only)say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

[RK]:The Arabs said, "We are Mu'mens (believers)." Say, "You have not believed; what you should say is, `We are Muslims (submitters),' until belief is established in your hearts." If you obey GOD and His messenger, He will not put any of your works to waste. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

Innama almu/minoona allatheenaamanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboowajahadoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahiola-ika humu alssadiqoonaانما المؤمنون الذين امنوا بالله ورسوله ثم لم يرتابوا وجاهدوا باموالهم وانفسهم في سبيل الله اولئك هم الصادقون
[YA]: Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

[RK]:Mu'mens (believers) are those who believe in GOD and His messenger, then attain the status of having no doubt whatsoever, and strive with their money and their lives in the cause of GOD. These are the truthful ones.

Bal kaththaboo bialhaqqilamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareejinبل كذبوا بالحق لما جاءهم فهم في امر مريج
[YA]: But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state.

[RK]:They rejected the truth when it came to them; they are utterly confused.

Waal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli zawjin baheejinوالارض مددناها والقينا فيها رواسي وانبتنا فيها من كل زوج بهيج
[YA]: And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-

[RK]:And we created the earth, and scattered on it mountains, and grew in it all kinds of beautiful plants.

Waal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli zawjin baheejinوالارض مددناها والقينا فيها رواسي وانبتنا فيها من كل زوج بهيج
[YA]: And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-

[RK]:And we created the earth, and scattered on it mountains, and grew in it all kinds of beautiful plants.

AfaAAayeena bialkhalqial-awwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeedinافعيينا بالخلق الاول بل هم في لبس من خلق جديد
[YA]: Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation?

[RK]:Were we too burdened by the first creation? Is this why they doubt resurrection?

Wanufikha fee alssoori thalikayawmu alwaAAeediونفخ في الصور ذلك يوم الوعيد
[YA]: And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given).

[RK]:The horn is blown; this is the promised day.

Laqad kunta fee ghaflatin min hathafakashafna AAanka ghitaaka fabasarukaalyawma hadeedunلقد كنت في غفلة من هذا فكشفنا عنك غطاءك فبصرك اليوم حديد
[YA]: (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!"

[RK]:You used to be oblivious to this. We now remove your veil; today, your vision is (as strong as) steel.

Alqiya fee jahannama kulla kaffarinAAaneedinالقيا في جهنم كل كفار عنيد
[YA]: (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!-

[RK]:Throw into Gehenna every stubborn disbeliever.

Allathee jaAAala maAAa Allahiilahan akhara faalqiyahu fee alAAathabialshshadeediالذي جعل مع الله الها اخر فالقياه في العذاب الشديد
[YA]: "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty."

[RK]:He set up beside GOD another god. Throw him into severe retribution.

Qala qareenuhu rabbana maatghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalinbaAAeedinقال قرينه ربنا مااطغيته ولكن كان في ضلال بعيد
[YA]: His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray."

[RK]:His companion said, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him; he was far astray."

Lahum ma yashaoona feehawaladayna mazeedunلهم مايشاؤون فيها ولدينا مزيد
[YA]: There will be for them therein all that they wish,- and more besides in Our Presence.

[RK]:They get anything they wish therein, and we have even more.

Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin humashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fee albiladi halmin maheesinوكم اهلكنا قبلهم من قرن رهم اشد منهم بطشا فنقبوا في البلاد هل من محيص
[YA]: But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?

[RK]:Many a generation before them, who were more powerful, we annihilated. They searched the land; did they find an escape?

Inna fee thalika lathikraliman kana lahu qalbun aw alqa alssamAAawahuwa shaheedunان في ذلك لذكري لمن كان له قلب او القي السمع وهو شهيد
[YA]: Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth).

[RK]:This should be a lesson for everyone who possesses a mind, or is able to hear and witness.

Walaqad khalaqna alssamawatiwaal-arda wama baynahuma fee sittatiayyamin wama massana min lughoobinولقد خلقنا السماوات والارض ومابينهما في ستة ايام ومامسنا من لغوب
[YA]: We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us.

[RK]:We have created the heavens and the earth, and everything between them in six days, and no fatigue touched us.

Innakum lafee qawlin mukhtalifinانكم لفي قول مختلف
[YA]: Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant,

[RK]:You continue to dispute the truth.

Allatheena hum fee ghamratin sahoonaالذين هم في غمرة ساهون
[YA]: Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion:

[RK]:In their blundering, they are totally heedless.

Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwaAAuyooninان المتقين في جنات وعيون
[YA]: As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs,

[RK]:The righteous have deserved gardens and springs.

Wafee amwalihim haqqun lilssa-iliwaalmahroomiوفي اموالهم حق للسائل والمحروم
[YA]: And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking).

[RK]:A portion of their money was set aside for the beggar and the needy.

Wafee al-ardi ayatunlilmooqineenaوفي الارض ايات للموقنين
[YA]: On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith,

[RK]:The earth is full of signs for those who are certain.

Wafee anfusikum afala tubsiroonaوفي انفسكم افلا تبصرون
[YA]: As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see?

[RK]:And within yourselves; can you see?

Wafee alssama-i rizqukum wamatooAAadoonaوفي السماء رزقكم وماتوعدون
[YA]: And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised.

[RK]:In the heaven is your provision, and everything that is promised to you.

Faaqbalati imraatuhu fee sarratin fasakkatwajhaha waqalat AAajoozun AAaqeemunفاقبلت امراته في صرة فصكت وجهها وقالت عجوز عقيم
[YA]: But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!"

[RK]:His wife was astonished. Noting her wrinkled face: "I am a sterile old woman."

Faakhrajna man kana feehamina almu/mineenaفاخرجنا من كان فيها من المؤمنين
[YA]: Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there,

[RK]:We then delivered all the believers.

Fama wajadna feehaghayra baytin mina almuslimeenaفما وجدنا فيها غير بيت من المسلمين
[YA]: But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house:

[RK]:We did not find in it except one house of submitters.

[YA]: And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty.

[YA]: And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest.

[RK]:In Moses (there is a lesson). We sent him to Pharaoh with manifest proofs.

[YA]: So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame.

[RK]:Consequently, we punished him and his troops. We threw them into the sea, and he is the one to blame.

[YA]: And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind:

[RK]:In `Aad (there is a lesson). We sent upon them disastrous wind.

[YA]: And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!"

[RK]:In Thamoud (there is a lesson). They were told, "Enjoy temporarily."

[YA]: As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,-

[RK]:The righteous have deserved gardens and bliss.

YatanazaAAoona feeha ka/san lalaghwun feeha wala ta/theemunيتنازعون فيها كاسا لالغو فيها ولاتاثيم
[YA]: They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill.

[RK]:They will enjoy drinks that are never polluted, and never sinful to drink.

[YA]: They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people.

[RK]:They will say, "We used to be kind and humble among our people.

Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehifalya/ti mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeeninام لهم سلم يستمعون فيه فليات مستمعهم بسلطان مبين
[YA]: Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof.

[RK]:Do they climb a ladder that enables them to listen? Let their listeners show their proof.

Fatharhum hatta yulaqooyawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoonaفذرهم حتي يلاقوا يومهم الذي فيه يصعقون
[YA]: So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),-

[RK]:Disregard them until they meet the day in which they are struck.

Wakam min malakin fee alssamawatila tughnee shafaAAatuhum shay-an illa minbaAAdi an ya/thana Allahu liman yashao wayardaوكم من ملك في السماوات لاتغني شفاعتهم شيئا الا من بعد ان ياذن الله لمن يشاء ويرضي
[YA]: How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.

[RK]:Not even the angels in heaven possess authority to intercede. The only ones permitted by GOD are those who act in accordance with His will and His approval.
